Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

Yep, pretty much. It's strange that the entirety of the WarioWare cast is just ignored and either Assist Trophy'd, or just not in the game at all.

Well if you think about it only Brawl had that uneven level of WW representation in Smash. Hopefully we'll get more trophies or something with these two games.

And we all know who that's gonna be.
;)

Not that I think we're getting a WarioWare character at this juncture, but what brings you to this conclusion? Mona is more representative of the WarioWare series as a whole, being wacky and erratic herself, and has been in all the games, unlike Ashley. I would definitely say she's a better choice than Ashley.

Lack of popularity/support unlike Ashley and I've never felt anything she's done could translate well to a moveset (see below).

Because Mona has plenty of things she does in the WarioWare series, as well, she's had a lot of jobs from which she can draw stuff from. I know it's easy to say that WarioWare characters are about equal to each other in terms of importance to the series (aside from Wario obviously), which is true to a lesser extent, but Mona's been in several more games than Ashley has been. Also, it was both Ashley and Mona who got their theme songs in Brawl.

I...guueesssss her job repertoire could make for a functional moveset? There isn't really anything inspired from her roles as pizza delivery/ice-cream seller/cheerleader/w/e and that's why I don't expect her. I've always felt the animal friends that came out of her moped would make for a fun AT, instead.

That's the thing though: they all share the same level of importance and out of those only Ashley/9-Volt had any notable popularity. I also don't really see how Brawl's emphasis on vocal WW songs had anything to do with character representation; Kat and Ana's song from the original didn't get in, yet they appeared as an AT regardless.

They do. Waluigi & Ashley have the same icon.

Well yes, but what I'm saying is that there should be actual Wario Land representation alongside Ware, as in some stages from Wario Land 1-3, Shake It, trophies, Assist Trophies, and even fighters, with the WarioWare title being changed to Wario.

Waluigi was just given the WarioWare emblem because... well, I have no idea, really. Guess the developers figured it was more fitting. Though that could be a hint at them going in the direction I'm hoping for, with more than just WarioWare characters representing Wario.

EDIT: MrSaturn, you monster. </3

I've always liked Captain Syrup as a playable character to be honest. As a kid, I always thought it was so rad that the final boss of Wario Land 1 was a woman from the extended Mushroom Kingdom-verse (or whatever you want to call it) who consistently one ups Wario in being avaricious and conniving. It certainly was very different given all the Peaches and Daises at the time.

Not to mention, Smash needs a TvC Doronjo type of character and she has the Black Sugar Gang to aid in that design. :P

Yup, combine that number with the insane number of tracks in the Wii u version and we are looking at a record breaking amount of songs in this game between the two versions.

I'm hoping that one of the connectivity features is that you can export/import tracks between versions. With the 3DS you'd probably have to constantly switch though.

That would be pretty lame if the stage count in either version is gimped because of this. I've said it before, but I really hope the two versions don't feel like an incomplete part to a whole that can never be completed.

20-25 stages for each versions would already be great imo. I don't expect anything like 40 stages for each versions.

Hope I'm wrong, but I'm just trying to be realistic. Edit: I guess including retro stages 30 would be likely.

So, <35 stages on the 3DS version?
Haha

Possibly, maybe even less prodigy!!!? :0

30 new stages is probably optimistic, but if you count retro stages I'd be pretty shocked if we didn't hit that number.

Well, retro stages can easily put in compared to brand new ones. Kind of. I just don't see it get anywhere near 40.

There are 41 in Brawl, so it seems reasonable enough to me.

Brawl is on a Wii, not a 3DS. huehuehue.

It'd be pretty awesome if there were an fe awakening rep for whom every b move was a tag attack with a different character.

That would actually be fantastic. Chrom fights by himself, then calls on other members of FE:A for his specials and final smash. The moves would end up being slow to activate because of that, but could be made more powerful to balance them. Then you could get a good variety of different weapon attacks. Chrom would have his sword, then you could have axe, spear and magic specials.

I'm guessing 30-45 new stages with 10-15 old stages per version.
My main worry is that we haven't seen a temple-like stage for the 3DS version. And that we haven't seen Temple on either version. Or Corneria. Or Fountain of Dreams.

Ready to avatar bet that there will be less than 35 stages in total in Super Smash Bros for 3ds?

Not really, i'm not in the mood to bet, I already got enough wins from the direct. :P

i can't tell if you're being facetious.

I can't tell how i'm being facetious. :3

All those stages would be even smaller. XD

Considering that we've only just seen that there would be returning stages, and only know the two of them so far, I'd say your fears are a bit unfounded.

I really hope Fountain of Dreams comes back. I love that stage.

You know what would be cool? Unlocking the 3DS' classic stages in the Wii U version when you connect them. A nice bonus for people getting both.

Oh I know, there's not too much reason to fear. Corneria and Temple will almost definitely be in one version, if not both. But they're such great stages, I gotta see them in HD/3D.

IIf you guys had one chqaracter from an indie game to be in smash, who would it be?

Juan from Guacamelee! Guacamelee is actually roughly how I'd like them to do a large scale campaign, if they ever did one again. Guacamelee basically controls very Similar to Smash once you get all the abilities.

New Pork City or bust.

I'm half expecting that we're only getting Melee stages in the 3DS version and Brawl stages in the Wii U version, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Fountain of Dreams just won't be done justice on 3DS.

I called this a while back and after the Direct I'm still expecting it.

plz onett

I believe my 30-40 stage count is fairy likely, especially with returning stages.

I hope there's no overly large Temple like stage on 3DS.

You're supposed to pretend the Wii U version will get the better versions of everything, stop playing around :P

Considering we already know about more new items and Poké Balls than Brawl introduced, I'm feeling optimistic about the newcomer count. I used to think 10 was a safe bet, but now I'm thinking more along the lines of 15. I doubt Sakurai is going to exceed expectations regarding items/Poké Balls/ATs and then skimp out on the roster.

Additionally, I hope we'll get a few of the Melee stages back - I would love to see HD versions of Great Bay and Fourside.

I think it's kind of doubtful. The comments about the development say that they started by porting Brawl, and the two past stages shown so far both were in Brawl and look identical to their versions there - the Donkey Kong stage, although originally from Melee, was in Brawl too after all. They'd likely have to rebuild Melee stages from the ground up, rather than just porting them, and, by that point, it might be better to just create new stages with similar themes.

They should really just re-title the WarioWare franchise to just "Wario". That way, there could be wider representation of both Wario Land and Ware, Assist Trophy/Trophy/fighter-wise.
Just noticed I typed "WarioWario". Amazing.

We didn't get any character of stages outside of WarioWare in Brawl, but there was one WarioLand and one WarioWorld sticker, which were classified alongside the other Wario elements in the game (while Waluigi was considered a Mario character in Brawl, although now he also seems to be Wario branded).

So after picking up Brain Age Concentration Training for $5 at Toys R Us clearance I reeeeeally want Devilish Kawashima for an assist trophy in Smash. He'd fit in perfectly, maybe assault everyone with math problems or something.

Is that another Nintendo boss with a floating head and 2 hands?

how many do they have at this point?

If that's the case how much work did it take to mod old stages into Brawl?
