Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

I see this written everywhere and while I agree with you for this iteration of smash, as time progresses Jigglypuff's relevancy to the franchise continues to wane. Ive never seen or heard any special rule regarding the original Smash 64 characters that they will never be cut.
The fact that they've been in every single Smash Bros. game. Ness & Jigglypuff both dodged the bullet in Brawl during the initial roster selection because of their OG status (as in, outside of the last-minute inclusion of Sonic that screwed Mewtwo out of Brawl).

Jigglypuff in particular has a new Fairy typing, giving her some relevance.

Sooo...anyone know where I can find the nearest tower?

Don't worry, Ridley will never be confirmed

Lumiose City.

you said Chrom/Lucina AND Ridley, no jumping off towers for you ;)

Don't worry, Ridley will never be confirmed

You didn't specify so you should be good just jumping off a fisher price house or something. You fulfill you promise but can stick around and play some smash.

Don't sweat it, Ridley probably won't get in.

If he does, as the others said, there's always Luminose City's central tower.

Thanks guys, what a supporting community. I can't help but be a little disappointed about Squirtle's probable cancellation this time around, he was my main in Brawl.

Btw, did anyone know what Heath was talking about in those clouds, or is my tinfoil hat on too tight?

Pac-Man is in the clouds, or at least an outline of him.

If we're assuming Snake, Ivysaur and Squirtle are gone (which is a safe assumption I'd think), I imagine the other character cut (assuming they cut 4) was Lucas. He's not really relevant at all, has no seniority, was a clone (and a fairly boring one) and from a series that is barely acknowledged to exist by Nintendo.

He was one of my favorites, too. :'(

I would imagine the character cut to make 4 would be Wolf.

Listening to Xenoblade's soundtrack right now and my desire for Shulk in the game (or at least a Xenoblade stage) is higher than ever. So goddamn much potential
I'd be lying if I said the soundtrack wasn't the biggest reason why I want a Xenoblade stage or rep in the game.

probably an anagram of macpan
Cap Nam, a company from an alternate universe where Namco merged with Capcom instead of Bandai

Lucas is one of my favorite characters in Brawl and reps my favorite game ever... I'd be really upset if he didn't make it back. :(

I know that it's probably fake, but for the sake of this scenario I was assuming the latest Gematsu leak contained all of the remaining newcomers. Mewtwo's a veteran, so he'd fit into that last spot.

I suspect neither the 2nd Gematsu leak nor that one is true.

Why would they cut a unique character over a clone? As far as we've seen they always put importance to unique characters over clones. The only unique character cut from Smash is Mewtwo, and that was external circumstances that led to that, he was planned.

Shulk has a talent gauge that requires 4 hits to fill up, only then can he unleash a special attack that takes up anywhere from 50-100% of the gauge.
thoughts?

it seems like a terrible idea at first glance

And MGR is the reason I'd like to see Raiden, but we can't always get what we want
Rules of Nature for Smash 4 will never happen ;-;
I'd be lying if I said Revengeance's soundtrack wasn't the biggest reason why I want a Metal Gear stage or rep in the game.

What's with the discussion of cuts? Only person that has a strong chance is snake.
The loss of transformations, as well as the inclusion of a solo Charizard & Greninja, pretty much spell the end for Squirtle & Ivysaur. Especially with Jigglypuff & possibly Mewtwo incoming.

Show me the receipts.
I haven't seen any concrete evidence to support such aside from "he's third party"
I can see I was begging for this question with my statement.
I'm going of the realistic approach that is characters were to get cut; snake would be at the top of the chopping block.
People may argue sonics reappearance shows a chance for snake to return, but Snake felt like a one time thing, because he was begged to be put in it.
Compared to sonics heavy integration with Nintendo party games and their gaming business.

Y'all are crazy talking about cuts. There's already indisputable proof that we already have the final roster. Have you guys learned nothing from the Direct?
There are so many clues and hints that foreshadow that this year is the Year 20XX.

Y'all crazy. If Chrom's in, Ike's the most likely to be cut. He's being replaced. The others would just be straight loses.

Because we really need a third fox instead of someone with an actual unique moveset.

My like for Ike aside, I agree that he's a candidate for the chopping block. Of course I would personally say that any character that has only been in a single game (i.e Brawl newcomers) has a chance of being cut, and any character that has been in multiple games has no chance of being cut.

My reasoning is that the only characters that we have lost are Mewtwo, Dr. Mario, Roy, and Pichu (IIRC), who all only appeared in a single game (Melee), therefore any other character that has only appeared in a single is also fair game.

So yeah, characters like Lucas, Ike, Wolf, Snake, Pokemon Trainer (who may actually not be cut, but probably is), R.O.B., etc are all fair game, while characters like Captain Falcon, Jiggilypuff, Ness, Ganondorf, and Falco are really not.

Kojima said he had no knowledge of him being in the game. And Snake was only ever in as a favor for Kojima so...

"I'm not working on that game so I don't know, but I don't think that's likely," said Kojima. "Well, if Mr. Sakurai is watching this, please use Snake."

That's what he said and I took it as much. But it was actually other people in this thread that pointed out the same thing was said about Sonic before he popped up.

I'll take this reasoning. It's better than most of the stuff I read about how snake is 100% out. Not to say I agree wholeheartedly (Gotta keep my faith in Snake until the bitter end).
