Do you have mods bookmarked?
No. I just go to the mods list in the homepage, then PM a mod asking if that was thread shitting. He said yes, and that's it.

Was it evilore?
San Andreas.
Must be one of the new ones trying to prove themselves.
(cyan doesnt count cause hes cyan)
Huge GAF backlash over the main character being black and how they didn't like the new "thug" style to the protagonist. Bish annihilated that thread soon afterwards I believe. What was the issue with San Andreas?
During the manhunt after the boston marathon bombing a few gaffers lied about having insider information iirc
What are you trying to imply here? Are you saying the ban wasn't right? Or what?
Mods are Mods, don't care if they are old or new.
I wouldn't do anything like that! Do you take me for an idiot? I don't take you for a fool. I think you're very clever.
It's not a GAF-specific phrase, it's been around since well before then.
It's an english-language idiom. I knew nothing of its origins til now but Google tells me it comes from someplace in the us and is about 150 years old.
Where did the "ly dow," phrase originate from?
LOL thanks. Man, that thread is just insane. He almost got away with it too.
Um. WHAT. Did that seriously happen?
Anybody got a link?
The Jbaird thread. Unfortunately a lot of people who were genuinely concerned about the guy and tried to help him ended up egg on their faces when the truth came out.
Worlds Collide, DC vs Mortal Kombat crow eating fest was GOAT

GOAT.
Also OMG, DrDogg calling out KI3
FF13 on Xbox 360.
I was personally legit shook by the swell time holding hands thread.
You need to find that, B.Manos getting schooled by a junior and subsequently perm'd is one of my recent favorites. Possibly all-time favorite. Would post a link with the quickness but I can't get to it easily on mobile.
Could someone summarise the JBaird thread? Its a 100 pages and I might read it fully some time but not now.
That Minos guy was a lawyer and spent his time arguing online. What a bizarre person.
That was absolutely incredible. Like some kind of amazing legal drama or something.
He was a totally normal dude until the big Occupy Wall Street thread when he made an abrupt heel turn and started obsessing over guns, fascism and disingenuous arguments.
Its been years since I last read it, but here's what I remember:
-Jbaird makes a thread about losing contact with his GF and her sister for a few days after they went out to the midwest to visit their parents, he's worried that something might have happened to them
-A few members wish the best for him, A few others wonder why he's on GAF and if he called the police yet
-Some members try to offer him help, posting links to some useful sites and whatever, Jbaird doesn't answer about calling the cops
-He then makes a post claiming that his GF's car was found in the woods, his GF was nowhere to be found, but her sister was found dead inside of it, he freaks out, and makes the "go ly down" post
-People start checking news sites from around the area where he claim the car and the body was found, and after hours, nobody could find any updates about this discovery
-This is where a lot of members started getting really skeptical about his story, Jbaird is asked to contact his local Police department and talk to any family for support
-He danced around the issue of talking to the police to the point where members demanded him to post proof that he was either calling or visiting his local police department
-He doesn't post for a while
-A mod gives Detective GAF the okay to do some research due to the drama this was all causing
-His girlfriend's myspace page was found, it turns out she was online too recently to have gone missing
-She actually gets back online and people contact her and tell what the hell was going on, it turns out that she wasn't really his GF anymore because she broke up with him like a month prior
-The guy apparently had mental health issues and the whole thread was basically him writing revenge fanfiction about his Ex.
-Mods ask him to explain himself under a time limit, or he gets banned. Obviously, after all this dirt was dug up about him, he wouldn't be able to comfortably post on GAF again, so he just let the ban happen
Remember I haven't actually read this thread since it first broke out years ago, so I probably have some details wrong or out of order. You should really try reading the first 50 or so pages and then skipping to the last few, the whole thread offers some interesting insight into the mentalities at play whenever a member is in distress.
you remainded me of an episode long ago..... when mods were different and behaved differently.
Sporks had a huuuuge meltdown and bashed and trashed Amirox all in the open, I can't remember anymore what was the deal but Sporks really lost it. Amirox was like "dude, what the f*** is wrong with you?! calm down!"
It was the only time I saw a mod (Sporks) behave like that. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that that was the reason he was de-modded.
I don't even remember the full story behind the sp0rsk thing anymore. I think it was something to do with him openly criticizing the new forum layout/changes in the thread, and then repeatedly doing so in many of the topics, and Evilore being like "dude, we have a mod forum to discuss these disagreements, we have to maintain a unified front in public" and then he kept doing it and Evilore was like "that's it."
He was a totally normal dude until the big Occupy Wall Street thread when he made an abrupt heel turn and started obsessing over guns, fascism and disingenuous arguments.
I was legit shook when I learned the guy in the Hannah hotel sex tape is a gaffer
The condescension, anger, and pure viciousness coming from the "Avengers will be worse than a cheap TV movie, will be the biggest bomb in history, and Batman will shit into its gaping mouth at the box office" contingent before both released certainly deserves at least a place in the top five.
