PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | April 2014

I see SCEA is already making up for its inevitable lack of Vita announcements during E3. Not going to complain though.

Edit: Top of the page, buy Soul Sacrifice Delta, Freedom Wars, and Oreshika 2!

...And Demon Gaze.

I am guessing you didn't add it to your download list when it was available.

Sony pays the publisher according to how many downloads it has. If you did not add it to your download list, you missed it.

Correction: Pixel Junk Monster HD Vita hasn't hit Playstation Plus yet. It's a game for April but we don't get all of our games at the start of the month like Europe. This has been said many times before in this thread (maybe should be added to the OP?).

I love the smell of Vita announcements in the afternoon.

Personally, I've got my hands full with Dynasty Warriors 8 for the foreseeable future. Definitely in for SS:D and Freedom Wars though.

Over My Dead Body is Oreshika, it's confirmed.

GE2 won't come in it's current iteration I'm guessing. If there's a GE2: Burst it probably will,

GE2 Burst is not coming.

Only GE3 as Vita exclusive and lots and lots of improvement from being able to do away with PSP..

But....But....it's only 7:45 AM my time (Sony's HQ time). I hope we get that "greatest sale in PSN history" sale announced today that only covers two of it's systems.

Yes! All three of them are coming out of Japan. I was a bit afraid Oreshika won't since the PSP one was not released outside Japan (I think?).

I am only waiting for atleast Phantasy Star Nova if PSO2 never comes out (SEGA Please!) and God Eater 2... After that I will be a happy man. Whatever comes out of Shahid's #JRPGVita is already a bonus for me.

Can you take the skinomi off? Whats shipping? Can you post pics? I'm slightly interested.

already found a buyer :X
but yeap you can take Skinomi off :X

hmm is there anything to do when transferring a memory card to a new Vita?

I'll definitely be buying all 3 :X
and dang where's my PSO2 and GE2
(give me PSO2 on Vita first, the PS3/4 and PC can wait)

I searched for it April 1st, and it wasn't free, so I assumed it becomes free later on in the month? I'm confused how could I have missed it since the first day? Is it still showing up for free for anyone else?

So now I have to make OTs for:

Demon Gaze - April 22
Borderlands 2 - May 6/13
Soul Sacrifice Delta - May 13

What have I gotten myself into?

The only SCEJA game I want is GR2 :(

Btw I called Sony support for that Sly thing and...I'm effed :( I can't buy the discounted game, nor the regular one. If the Vita game will be crossbuy, I'll have to buy that version (which will probably cost 10€ more than the regular PS3 game).

So I'm probably holding off launch. I wanted it so much :/

I answered this just a few posts up. It really should be added to the OP. You didn't miss it, it hasn't come out, NA PS+ releases one new title a week unlike Europe that releases everything at beginning of month.I'm surprised you guys aren't going "did I miss that shooter game (forgot title, sorry)?" for the vita as it is supposed to be one of the bigger titles for the vita.

What a great day (or night in my case) it is to be a Vita owner!
Thanks for the feedback Tsunamo :).

Saw gameplay of both on Youtube and they look great on Vita :). I think they cuts levels from Midievil due to the original levels maybe having flaws or something (Sony Cambrge themselfs; the creators of the game, worked on the PSP game so they wouldn't cut content they felt was good). For Ape Escape though, how did the original control? The PSP version had the items mapped to the buttons (and the camera mapped to the D-Pad aka the Right Stick on Vita) the anolog stick was spific swings of the net? Either way, thanks for the advice for the games, will currently pick them up :).
No problem, happy to help another GAF member :)

Ah I see, that'd make sense seeing as how Sony Cambridge would know better than anyone how to design/improve the original Medievil.

The original mapped a bunch of function to the right analog stick, such as like you said specific directions/swings of the net and gadgets like the RC Car being controlled with the right stick as you used the left one to move around with it. For me personally it felt really innovative seeing as how I started off gaming with the d-pad only PS1 controllers and didn't see them as having much use other than being used as a camera or something simple and completely opened my mind to the possibilitys of them.

