Well, he wouldn't get forced into it, but given the comments about him privatizing world security, it kinda sounds like he's going very pro-regulation. And you can bet that Tony's version of world security would probably make the NSA's attempts look like the Keystone Cops by comparison.

I can see him not having a problem with excessive surveillance. I mean, he has no sense of personal privacy, either for himself or anyone else... which is a current very pro-government stance.
Yeah you're right, I just think Tony is not cut and dry Pro anything really. He shifts his views to what he needs. The way Hill was talking, the security thing sounded like a way to get what they need and nothing more. This show has really turned a corner now with the way it's weaving things.

Civil War wouldn't work in MCU too much to fit into one movie even if they used Hero movies to build it. And I will be happy if they never go there.

I watched the first episode. Jesus, I'm not sure I wanna keep going until episode 15 till things get better. It was really really bad. Wow.
How do you guys do it?

Episodes 1-15 are very so-so, but the second half makes the wait worth it, especially the post-Winter Soldier episodes, which are basically what the show should've been from the start tone-wise. The wait is hard though, I admit.

I'll be real curious if they change the show's title for next season, since they seemed to be hitting the whole "SHIELD is gone!" thing hard this episode.

It'll give them a chance to relaunch the show for those who have dropped off and haven't come back to witness this massive resurgence.

Secret Warriors, anyone?

Just so you brahs know, Marvel is making a comic series for Deathlok based on the AoS design. Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

uuuugh that design really doesn't need to be validated any further

Was thinking about this exact same thing last night. Maybe the reason we don't have a renewal announcement yet is because they're technically not renewing "Agents of SHIELD" but the full cast and crew will return for...whatever it's called next season. Secret Warriors would be pretty sweet.

I guess each season could get the Power Rangers treatment, where it's subtitled like a movie sequel.
So next season could be
Agents of SHIELD: Secret Warriors
Agents of SHIELD: Rebirth
or something like that.

Well technically the stuff around Winter Soldier was advertised as Agents of SHIELD: Uprising, but they didn't change the actual show name.

It was a good episode, but it made our discussion about the storming of the TAHITI base very funny in retrospect. It was a SHIELD base, and Coulson shot his 'own' men...

The reason there hasn't been a formal renewal announcement is because ABC hasn't formally renewed any of their shows and won't until the Friday afternoon the week before its upfront.

thinking of watching the avengers movie again since I love this show so much

the season is almost over and SDCC is not that far off in the grand scheme of things. i could see them waiting until then to make any real announcements about next season stuff. that's just my theory though. i think they are just waiting for the season to end so that they can evaluate viewer thoughts and opinions on it all before doing anything else. i believe that there will be more. we'll just be waiting a little bit for confirmation. the show has had plenty of downs, but i do believe that they have learned a lot from this season and hopefully will carry those lessons forward into the next season. if they weren't going to do more, they'd have said already. who knows? maybe they will flip it all and go from agents of shield to agents of sword. lol wouldn't that be crazy? lol it's doubtful, but it's fun to think about.

We're not 100 percent certain. Best guess is
it's a Kree, which would tie into Guardians of the Galaxy

Would also allow for Marvel to bring in the
Inhumans, which I know they want to do in order to replace the lack of mutants.

They'll all get positions at Stark's thing.

So remember how, in the pilot, May arranged some office files in a group of three in the exact same way Skye did in another episode? In the most recent episode, After Maria Hill and Coulson beat up the military, you can see that Skye arranged sugar packets into a perfectly spaced group of three, before her coffee arrived. I wonder what the story with this detail is.

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
Simmons is so Hydra I just can't take it =[. For gods sake, the music changes when she's talking to Fitz! I think. I'd bet money on this if I had some.

Coulson said Stark didn't even know he was alive. Not that great intel for the new "master spy".

To be fair, Coulson was just assuming Stark still thinks he's dead, Stark could very well know. Not that it matters because RDJ isn't going to be on AoS anytime soon. Maybe Avengers 3 will bring Coulson back...

I wonder if this has to do with
Peter Quill being taken from Earth. Supposedly, SHIELD makes an appearance in GOTG.

my only real problem with the show at this point is Triplett

gimme a reason to care

otherwise, that episode kicked ass, dodgy special effects aside

I really hope it goes beyond just being a visual gag with Skye and has some significance. I assume they're reaffirming the 0-8-4 status

It was neat how everything came back full circle to the pilot in this episode, though. Maria, Tahiti, Mike, diner, Lola.

-Skye relying on LAPD to arrest Ward. Haha.
-Deathlok seems to have a variant of the Black Widow electric thingy from Cap 2.
-Lola flies past two nice hotels and they still end up at a cheap motel?
-Pretty inelegant way to notify the team that Ward is Hydra. But I guess once they found Koenig it was inevitable.
-Since when did US special forces have jurisdiction to waltz onto Canadian soil?
-Ward can't override the cargo ramp opening from the cockpit?
-Where's May's mom? :(

I definitely want them to get a regular base next season. The plane is way too confining visually. (It reminds me of how much the directors/producers hated the Library scenes in Buffy because they kept having to find ways to make it not-boring.)

They could do it like 24...have the base explode or something and force them to relocate.

Next season base; motel.

Which is funny because most people loved the library as the base above the rest.

This show is making me not regret trudging through the earlier part of the season. I'm enjoying it quite a bit now.

Ward is beyond redemption at this point, right? As the body count rises, I just can't see there being a plausible or even semi-explainable scenario to ever get him on the good side of Coulson and team.

I would not be surprised if instead of dying after an act of redemption (or rather betraying Garrett in some way to save the team), that he gets put away, leaving it open for him to come back every now and then when things get super serious.

It gets better around 7-10 episodes in.

Simmons is so Hydra I just can't take it =[. For gods sake, the music changes when she's talking to Fitz! I think. I'd bet money on this if I had some.
This would make a lot of the Simmons/H.Y.D.R.A. Interactions strange in retrospect, especially her apprehension towards Triplett.

They've established that she's a legitimately bad liar (but is trying to get better at it.) Definitely not HYDRA.

Definitely feels like something's set up to go very wrong with that pair though.

-LAPD was to be a distraction and a way for her to seperate herself from Ward to escape.
-They don't have the money to afford nice hotels in addition to nice hotels having higher visibility and they're still wanted for being SHIELD agents
-Skye didn't have time to figure out an elegant way to notify them.
-US Special Forces were probably given permission due to the events of TWS and due to Hill's involvement.
-Cargo ramp is legitimately odd.
-May's mom is probably cold chillin back at her house enjoying her retirement.

He might redeem himself with a heroic death... and that's pretty much the only avenue I can see for him.

Hopefully not before his evil goatee grows in, though. XP
