The original leak mentioned it, the fact that SCEJ is co-developing, insiders like DemonNite, Thuway, BruceLeeroy, Verendus all vouching for it's legitimacy, the mods backing up the rumours, the graphical detail.
Ah, thanks. Would be nice if that info was in the OP.

4200+ replies in less than a day, the Demon's Souls spiritual succesor thirst is real!!

Sony E3 is gonna be awesome.

Man I'm currently playing DS2 on the PC, but thinking of replaying Demon's Soul on the PS3 too.

It would suck if this was their TGS reveal game. That's a long wait for hear more. They should just show it at E3 now that it has already leaked.

I have a feeling this was pulled from being shown last year. The leaked video is probably not a recent one.

Imagine Sony E3 conf take some spotlight for Japanese dev. First 3rd parties (FFXV, RE7...) then 1st party (Beast, TLG). This will be glorious.

Thats the dream. I really want the Japanese to return to their forms in previous E3's.

Look at the 2001 press conference there was:

Devil May Cry
Jak and Daxter
Klonoa 2
Metal Gear Solid 2
Silent Hill 2[

Anyone else watching the Project Dark trailer over and over in preporation for their face to be melted?

People making gifs of everything regardless of the low quality off screen footage. Gaping Dragon related.

Also it's crazy how the cgi scene never made it to the full game not even for a starting loop or a trailer. This is the only footage we have of it and that makes me pretty sad.

There is never enough games. More choice is always better.

yes!

I don't really believe in system sellers anymore, but I do believe that high quality games propel the system to do better. It's all about the system catalog/line up after all.

This is pretty much exactly on point. I hear often the idea that Sony needs to focus on AAA, but the thing is they already have and are continuing to announce a big lineup of AAA. They're getting basically every third party game, games like Destiny and Watchdogs are being co-marketed by them. They have their own strong lineup of AAAs in development.

But I think in this day and age, "killer app" is actually a proliferation of games, a combined strong argument that your system is going to be covered by the wide spectrum of genres and gameplay types, art styles and control method. The more a customer might feel satisfied that their idiosyncratic tastes are being satisfied, the more likely that person is going to think that system is for the. The wider a net one casts, the more and more developers big and small they allow on, the greater statistical likelihood of them stumbling upon an idea that appeals to an as yet even greater number of potential gamers.

I absolutely think indie games factor into that argument, same as games like Project Beast do.

The PS4 catalog is very rich in indie titles already, time for Sony to boost up the AAA selection now.

It's not one or the other, ya know. They don't have to turn off the indie game tap in order for the Beast Project tap to start to open up. ;)

And besides, while there is a technical distinction, in the end it's just labels that don't really have to be there. They're all just games made by teams of various sizes, which come in all forms and scales. They cover all genres, all graphics qualities, every little bizarre gameplay quirk. I think people tend to like to segment these things into categories to such a degree... until such point it actually becomes adversarial in the minds of some. Almost like: 'oh god, they're gonna show indie games at E3! That's somehow not as important! Let's get on to the AAA games please!' Like one is merely a time filler as people wait for the other.

Anyway, this isn't necessarily aimed at you, just felt like saying it since I see it so often. PS4 is indie rich and AAA rich, neither of which inherently needs a boost over the other. It's not like indie games are winning some battle uphill. It's just that obviously since an indie game can be made by anyone from a single person to a fairly sizable crew of people, there's just more people to make those types of games. And generally that talent pool is not sapping away any development strength from the AAA side.

Holy moly, I don't ever remember seeing that trailer, but that was awesome. Also, the way that guy just kind of stands there in that GIF before getting eaten alive makes me chuckle for some reason. It would actually make a pretty good "Banned" GIF haha.

You mean the PC version

Which is weird. You'd think people would be gushing over being able to be summoned to another player's world in less than 30 seconds...(fuck the PS3 physical version of this game. Why Sony still has yet to allow full installs on games after 360 has allowed it for nearly 5 years, I still can't understand.)

Project Beast, MGSV, X, KH3, FFXV, Deep Down, etc. are shaping this gen into a rebirth for Japanese gaming. Hopefully these companies deliver and get over last gens growing pains because these games look incredible. Also, the Japanese market needs to pick up in sales over the coming years so we can really see it shine.

On topic now. they have to introduce some cool new mechanics and ideas. After basically three Souls games the formula might start to get old. Gotta keep it fresh. I have high hopes.

GAF isn't a PC-centric forum.

Issues perhaps with how the system works, nevermind that some (at this point most) games do a partial install and that would plausibly mess with that.

But that's why it isn't as big of a deal outside of a few weird cases, usually the partial installs are good enough from what I've seen. And a full install may not help much, ACV has a full install and still has lengthy loads, and I'd probably need to dig up DSII download anecdotes anyway.

The main character has got a tin of red paint but doesn't realise it has a leak. The monster is looking at the leaking paint flying out of the tin and is telling the main character about this. The main character will presumably stab him in the chest as a way of saying thank you.

Or maybe not.

That's an impressive gallery of designs, wow. He did some of the most iconic characters. Enemy/boss art was definitely weaker in DkS II I felt.

Yup, he worked in both DeS and DS but not DS2, i hope that means that Miyazaki kept him for his own project rather than him not doing work for FROM anymore.

I never really liked Demons souls, I found it cheap, unintuitive and unforgiving to a point of being broken, but I respected its mechanics and some of the design it brought to the table.

This looks really cool, I just hope its more intuitive and forgiving.

And this thread has been absolutely worth watching PC gamers salivating...sorry I can't help but take pleasure in that...

What CGI scene are you talking about? If you're talking about the gif, pretty sure that's in-game, just with super cool lighting to make it look nicer.

If you take it slowly and carefully it really isn't so bad. Though Dark Souls was far more intuitive with its stat icons, I just sorta winged it in Demon's Souls but actually GOT IT in Dark Souls.
