Overshadowed by more characters that came into visibility between then and now I'd say. Nothing works against her outright and she could be played up into a very unique means of representing the other side of Wario games in Smash, but with only one (nonplayable) appearance since Brawl in a game that was kinda just there during the Wii generation (Wario Land: Shake It), the impact wasn't there.

My plan of action: Day 1. DigiBuy, then wait for the inevitable 3DSXL Smash Edition and purchase that along with the physical copy if it isn't bundled. My OG 3DS is nowhere near as comfortable as an XL. Made the mistake
/good decision
of trying my roommates and there's no going back, mentally.

Definitely will be going physical, I love to own my games. :P

Even if a Smash Themed XL comes out, which it will, i'd go buy a physical copy. Haha.

I'm conflicted lol. I love my boxes but I also love the convenience of digital at midnight.

Mega Evolutions are not only a reference to the games.

Pikachu always had its voice in the anime and in Smash. It now has it in Pokemon games as well

Differentiating different Mewtwos is weird cause there is nothing in the games to base their differences on, only the movies/anime and that specifically doesn't refer to "Cerulean"/"Kalos" Mewtwo.

Froakie is Ash's Kalos starter. Greninja is the final evolution of Froakie.

Mega Charizard X has its appearance in Pokemon Origins and is the main Mega Evolution used by that guy in the new XY special focused on Mega Evolutions.

Lucario is a popular Pokemon mascot and Mega Lucario is featured prominently in games and pre-release.

Pokemon is focused on both the anime and games for Smash, it isn't an either or situation and it seems that they take both things into equal consideration.

I'm getting digital on the 3DS version and physical on Wii U version. I love getting digital on 3DS because I carry my 3DS everywhere and its just so much more convenient having all my games with me at all times. Plus I get to download the game at 12AM EST which is 11PM in my time zone :D
 
Depends on if there's any promotion a la Best Buy eShop cards or $10 off pre-order and whatnot. I think I'd prefer digital so I can boot it up whenever, but after the experience I had with my 3DS recently, I'm hesitant for the 3DS version at least :/

I'm really hoping it's the former because it would be fun and novel as hell. i.e: baseball bat anyone?

I think it's going to unfortunately be the latter though, where it works like a non-walk off stage's horizontal blast zone. I doubt it would be hard to change or add a few lines of code. (Not at programmer)

Same here, but I may get 3DS physical first, then shift the save data to digital version. Since physical copies always leak 1~2 days before launch. :P

Being there live was such a migical night. The fact that they actually pulled it off is beyond logic...Tho the bloodshed afterwards was another story.

Regardless, an all encompassing shield like that, that can be turned into an offensive weapon is going to make Megaman extremely fun to play with. Can't wait to add him to my main man/women/puffball/etc list.

Are you kidding? That seems like a failure of the imagination on your part. I can easily see a Megaman user activating Leaf shield as an opponent closes in then as he gets close firing it off and comboing into metal blade or a fully charged buster shot/crash bomber for the finisher.

Orrrrrr: Same scenario as before but instead of projectile followup, down tilt slide into a mega upper. Bonus points if you are close enough to the edge to go for a hard knuckle meteor spike.


EDIT: My pants tightened writing/thinking about the above hypothetical scenarios.

I see what you are going for and I appreciate the effort but let me put it this way: I feel like even Sakurai w/ Bamco behind him would have a hard time implementing 8bit pacman into smash without royally failing, ya dig?

You know... this is really good pattern recognition. Great observation, buddy.

Villager has pocket
Megaman has leafshield
WFT has ?

Rosalina has gravity well (don't care if they changed the name it is forever gravity well)
Little Mac has slip counter
Greninja has substitute

Even if WFT lacks a move to soak projectiles, 5/6 isn't bad!

Side note: Zelda now has 2 moves to handle projectiles with Nayru's love for deflection and Phantom slash for pure soaking, good lawd!

ZSS could possibly have a tilt or smash that could reflect projectiles with those jet heels but I doubt it and instead; the Gordos are intrinsically reflectable with strong attacks.

Maaaaan I can't wait to dive into these new and refreshed movesets
