What could Microsoft show at E3 to finally get you to buy an Xbox One?

Honestly if Titanfall had included a single player along with the multiplayer, I might have bought an Xbone then.

Me too. I want one good excuse to buy an Xbox One and Titanfall SP would have been it. I guess I will jump in when one of the big exclusives happen but I am buying a mid range title once a fortnight on PS4 so the longer I wait the more default the PS4 becomes.

Sunset Overdrive could be it.
Quantum Break could be it depending on how much TV poisoning it has.
A couple of decent Kinect games would be a big help, I love Dance Central.
Something new and actiony without being gunbro.

Finally? I bought mine at launch.

What can they show to make me use the thing for anything other than voice navigation for TV and Movies?

Halo 2 Anniversary this year.

Halo 4 Trailer.

Crackdown 2

Gears 4 realtime teaser (Wont happen)

Those are really the only things I can think of.

Any multiplats I will get on PS4 for the performance/hardware difference. So the only things I am looking forward too on my XBO are exlusive titles that I can't buy on PC.

Why does this feel like a marketing study. A simple what do you expect vs a what can we do to convince you to buy an Xbox. Anyone else find this strange?

It would be very difficult to convince me to go back to subHD gaming and Microsoft has no power (studios) to do it.

A price drop and a must have new IP maybe. Otherwise I am completely content with my PC and PS4 for the forseeable future.

I also have no interest whatsoever in the Kinect, so a Kinect-less SKU would be more appealing to me.

No? I think we get 2-3 what would it take for Nintendo threads a month. With E3 coming up, people laying out expectations for entry (even if completely absurd because they have no intention of ever buying an Xbox One or reasonable to actually happen in a month) is nothing new either. See the what do you expect thread for Sony's conference. We have a negative thread and a what do you expect in general from Microsoft as well.

I struggle to gather the money to buy my PS4 right now, and I was on Sony's defense force in the last generation, so I don't think I'll be buying an Xbone any time soon.

I would buy one if:
  1. Microssof buys Exclusivity for more than 75% of the upcoming AAA games.
  2. All their games, including the Digital indies, get released in a retail form. (I hate buying digital).
  3. Their games cost 50euros or less by default.
  4. I get 1 million Euros... by Microsoft...
  5. Get rid of Kinect...
  6. The 80% of their announced futures that don't work in my country... start working in my country.
  7. Release a new model without Kinect or day1 patch that have 1/4 of it's current size and have some super cool unique future like giving blowjobs.

The console has flaws that can only be ignored with a great lineup of first party exclusives.

a price drop isn't a magic bullet, significant sales at many retailers didn't do shit. It looks awful to see it back at $499 after all the deals though.

Nothing really. I game less days, and its mostly obscure JRPGs, Hunting Games and MMORPGs. PS4, Vita and PC suit my needs and certainly satisfy these genres well. No reason to own all consoles just for the sake of being obsessive.

Plus, I think that people are way too forgiving when its comes to what MS wanted - and failed - to do.

$299.99 with Kinect since it's really a part of the boxes distinguishing features though a mic could probably do what it spends the most time doing, and live becomes $25.00 for a year so I wouldn't be as hesitant to sign up for it with already being a PS+ member. Games from studios that they own, I really don't know what games since MS exclusives never really enticed me but if they can entice me, at a reasonable price point I would be interested.

Double down on Kinect, show revolutionary Kinect feature on every Major IP.
Make Kinect so mind blowing until future me say "how can any game play without Kinect?"

When you open the disc tray for the first time, a small greeting card emerges in an ivory colored envelope. On the card, with impeccable penmanship, is written "Sorry for being total dillholes. Sincerely, Microsoft"

Yanking out the Kinect and putting it at 399 will get me to purchase one. Its really not that complex

I just do not feel like paying for something i do not want

I'm actually still a bit angry about their original used games policies and that terrible 'must connect within 24 hours before the console basically becomes useless'.

They must blow the PS4 away for me to consider the XB1 right now.

Sunset Overdrive could be it.

Really though, a huge price drop. $299 with Kinect - Not much cheaper than current bundles are presently actually.

Gears of War - I'll buy one the day that releases. (Unless some freak accident they decide to make it just like Judgment.)

Also : Better value for XBox Live. I already have a PS4 so I'm seriously annoyed my Xbox 360 has been collecting dust unable to do basic things like Netflix because though I paid for Netflix streamed over the internet I paid for onto the Xbox I paid for I haven't also paid for Live. I loved Microsoft last generation but they've made some stupid decisions this one. (No built-in battery? Wha?)

1. Price drop to at least $400 with Kinect or $350 without
2. Exclusives
3. Drop the paywalls

The Titanfall bundle hit $424 at Target with one year XBL. To me #1 was hit shortly after that bundle appeared. 2 and 3 are on the money.

Look i got nothing against Microsoft and Xbox, i think they're doing good and'll eventually repair their current situation. But i'm just not interested in their existing IP's(the only one was Fable but that was for the first 2 chapters).
I just have a natural tendency to Sony's consoles, guess that growing up with ps1 shows it's effects lol.
I guess the only case would be if MS got all the 3rd party games i'm interested and turn them in exclusive lol.

Nothing really

I'm not interested in having more than one console and ps4 will be default machine for Japanise companies for everything else I have pc so keeping that money to upgrade gpu when 20nm cards are released is much better investment for me.

Project Gotham Racing 5 was and still is my only condition. Oh and it can't be released within a week of a major title either.

.

Yup. Although now they have forza horizon I suppose they think their 'sim/arcade hybrid racer' box is checked?

To get one this year?..I doubt its going to happen...my conditions are too unrealistic..

Fall 2014
- $349
- Forza 6
- Halo 5

Fall 2015
- $299
- Forza 6
- Halo 5

Got mine at launch anyway, but stuff that hasn't been announced already that I'd be delighted about would include Perfect Dark 2 and Banjo Threeie, hopefully by Rare but after how good Killer Instinct was I'd be pleased to see them handed over to another studio.

I don't see myself ever buying the bone. I guess there's a possibility if they buy the exclusivity of one of my favorite game franchises combined with a kinect-less SKU with a significant price drop

  • Have a brief presentation in which they explicity state that they recognize that their online DRM only vision was a horrid idea toxic to gaming
  • Introduce new higher-ups in charge the Xbone that are passionate about gaming and dedicated to it
  • Reveal an absolute shitton of Japanese exclusives

what could they show that would make me buy a xbox one?

maybe a release date for my aparently shitty little country that isnt important enough to have it

Well it isn't released in the netherlands yet so tier 2 country. Maby..if they dump kinect. I am very skeptical about it. Also removing gold for all free apps that are all ready to use on PS3/4 and PC for example.

I don't believe the rumors of RE7 being exclusive or of that P* exclusive game, but that said either of those and a price drop would do the trick.
That or further down the road if they start releasing Cave shooters exclusive on X1.

More games. I already have an Xbox One and I can only say two things about it, Titanfall is awesome and the arcade games are promising.

I probably use it more than any other device though.

I won't buy either of current-gen consoles this year but the supposed Platinum Games exclusive would be pretty good counter for Beast Souls.

(I don't want either game to be exclusive but what do I know).

Price drop would be very welcome but all I want to see is what they are planning for the next year and beyond. TV shows and all that stuff don't interest me but games do. Hopefully some long-dormant IP's make a comeback.

A price drop.

Removing Kinect, It still hasnt worked after this long. Mind boggling.

Games for Gold on XB1 would be nice.

That would definitely get me interested.