Hope you end up enjoying them!
Phantasy Star Online 2, Phantasy Star Nova and the Tales games.
PSO2 feels like a lost cause at this point given it hasn't even gotten a Western PC release yet but I wouldn't doubt that Nova will eventually come over.
Completely forgot about PS Nova.. has there been any new info on that game since TGS?
I don't think so, hopefully it pops up again at TGS this year.

Well, it's already there:

NA
This are released weekly, we do not know the order
Mercenary Kings (PS4)
Batman: Arkham City (PS3)
Stealth Inc. (PS3/Vita)
Velocity Ultra (Vita)
Castle of Illusion (PS3)
PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD (Vita)

We might need a big banner pointing to that. Made on sparklee. And people would still miss it.

Ok that makes sense. Yes that would be a great piece of info to add to the OP, I haven't read through this whole thread thoroughly. Thanks!

Those #20V1T4 announcements made me remember Phantasy Star Nova. Have we heard anything about it since TGS? Like, even in the Japanese press?

All I remember is the announcement and Sega saying they had no localisation plans.

Oh right, I thought it was a hashtag that accompanied the game announcements. :P

Still, cool to see so many games being brought over. I can count 2 game that I might get.

So they confirmed two titles that were almost sure things for the west and added in something I never heard of.

Maybe the game I've not heard of will be something to buy during this #20V1T4 you speak of.

LBXW is a big Japan-only game, but that'll be localized for 3DS.

That will probably be Vita's big Holiday 2014 title in Japan. Sony is probably asking Sega to remain mum on the game until Freedom Wars has launched. They've been purposely silent on SSD until GE2 came out, and were quite on FW until SSD launched.

I really don't know how to manage my games for the next few months. Chances are that Demon Gaze and BL2 will take up most of my Vita time for a while, and I won't get to SSD and other games until close to Freedom Wars and Oreshika release.

I've never heard of Oreshika, is it an action RPG or turn based?

It's apparently the "Over My Dead Body 2" that people talk about in here sometimes, I think.

Out of the 3, it's probably the most interesting to me as I burnt out on Soul Sacrifice with the first game and I'm still not sold on paying $40 for something like 7 new archfiends. It's not Aksys levels of Blazblue CS2E bad, but nothing that catches my interest as a "day one" title.

Freedom Wars is in the middle of the 3 for me because it might be more hunting, but it might play different enough from Soul Sacrifice Delta to catch my attention.

JRPGs on Vita seem like a good way to go, especially since I only have Totori+ as a traditional JRPG. My main concern will be if the gameplay/story look enticing and whether or not it will be an issue that it's a sequel to something that's never been brought to the west.

And for those who have played the original Ore no Shikabane wo Koete Yuke, how does the sequel build on the concept?

Allan Becker: Firstly, although the games are linked, players who have never played the original game will be able to enjoy Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines as it starts a completely new story. But if you have played the original, you’ll find that all of the game’s systems have been greatly expanded. Plus, you should look out for some really cool things that we’ve been able to do using the Vita hardware that just weren’t possible with PS1/PSP.

And you better get Freedom Wars. Need some Vitagaf coop boss rushing (NOT hunting) action.

Damn you Sony, making a bunch of announcements just to steal the thunder from my Sound Shapes lttp-thread

So hyped for Oreshika, hoping we get the same boxart (i know we won't) or at least not made into some generic boxart.

Now, about IA/VT Colorful...i want that LE!

Oh man, I kinda want that LE.

But nah, not going to buy another card to make a JP region account.

Weirdly enough the IA/VT announcement might be the game which pushed me to get a vita.

I must've missed the party... I essentially bought a Vita for Soundshapes and the game was just underwhelming and disappointing to me. Maybe I'm to blame for the high expectations I had after Everyday Shooter, but it really fell flat as far as I'm concerned.

Glad you liked it though. :P
