In Majula, low level characters can get killed by the three piggies.

Damn things hit hard and and are hard to hit back and there are three of them and they are relentless once you anger them.


There are still secret walls that are opened by hitting them, and a couple that need explosions.

Haha, oh yea. Forgot about them. They are pretty strong and have a pretty long leash. That could be it. Such a troll,

When I first started playing, those pigs scared the crap out of me. Couldn't damage them and they hit really hard.
 
The exploding zombies are definitely the worst enemy in the game. And a big fuck you to the guy who put them right outside Straid's cell. I cleared that area into despawning. Irritating fuckers.

Their spawn rate seems to have been fixed in the calibrations. I noticed they didn't spawn again after I killed them in NG+

Misread what you wrote a little. Yeah makes that boss 1shot you if hit. But being a Magic user, I can keep my distance and dodge the attacks.

Went up like 15 levels yesterday with 3.5 million souls. Lol

you can drop a red soapstone sign. You then get summoned as an Abyss phantom and the enemies aggro you as well as the host. You have to be careful to avoid friendly fire, and of course the host has to kill you before progressing into the final fog, and of course you can't coop the boss, but it can help for taking out the mobs. :) Just helped a friend with that a few times.

This is excellent, thank you. I haven't even started that yet but a friend was having trouble.
 
So...I guess the PVP community for this game has settled on Magic and crystal magic weapons as the attacks of choice for invading. Feels like there's no place for us melee users.

That boss is piss easy anyway. I'm more concerned about the fire damage on the walk there.
 
Just cleaning up stuff before NG+ - I got all the treasures from the lava in Iron Keep. The easiest one to get was the chest after the archer where the 3 pressure plates and crystal lizard are (think it was a pyro spell). I used the pharros lockstone pool + flashsweat for the chest below Smelter Demon fog gate and still died once, then once again after getting the treasure. But the one after the archer I used flash sweat and the jars above and I took no damage at all, I even walked it the way back. Odd.

I wish they designated a PVP arena for specific handicaps. No healing arena. No magic arena. No melee arena. Just disable those for those specific areas.

I also hate how everyone is a goddamn phantom in PVP. You can't really see their gear well that way. I dunno, we need an area not related to covenants for sparring, imo.
 
I got 1 shot by some magic guy that managed to hit me half way across the map. he was nowhere to be seen, and suddenly everything goes dark and "you died". Weird shit going on.

Yeah, what's with the thousand blood stains as you leave the wharf... Seems like a lot of people just get off the boat and walk into the water for some reason. Hilarious.

Oh yeah. That is usually how I die there when I mess up. Boss is easy. Though little damage, does short stun that occurs from fire sometimes when I really need to dodge. Lol
 
If I buy the physical version of Dark Souls 2 I still get a code to activate and download it from steam right? Been a while staying digital only but dat Black Armour edition hahah
 
Murdering Creighton doesn't count as sin so I helped him off Pate then back stabbed him after he gave me stuff. It's a nice set of armor shame to leave it on his hands really I wanted the axe which looks suspiciously like the dragon slayer one.
 
Stupid question time: Do you keep unused boss souls when going to NG+ ?

I know you did in DS1, but you never know and this says under 'Preparing for NG+' - "Trade boss souls with Ornifex and Straid of Olaphis".

Just making sure :)

And to make things worse they put these enemies in some really random locations, because ambushes huehue.

bridges in Dragon Aerie

And that part near the
Gutter where 5 or 6 comes from both sides is incredibly stupid too

They should just make ALL armor sets available from merchants in NG++. Why make people suffer to want to use armor they like?Stupid as shit.
 
Wow. That gyrm shield or whatever was really all I needed for Smelter. Took thirty tries but finally got that bastard.

Now I'm in the Doors of Pharros and I have no idea what to do. Every lockstone I've used seems to have been a waste.

That's a Rat covenant area you're in. The Lockstones are for trolling invaders. You should go up the stairs instead to progress.
