Like many others on this thread I'm cautiously sceptical about this, especially because it reminds me of the CG intro to DkS II, and this could just be an intro to a DLC.

There is only so many times you can spin-off a spin-off. I hope this is Demon's Souls 2, instead of something else that fractures the series further. My own opinions of course!
Next-gen Armoured Core would be delish.
New IP even more so.

Oh I still like and watch the US (I'm American) but I hate the fake drama. Gordon Ramsay forever though.

With all the hardware out now, its all about games and these are some of the best E3 events for me. Everyone has to impress with games.

I wouldn't want this to be called Demon's Souls 2, but I think Sony should try to build a metaverse of a Souls franchise of their own.
Soul Sacrifice, Demon's Souls, and whatever this game is could easily be part of the same stylistic universe.

Yeah it's a shame. But UK tv is like that I guess, with short run original series. I was just comparing from a creative pov.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Played through DS1 and now working my way through DS2. Great games, but nothing in DS1 or 2 has come close yet to that level in Demon's Souls.
The atmosphere in Demon's is so different, so much more dreadful and horror-like. Praise the sun REALLY meant something in that game.
Why stop there? Why not add time exclusivity for HL3 and new Red Dead?
In reality, looking at that list, at this E3 we will MAYBE get Beast Souls. Maybe.
Like Sony and Demon's Souls From Software can always make an spiritual series of that game for multiplatforms. There is not much to worry about. This might be exclusive but if Sony doesnt pursue them for another game they might as well pull a Dark Souls with Project Beast. Give a "Spiritual Sequel" that pretty much does the same things with some changes to make differences.
Play Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1 or 2 and then ask yourself why isn't the thread even bigger
So many people want a direct sequel. I wonder how long Sony can sit on the Demon's Souls name before it becomes old. Whatever this ends up being, it looks damn cool and is pretty much trademark From/Souls.
I would love to see the SS series really take off because I think the whole world looks so amazing.

Dark Souls 2 was good, but let's be honest, it was not on the level of Demon's Souls or Dark Souls. The reason for this is simple, Dark 2 was missing heart. That absent heart left when the lead designer moved on to work on this game (fingers crossed), hence Souls fans are going ape shit over the prospect of a next gen Souls game formulated by the originator of the series.
P's. I'm one of those losing it at the moment. If I could pre-order this game. I'd pre-order it twice so I could slide a copy down my pants and gently massage my nuts and the game simultaneously.

As someone pointed out, the atmosphere is more moody, but the biggest differences were in online play which you probably won't be able to enjoy now.
Personally I think Demon's is the best of the 3 games, but that's just my opinion.

I don't think mainstream sites want to say "4chan" in an article.
Probably not, Sony wouldn't refuse cert for a port of DS2, it's either going to happen or Namco don't want to do it for some reason.

I quite liked Stonefang too, descending into a maze of tunnels not knowing if I'd remember how to get out, then finding that lake of lava at the bottom. The levels in DeS were more "tall" and intricately designed, whereas DS1 levels individually were less so, but more intricately entwined, which was also pretty cool on its own of course.

is it namcos call anymore? didnt kadokawa just buy from software?
In my recent thread about Souls there was some confusing and conflicting information about who owns the IP rights for Dark Souls, but Namco certainly own the Western publishing rights for the first two, so it's their call for the ones so far, a Dark Souls 3 however, who knows.
Namco still publish the title. Kadokawa will be whatever comes after. Maybe they could make the call if they are funding the ports.

Well, you may be right, but i still think is very strange that there has been no confirmation so far for a DS2 for PS4/XBO, even with all the hype that would sure have.
I still think that it may have something to do with this Beast game being a PS4 exclusive...

Professionalism isn't this media's forte, but I digress. My guess 4chan is too anonymous for them, if it's someone in GAF you could go "insider XXXX who leaked X Y and Z before" and make a big deal out o fit but "normal" people won't take you seriously if you cite a completely anonymous source.
Maybe for the PS4 but MS would surely want it grab an Exclusive for it if Sony is holding back no?
Kadokawa want to strengthen their gaming arm, since they are mainly magazine, anime and manga. From has remained on its own for a while and most small companies get purchases sooner or later. What it could mean is Kadokawa throwing loads of cash at From to get bigger and make more titles...or it could just mean From carries on as normal and Kadokawa just handle the publishing stuff. They want to push oversea's and From has a reputation now.
I totally disagree with this. And Im going apeshit because Souls is awesome. Not because of the possible director, or system it ends up being on.

I don't think it has any effect since this project started a long time ago and it's also probably being funded by Sony.
Only 1 gaffer ( besides Demon ) on the hyper train, it's a failure.
