Well, here is an advice but you don't have to take it. You could black out like two months before release date because that's when the leaks started to hit from what I remembered.
Brawl leaked like a month before release date, and Melee is like a week before release date.

I am willing to bet I will not sign in to my GAF account the day after we get a release date until the game is out.
Good advice, but it isn't just about leaks for me. It's about keeping as much of the game a surprise as possible.

Wonder how bad the meltdown would be if no new info was released at this Direct and everything is a rehash of what we've seen so far, lol.
EVERY single time I watch one of their Directs, it starts buffering like crazy at some point. Lowering the quality does nothing. I know I'm not alone. Last time there was a direct, several other people in the thread were complaining about the same thing. Then someone posted the yt stream. I'm just hoping they do that again.

Maybe you can wait till you see how the POTDs go? It may not go into detail even after the release date is revealed since Sakurai has said he doesn't want a Brawl Dojo like situation. If you feel it goes too much into detail about the game, then you should stop.
