Tales of Hearts R coming to the West - Winter 2014

Some boards I'm on or have been on are a lot more stringent about that stuff. So I'm sorry for not knowing the ins and outs (I can't say I've ever wondered the legal stuff or whatever behind it or really had to look it up). Even still, I did a check myself and the needed result was the *first* thing you get when you google it (innocence patch --- aaand presto!). Heck it even comes up as an guessed search item.

July 21st sounds like it might be right. There was that rumored July 24 release date for EU, making the NA release for Xillia 2 just three days before. That was the same exact gap for Xillia 1 and Symphonia Chronicles.

If so, I'm surprised we've heard zip about it. That's only a few months away. Curious if we'll get some press about it soon. Maybe Baba is just changing all of his Tales of Hearts pillows, plushes, and cardboard cutouts and posters to Xillia ones. :P

The only odd thing would be that it'd release on a Monday, and I think most game releases in NA are on Tuesday and Thursday (Xillia and Symphonia were both on a Tuesday). So we'll have to see.

I'd have liked it to release a bit sooner :x

The voice acting has been done for a few months too. :/
Not sure how pre-release stuff goes down, so who knows if it's a tactical thing (avoiding major releases) or there's just a bunch of stuff to do still.

Surprisingly sparse Summer release for me otherwise.... or just in what I choose to play.
So hooray if July is official.
 
I'm also rooting for the July date of Xillia 2 to be true.
Can't wait to get my hands on Hearts R, it was the game I needed to reignite the interest I once had for Vita.

Zestiria in 2014 ? no way in us/europe. Hearts R is possible but i somehow doubt it. I seriously cannot see it before early 2015 at best. i'd love to be proven wrong on this of course.

Tales of Hearts R follows Kor, a young man living in a small village by the sea. While watching the house in his grandfather's absence, Kor meets a young woman named Kohaku who has come searching for his grandfather. However, a mysterious witch soon appears and casts a spell on Kohaku's Spiria, the embodiment of her heart and soul. Kor attempts to lift the spell, but while doing so he accidentally shatters her Spiria Core, the source of her emotions. Armed only with the Soma, an unusual weapon given to him by his grandfather, Kor must now set out on a journey to find a way to make Kohaku's Spiria whole once more.

They changed Kohaku's name to Amber when they brought Tales of Graces f to America and it's gone back to the old one lol. Kor sounds stupid and it is not better than Shing.
 
For the record, Kor used to be Shing for those that don't know the original names.

While Kohaku became Amber (Graces cameo) and is now back to being Kohaku
 
Kor seems like a weird change, but I guess Shing was kind of a weird name to begin with. I don't get why they changed Amber back to Kohaku though- I liked Amber.
 
I like the name Amber as well and the change is odd but hey, games coming so I'm happy regardless :D.

Who would have thought that no only are we getting a Vita tales game but we're getting so many tales games since Graces f came out. And we're getting them up until at least Zestiria and hopefully after that as well. :D

It's funny. Even more so when we know #JRPGVita is an on-going thing and not just a one-game thing.

i'd rather have a vita game than any PSP game, with the sole exception of grand knights history.

isnt Type 0 getting a fan translation anyways?

Vesperia wasn't that great anyway IMO

As far as the name changes, I prefer Amber to Kohaku. No idea why they changed it back for the localized release since Amber is a more common name over here. I'm guessing Jadeite will be changed back to Hisui. I don't mind "Kor" though. It'll take a lot of getting used to, but since his Japanese name, "Shing", was based on the kanji for "armed with a heart," so it makes some sense if you think of the heart as the core of the being.

A possible reason for the name change to Kor from a cutepresea on the Tales forums:

As for Shing, well the best excuse I could come up with is that they were going off the reasoning for Shing's name on the official blog where they claim that it comes from 「心」を「具えている」 (心 and 具 together would be pronounced "shingu"), and they could be aiming for it sounding like the Latin word "cor" (heart, since that's what 心 means).
...But I guess the only way to know for sure is if someone on the localization team says something.

They actually kept Kohaku (surprised it isn't at least just Kohak) but changed Shing's name to Kor? wut. Shing sounds way better. Personally I don't really understand name changes since JRPGs are full of weird names anyway.

Also lol at the Vesperia comments. Keep the dream alive. Baba said he got a lot of requests for Hearts R. I wonder how the Vesperia requests compare.

Out of Tempest, Innocence, and Hearts, which were the best of the Tales games that didn't come over? I don't really know much about the handheld Tales games...
 
Kor Meteoryte sounds more geological to go with the other names in the game perhaps.

i would be less tired of ToV PS3 comments if those people asked for a good game like ToDR or ToR instead of a bad one

Type 0 seems more like an E3 announcement to me. "Here's the latest trailer to FF15 and to make the wait more bearable here is a new FF for the Vita".

Worse than dead. I'm just happy that we are getting more Tales Of compared to a few years ago.

Maybe Baba might even drop by Singapore for another visit this year...who knows?
 
Kor is fine for me, like in core meteorite, it works.
But Kohaku? what happened with Amber, I guess Hisui is back too, why so much Inconsistency? they already localize them previously, please don't screw the naming theme namco. plz
