This is probably the most insane speculation. That's Sakurai's baby. Transforming is literally his one thing. Removing it would be insane. And we saw a suck animation in the direct anyway so obviously he's gonna keep it.

Dunno why people are saying Pokemon isn't going to get another character, Mario franchise has 5 reps Pokemon can easily have 5 reps (probably Jigglypuff as an unlockable)
 
The games releasing so far apart makes the "Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U" name make even less sense.
 
I am pissed as all hell about two things.

1) "For Glory" mode missing the point by making everything FD. I would be 100% down with the idea... if they just had some of the FD-versions have platforms. Platforms are great! Has Sakurai EVER watched ANY sort of serious SSB play? Jeez.

2) Ridley. If you're going to deconfirm him, DO IT. Don't do a stupid shadow tease bullshit.

Rest of the Direct was pretty ace. I hope we get Meganium to complete the trio of Fire/Water/Grass starter Pokemon. And SSB City Trial is the best idea ever, though I really wish it was on the Wii U version as well...

Also, Palutena confirmed? I'm really surprised they didn't end the Direct with her trailer, haha.

Here's what's going to happen;

Ridley as a playable character.
Ridley as a stage hazard/boss in Pyrosphere.

When Ridley is played on the Pyrosphere stage, stage hazard/boss is replaced with Meta Ridley, just like Train Driver Link in the Spirit Train Stage.

Disregarding the Ridley troll and the possibility of two ridleys appearing, although very unlikely at this point, another thing we have to consider is that Ridley's main argument for getting in was being the best 2nd Metroid rep., and that MEtroid needed a new rep

I haven't gone back and read the past 20 pages but have we speculated why the delay for Wii U version? Will they be adding one or multiple substantial other modes that will be Wii U version exclusive like Smash Run on 3DS version?
 
Maybe Ridley can still come, we only saw the shadow of A Ridley, probs Other M Ridley, True Ridley might still come, right guys???
 
Meganium is one of the stupidest looking Pokémon. I'd be pretty annoyed if it got a spot on the roster.

I like the idea of them incorporating the feedback they get from the 3DS version into the Wii U version to help make it better that's been passed around.

Right now general online mode is looking really archaic, little better than Brawl.

I would say this compares very poorly to most popular online games. Seriously surprised they didn't put in matchmaking rooms/lobbies to join.

What are you looking for? Fully customizable matches with friends, and it's not anonymous anymore.

1) YOSHI! Finally! And with no annoying baby, too!
2) DK has his signature roll for his dash attack!
3) I am really curious as to how customizable movesets will affect tournaments.

The fact Little Mac has a Wire Frame alt based on the arcade original is such a cool feature. I'm hoping we'll see more, especially since Wii Fit Trainer is confirmed to have the Male alt now as well, putting that to rest.

Also, seeing Balloon Fight has me excited we'll see more classic games like that & Donkey Kong's 50mm get put in as stages.

I think it's because releasing BOTH Mario Kart 8 AND Smash U would be too much for the summer. You never want to release 2 game franchise juggernauts like this so close to each other.

Smash Bros U for Winter 2014 makes perfect sense.
 
So can we get Sceptile to rep grass starters now? I need at least one starter represented that I really love now that Squirtle is gone :(
