Or they simply changed it. A lot of them probably aren't even set in stone yet.
Why would they do that? They're better off making their own at that rate.

I thought sales from ds2 were evenly split between 360 and ps3, were they not?
From seems OK ignoring the 5 million xb1/PC owners for demon 2, but not the 7 million for ds3? Ehhh.
I think if ms gave some money/marketing, and allowed a PC release as well, I think we could see the series become exclusive to one another.

Again, in the case of Dark Souls 3 all Microsoft would do is preventing other versions to be made since Dark Souls sells pretty well as a multiplatform title.
Project Beast on the other hand probably wouldn't even exist without Sony's funding in the first place. Just like Demon's Souls.

In order to add some additional reasoning to purchase the xbox one in Japan, I can see MS doing that. I'd be shocked however, since they tried and failed at this practice during the inception of the 360. Still, I guess we must wait and see...

you're acting as if From is saying "yeah forget about xb1/PC for this game", first of all Sony owns the Demons Souls IP so Idk what you're even getting at with this, but this game in question wouldn't even be in production if not for Sony making it happen financially.

No. The sales lean significantly to playstation. Your looking at a 70/30 split.

They're OK with it because Sony would be footing the bill for development.
Dark Souls doesn't belong to MS so there's going to be an extra layer of complexity in negotiating costs and profits with Namco (or Kadokawa idk).

It would make no sense for MS to buy Dark Souls. They'd be losing major money since they'd have to pay for potential PS4 sales. Better off investing in their own studios/new IP.

I know about these two games lol. Thing is, MS tried and failed at this tactic via these two games in the past, so I would be extremely skeptical. It's not completely out of the realm of possibly, yes that is true. MS has some deep pockets after all.
It would take a LOT of money to buy exclusivity this gen, especially when you're a distant second place.

Oh fuck. I hope this does not affect the quality of future From Software titles. They really are a great developer.
Kill Strain itself is such a dumb name. But as a subtitle it does seem more acceptable.
Probably terribly, but it would be an easier sell now that FROM is seen as something of a premier developer.

Really difficult to know. Kadokawa are way bigger than From but their main background is Magazines, manga and Anime. They want to push their gaming side, so buying From makes sense. It is either they will grow the team and throw money at them to make more games...or they will just leave them as they are and just deal with publishing.

I think that the DkS2 team are going to work on a next gen Armoured Core. Its there next big IP, the DkS2 team is mainly compromised from people who made those games as well.

Think sales were split in the NA but when it comes to EU and Japan that not the case.
Either way after this game we have to see where From going to go cause now own by Kadokawa .

Id think that they have their own specific team for Armored Core considering the size of the studio now.

Assuming EU sold the same number as US I think we could approximate it like this:
US: 350k --- 175k PS3 175k 360
EU: 350k --- 200k PS3 150k 360
JP: 350k --- 350k PS3
So --- 725k PS3 325k 360

Over 2:1 ratio for both Souls game, I don't really see it going exclusive in any way. FROM basically profits from this the most. Make Dark Souls every 2 to 2.5 years on all consoles, make money. Make Demons Souls IP funded partly by Sony and maybe even get some dev help, make money.
Dammit, that's what I get for forgetting how the search function works. lol
That's just retail, PS3 version probably had a few tens of thousands more digital copies sold in NA.
Also, if I had to make a wild guess, the PC version could wind up doing similar numbers to the 360 worldwide.

From Soft really needs a big break with Armored Core in the west like what they accomplished with Demon's/Dark.If they ever manage to do this (especially now that they have Kadokawa's money to back them up with bigger budgets) i can see them getting (in the future) as big as Square Enix now is.
They just need another big international break IMO.
