RUMOR: Project Beast (From Software/Sony Japan Studio, PS4) [Port begging = ban]

Critically acclaimed at release but with a huge divide in the fanbase over if it's actually any good or not.

MGS4 got 10's all over the place, even though it's a pretty bad game and did horrible things to the Metal Gear cannon.

I don't think it's even close to a "HUGE" divide.

MGS4 on the other hand actively hurt the overall story of the universe and the past games. Regardless of what you think it's pretty easy to recognize what a mess that story is.

PS4 it is then.

Well played, Sony. Well played.

MGS4 was an amazing game... unlike MGS3.

The sort of team A versus B thing is only going to be an issue for people who don't want PS4s. Maybe A>B is accurate, but surely A+B is the best of both worlds.

Project Beast + TLG = Sony wins E3

And they have shitloads more in development that they can show from their first party studio's alone.

Wrong. All those great scores are well deserved. MGS4 is one of the best games of last gen.

But anyways...

Between the landslide of indie announcements earlier in the week-- Nidhogg in particular-- and this megaton, I'm looking at that sleek black box underneath my TV like

What leads you to believe that? The graphics don't look very good at all, so 1080p/60fps shouldn't be hard to achieve

Anything is possible. But the last 3 games have run around 30 fps (though I think at an unlocked framerate?). So that is why I think 30fps is a safe bet.

I barely play games these days.. but Dark Souls 2 was such a blast and time consuming experience. Can't wait to see how this will turn out.

Wow, if this is true, this could be huge for sony.

The people, that buy souls games are probably more or less also the people that will buy a 400$ console for just one game.

I don't even like the souls games that much because I think they are too hard, but I might also bite, because this game is a non-shameful excuse to buy pricey consumer electronics.

So... do we have any info on when Project Beast started development? As early as 2011/2012?

Could even be right after the Artorias DLC, so mid 2012. From that point Miyazaki is vanished only to appear again when DS2 was announced but he wouldn't be the director.
Miyazaki was at the time reluctant to say why the project was handed to another director.
I think we can assume that he and A-team (if you wanna call it this) were already working on Beast.

Man you have to feel for sony if this is real, that's a big e3 megaton to have been dropped prematurely.

Was this controlled? How do you mess up a "big" reveal like this almost a month before it is announced. It's not like the weekend before but the whole fucking month before.

If Sony's ship has this many holes in it, then let me know about Uncharted while we are at it

I don't want to be a dick and shit on your opinion... but really?

I honestly loved the gameplay of both, thought MGS3 had too many menus. I also thought the story was a bit bland in MGS3. Both games were pretty awesome though as far as gameplay, minus the awful slowdown. It's like Blighttown, just hammered thinly and spread all over.

This is the kind of thing like a Bungie-developed Halo game that will draw a specific audience and could turn out as more console sales for Sony. It IS a system seller to a specific gamer demographic.

Unlike Gears and Halo which are now an IP name slapped onto another developer's work, This actually has the franchise's top talent involved in its production.

As usual, Sony are underestimating a From Software exclusive. Remember how they handled Demon's Souls?

Considering how much hype this has gained in such a short time, I think its oddly worked out in people being much more excited for the conference.

Its still going to be big E3 moment if the trailer is outstanding.

Definitely looks legit. Sony do seem to have a leaks issue. Not that I care, the sooner we get news the better

edit. I remember Tretton at one E3 saying something like 'that was one that didn't leak', what game was that?

Any reasons why the major sites didn't jump on this news? It's weird that allmost none of them are reporting it, where as they never had any problems reporting rumors in the past. Maybe they have NDA's set in place?

Yes, and the audience knows this. I honestly believe investing money into this title was a smarter move then investing money into titanfall was.

Was he referring to The Order?
