Didn't try that. Did try quitting and reloading which is ye old technique for after kicking Lautrec off the edge of Firelink and that DIDN'T work.
They changed that from DS1. Everything refreshes when you rest at a bonfire now.

Any tips on dualwielding?
finally acquired all 4 giant souls.
that approach to drangeleic castle is one of the most amazing moments in video games.

Dayum I finished the Lucatiel part I think so I wanna tackle the Jugo one in my NG+ but his summon sign doesn't appear in, am I missing something?Brightstone, the tent with the dummy as the wiki says
The video was made from a cellphone I think, but here's Shrine of Amana post patch.
This nerf was a bit overkill IMO if the player can simply walk to avoid the spells...

You probably need to go back to the path where you first met him. You have to talk to him after unpetrifying the statue for him to move.
rolling under it isn't simple at all, actually, that's probably how most of the people die.Honestly, nerfing freja and Lost Sinner was a stupid move. Both boss are not difficult if you know what to do.
Freja laser was really easy to dodge if you consider she shot from her right to left all the time or simply roll under it.
You don't need ranged attacks in Amana at all. They make it easier, but they are in no way required to get through.
I want to do some co-op runs of the Gargoyles but between invasions its pretty fucking hard to even get summoned
The Ruins part. All that ugly bright green moss. It's terrible. Maybe if it was darker and actually SHADED it wouldn't look so bad, but just looks like they cut and paste the outside textures of the castle at Forest of Fallen Giants everywhere.Shaded Woods is considered to be a bad looking area ? I thought it looked pretty good. My favorite area in terms of visuals is Huntsman's Corpse and Dragon Aerie/Shrine.

Try leaving your sign at the bridge at the beginning and leave the area. The sign shouldn't disappear and you won't get invaded by grey spirits.
I liked Shaded Woods as well though it is arguably the weakest looking area graphics wise, theis one of my favorite moments in the game and in the Souls series IMO. The whole wtf moment when you got hit and trying to keep track of theFog Forest with the ghosts and the weird growling soundswas so intense...maybe it was just me but I loved that so much.enemy silhouettes
That sucks, man. Sorry you aren't getting any enjoyment out of the game.Man... Why do I feel guilty for not enjoying this? I only had reasonable expectations, while DS1 is one of my favourite games of the past generation, or all time for that matter, DS2 can't even hold a candle to it.
I must've killed more than a dozen bosses and I barely even remember any of them...the bosses in DS1 were infinitely more memorable and fun to play. I'm racking my brain to figure out more than one boss that I just couldn't circlestrafe, mash my weapon in its butt and beat it on my first one or two tries.
The locations are so dull and boring... the fact that the game was initially designed with a totally different look only to be optimized (downgraded) in the final moments doesn't help it either. I know it's easy to say the game is visually very uneven but frankly at times the game is so ugly I can't believe it...
Shaded Woods is always brought up as the aesthetic low point but going through the Earthen Peak area I saw things, textures, walls, environments etc that really did look like it was from a ps1 game. There's this one place where you can clearly see it was supposed to be obscured by total darkness but in the game's current version you can see all of the green walls ceilings with their infinitely repeated miniature texture and it really takes you out of the experience.
Whatever DS2 is trying to do with its DeS + DS world-hybrid it's failing horribly at both. Never has a sequel made me want to play its predecessor as much as DS2 makes me want to play DS1 prepare to die edition. I find no joy in my disappointment of this game...

I loved that part as well. Especially with the player ghosts playing tricks on you. If you stay there too long you might become paranoid. xD

Just downloaded patch 1.03 and calibrations 1.04 on EU PS3, and the spells in Amana don't behave like that at all. They still chase me quite a bit and don't really feel changed.
Weird.
Are you playing on PS3 or on Xbox? Someone over in the Reddit forums claimed that the non-tracking spells were only on Xbox and that the PS3 version they still tracked about the same. Not sure if that is accurate or not, but it would be interesting to see if there is a difference between the two versions.
I'm playing on Xbox but I'm not nearly that far to test it out.
As I said, PS3 EU. I didn't have a chance to test if the other calibration changes apply correctly.
I can't get my head around invasions in this game, Soul Memory is so stupid and plain doesn't work.
I'm in NG+ and I've been in human form constantly and have only been invaded 4 times total. Twice by the same person in Huntsman's Copse, and twice in Heides within 5 minutes of each other - and Heides seems to be the hotspot for invasions if my previous character was anything to go by.
My sin level is 0 according to Cromwell, but still I would've thought I'd be getting invaded all the time. The only thing I can think of is my high Soul Memory I guess which I think is over 5m. I also only saw one or two summon signs in Huntsman's Copse and had to wait forever to be summoned myself. It seems you HAVE to sin if you want any invasions at all.
Yeah, I missed that in your post. I edited my post to show that I watched the video and it is defnitely the Xbox version that was being played.
question about builds.
so str and dex scaling may be a good investment, Ive seen video where pumping faith and int and then using enchanted weapons will give a beter effect, and save 60+ levels that can be used in magic, with the benefit of spells.
Ive also read that adaptability is one big scam?
I was going to respec and just dump points into magic and softcap vit and end. sound alright or an I overlooking something?
Oh, and yes, bosses have been pushovers this time around.
What they needed to do is create a hard cap themselves for levels. It always irked me that they let u level everything up to 99 and basically split the playerbase between range 1 to 999 meaning u could often reach a point where there was no way to find anyone else. Harp cap that doesnt have such a wide range is easy for players to find each other because everyone could achieve it and would solidify the end game for everyone.
I love how people are offended by ring of life protection. As if they are forced to use it.
I don't use it much anymore. But still use it when I have like 500k souls and rather not lose them. Mostly use it in annoying areas. Cause I eventually want to use them.
Yea, totally optional. Don't like it, don't wear it. People shouldn't care how others play the game. It's takes up a valuable ring slot. I think if people are truly hardcore, they will wear NO rings. Enjoy guys.
Actually I was thinking there are too many rings slots. The ideal would have been 3 if they wanted to increase options from DS1, but that doesn't make any sense.
Four rings is just too much, and this time there isn't a ring to walk in water comfortably, or the abyss ring, forcing you to occasionally use up a slot in your rings.
That one is here I think. You get it from rank 3 in rat covenantAnother ring I miss: that one that made you silent, so you could surprise enemies.

They have the telemetry data that shows that Xbox users are having more trouble with Shrine.
SUCK IT XBOTS
I wonder what will happen when they decide to bring everyone to parity; homing for everyone or not.
To be fair, many of the rings have been nerfed to olivion (Havel ring says hi). I think they balanced it pretty well but there are some exceptions and the the ring of Life Protection is one of them. Increasing the cost to repair it is a solution for example.
The dragon rings are not even close to RoFaP and break so easily (just throw a corrosive urn into your opponent and there it goes).
The first dragon ring is meh.
The third dragon ring makes a massive difference, but I think that's for NG+ only.

Fuck it, don't think I want to be a brodent.
edit: wait, it seems it removes the message when you invade a host WHAT IN THE FUCK brodent it is.
This is false, from what I've heard.
