It's tough. I'm not a lawyer, or know all the exact issues Silver is going to be facing from the opposition.
From my understanding he can banish him from day to day operations, kind of like what they did with Steinbrenner years ago, or McCourt. That would be the quick fix. Then with support from the league owners, I'm sure they can force the hand beginning a transfer of ownership. Some owners may be skeptical, because they would fear a incident of varying degree may result in their disposal just as quick.
Someone summed it up before stating that Silver essentially works for Sterling. It's not a simple task at hand.
If they can prove he is a liability to the image and NBA as a organization and his actions threaten the profits of the organization they can force him out legally can't they?
