Well the core gameplay hasn't really changed at all from previous entries. You may like some of the newer characters though since they seem to play differently compared to the rest of the characters.

Every trailer has some serious compression because of YouTube sadly so going with normal sizes of videos would make it look bad.

Yup, played with other people at work when I was at Activision. I got pretty good because the competition was there. Own it on GC. Of course I like Nintendo franchises but this game is its own genre. So that is kinda irrelevant to my enjoyment of the game, besides maybe fanservice?
