Yep, pretty much. It's strange that the entirety of the WarioWare cast is just ignored and either Assist Trophy'd, or just not in the game at all.
Well if you think about it only Brawl had that uneven level of WW representation in Smash. Hopefully we'll get more trophies or something with these two games.
And we all know who that's gonna be.
Not that I think we're getting a WarioWare character at this juncture, but what brings you to this conclusion? Mona is more representative of the WarioWare series as a whole, being wacky and erratic herself, and has been in all the games, unlike Ashley. I would definitely say she's a better choice than Ashley.
Lack of popularity/support unlike Ashley and I've never felt anything she's done could translate well to a moveset (see below).
Because Mona has plenty of things she does in the WarioWare series, as well, she's had a lot of jobs from which she can draw stuff from. I know it's easy to say that WarioWare characters are about equal to each other in terms of importance to the series (aside from Wario obviously), which is true to a lesser extent, but Mona's been in several more games than Ashley has been. Also, it was both Ashley and Mona who got their theme songs in Brawl.
I...guueesssss her job repertoire could make for a functional moveset? There isn't really anything inspired from her roles as pizza delivery/ice-cream seller/cheerleader/w/e and that's why I don't expect her. I've always felt the animal friends that came out of her moped would make for a fun AT, instead.
That's the thing though: they all share the same level of importance and out of those only Ashley/9-Volt had any notable popularity. I also don't really see how Brawl's emphasis on vocal WW songs had anything to do with character representation; Kat and Ana's song from the original didn't get in, yet they appeared as an AT regardless.
