With all these trusted sources and known insiders mods more or less confirming, I can't imagine how this can end up being some elaborate hoax. There would be a ton of confusion on who to trust from now on if it ends up being fake though.

Some really early basic guns could fit the series really well, I think.

Like revolvers, flintlock pistols, muskets, and lever-action shotguns. Imagine being able to pour gold pine resin on a pistol and have it shoot out electrically enchanted rounds.

Please keep assault rifles and that kind of shit out tho.

if you can't attach a Bloodbite Ring to an Enchanted M16 that does +45 poison stun potential to every 5th round shot out of every other magazine, with a 50% chance of parrybackstab on reload.....

The Souls series is a slow burner, I suggest going back and giving it a few hours before you throw in the towel.

The gate in the third picture could pass for Gothic Period or mid nineteenth century architecture (post Gothic Revival). The prominence of brick and stone leads me to believe this is someplace in Europe. London, perhaps?

Aside from their hats, the clothing styles of the zombies featured in same picture is reminiscent of the style worn by the working class in nineteenth century London. The raggedness of their clothes leads me to believe that some time has passed since they've died. The MC's outfit has an old western feel, which can make sense as the period started in the 1830s. Could the MC be a traveler?

I hope the game is based off of Carim from Dark Souls.

Miyazaki seemed to like dropping references to Carim in Dark Souls, and he seemed to go out of the way to include one of its inscrutable inhabitants as an anachronism in the DLC content.

I see your point..kinda sucks for Sony then, this was probably an important piece of their E3 plans (especially to garner excitement amongst the hardcore). Ah well, even if they don't "win" E3 because they lost this "megaton" they still have the game coming exclusively so they win in the long run

That would be amazing, but I just don't think it fits thematically in the Souls universe. Also, not sure how well they could do automatic weapons with the current third-person controls and mechanics they have. Would never want to see rooms with chest high walls in these games just so it could facilitate that kind of play.

If you are still having troubling figuring it out, then you can always find help around gaf or internet in general.

If you just not enjoying, then this type of game is not for you...

The Soul's game have always been very unforgiving towards impatience, I can't see this being too different.

I actually finished Dark Souls, it just isn't my type of game. I know a lot of people on here like it so I can appreciate why you are all excited. I'm not going to say that I like something just because everyone else is on board.

I've always played Demons' Souls as if it were a horror game. Moving slowly with a shield up because I know some horrible thing is going to try to kill me. Something about that mindset made me enjoy it more when I treated it more like a horror game than action game. But that's just me.

That frame of mind came in handy in 3-1...

Tons of advice and reassurance.

Normally I keep at "unforgiving" games..and I don't even want to use that word exactly. It's one of the reasons I love SRPGs. Hell, I'm currently playing through Vagrant Story again and that game can be fairly unforgiving if you haven't saved recently.

I liked what I played, I went through a sort of catacombs, went upstairs to what looked like the top of a castle/rook area, and sure enough, a dragon was just looking at me...menacingly.

I'm definitely gonna give it another shot sooner or later. I wonder what it was that just made me drop it...probably another game that I really wanted to play was available.

Well the surprise element is gone now. But I defintely agree that the trailer will be amazing. But I'm saying more for the console warrior's who could/will say that Sony didn't "have any megatons" because this was leaked earlier. Of course if Sony has more surprises in store this won't be as much of an issue!

Don't get me wrong, I am super excited about everything to do with this game, I just think (after being corrected by a few Gaffers) that this isn't how Sony wanted people to find out about the game.

My fear is that they move away from DeS/DaS combat, to a more castlevania/DMC type game for a more "broader" audience

But it is way too early to have any fears or expectations for this off a few screens.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this were a controlled leak, Sony wants something to keep people excited about the PS4 until E3. A few images is a perfect way to build up anticipation for the full trailer at E3. While it would have been great to have it be a surprise at their press conference, would anyone really be too surprised that it came about? At this point, it is defintely going to serve its purpose of getting people talking about the PS4 for the next month.

Demonite probably did what he wanted teasing this title, coming back in would be giving more information than he (and Sony) want. Not saying he is a plant or anything, I just think that he is happy giving tidbits of info to Gaf, now that the cats out of the bag he has nothing else to say until E3.

This is a controlled leak as much as Building 7 was a controlled demolition.
