you remainded me of an episode long ago..... when mods were different and behaved differently.

Sporks had a huuuuge meltdown and bashed and trashed Amirox all in the open, I can't remember anymore what was the deal but Sporks really lost it. Amirox was like "dude, what the f*** is wrong with you?! calm down!"

It was the only time I saw a mod (Sporks) behave like that. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that that was the reason he was de-modded.

I don't even remember the full story behind the sp0rsk thing anymore. I think it was something to do with him openly criticizing the new forum layout/changes in the thread, and then repeatedly doing so in many of the topics, and Evilore being like "dude, we have a mod forum to discuss these disagreements, we have to maintain a unified front in public" and then he kept doing it and Evilore was like "that's it."

Well in regards to that, wasn't there an incident when Amir0x was a mod that he was in a very heated argument with someone and basically went back and edited a bunch of posts to make it look different and that he was winning the argument? I remember hearing something along those lines but don't want to besmirch another poster if I'm remembering it incorrectly

This post now got a little awkward...

Not awkward. That was the reason I (rightfully) got demodded. Basically, some guy was making some crazy claims (i can't remember exactly what about, I think it was the discussion about saying some DS game looked better than Uncharted 2). I was saying "dude, that's a lie man, you're just lying." And then he said "that's what you always do, call people liars" and then I was like "No I never do that", but as soon as I posted that, I recalled that I thought I did do that once or twice, so I went back and edited those times out to make it look like I never did. My ego got the best of me, and I was rightfully demodded for that.

People always use this as proof of some horrible corrupt guy I was, but as a mod I was very particular about following the rules for banning and stuff, and I would never ban anyone who was part of any debates with me (unless they were insulting). But I wasn't even the most corrupt mod NeoGAF ever had. I like Dragona, but she had the be the most corrupt :P

but sporks was mad at you, not at evilore, it was like a "I AM SO FUCKING SICK OF YOU!!! aaarrghaghag!" kind of post. a true meltdown, not civil in the least.

Yeah, I was relaying why he got demodded though. It definitely wasn't because of that argument with me. Or if that was part of the consideration it was never mentioned to me.

I cannot for the life of me remember anymore why sp0rsk and me did not get along, but I think it was probably for the same reason I rub a lot of people the wrong way. I'm stubborn and can be abrasive.

Can anyone remember that thread where OP basically said his wife had an idea about a pokemon game and like the third poster in essence just said he's going to rape OP's wife?

It sounds terrible and was terrible but simply because of the wording and the randomness of it, it was hilarious

Probably the best account suicide I've seen

I'm still hurt about this. Epic Mickey was probably my most hyped game ever, right there with Duke Nukem Forever (which I liked, even though it's much worse than Duke3D), F.E.A.R. 2 (loved it) and Mirror's Edge (loved it too). Couldn't play it for more than 3 hours, I was incredibly disappointed.
 
Does anyone remember the guy who claimed to be some kind of insider for Nintendo a and lived in Japan but was found out to be a fraud? Jonnyram or something like that. This was back before the Wii launch in 06.

I miss these so bad. I know that having the entire forum walking on eggshells about small jokes and whatnot was probably waaaaay wrong and inappropriate, but it was fun as HELL having the loom of a perma or long duration ban just lingering over your head if you posted the wrong GIF or phrase and Dragona browsed the thread later that afternoon.

This isn't the most visible by any means, but plenty of people in political threads in 2007 (this was before one all-purpose PoliGAF community thread) went on and on about how a black guy named Barack Hussein Obama would never get elected president.
 
Also the thread for Sony's "$599" E3 press conference announcing the PS3 is gold. It was pure chaos when that press conference ended.

Manos getting schooled by a junior and subsequently perm'd is one of my recent favorites. Possibly all-time favorite. Would post a link with the quickness but I can't get to it easily on mobile.
