So...

I think everyone agrees that this leak seems genuine

Why is no media (giantbomb, gamespot, ign, eurogamer etc) reporting it? They usually report fart less certain rumors

Some sort of nda?

Media 'industry insiders' that give us all those accurate news lately haven't read the memo.

Seriously now, i'd go for lazy weekend or NDA.

Famitsu says 10% so this is obviously a hoax.

I usually am very critical with rumors, if one thing in them doesn't sound right i call bs immediately, and i'm mostly right in the end.
I have a very good feeling about this one, and everything we've seen look legit to me.
In my opinion those screens ain't 'shopped or anything, if they are fakes then it's a mod and if it's a mod FROM should hire the guy(s) yesterday.

Nope. That means it'd have to have been shown. Most of the press have speculated about Demon's Souls 2.

I suspect, it's a few things:

  • That it leaked on Friday evening
  • That most of the rumour's substance comes from 4chan
  • It's harder to verify Japanese stuff for Western journalists.

I think they aren't posting anything because all they could do is say "Here are some screenshots from 4chan!" They are likely waiting for comments from Sony so they can actually contribute something to the story.

It could be, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 2015 title.

True, & Understanding, have to make room for next years E3 not to mention TGS & Gamescom, with all this Trademarking sony has been doing lately possibly more info at TGS or Gamescom in regards to their recently trademarked games

And a major downgrade for everyone who enjoyed Souls on PC. So yeah...I'm not happy about that rumor I must say. If From proved anything in the past then that they can do beautiful art and atmosphere, but they pretty much don't give a shit for tech, especially framerate. It's a hardcore game for the hardcores, so why not provide maximum playability and take a dump on shadow res or tesslation or whatever, if necessary...we'll see.
I prefer 30fps more than salt.

Yeah 60fps on Dark Souls 2 is honestly amazing. I hope they do achieve that level of performance on the PS4 with this new game, it's really smooth.

Alright guys, thanks for your input about possible timeframes for release, a couple pages back.

Sounds good, so there's a very good chance that by May 2015, I'll be playing whatever game Project Beast is, on PS4

Put me on the hype train!

You really like that gif dont you? :p

I wonder how dissapointed people will be if this strays too far from the basic Souls formula. Seems to me most people already expect this to be pretty much the same game as previous ones.

If this is going to stray further from the formula it will probably drop the Souls name. It's not as if it won't sell, considering it's a platform exclusive for a system that has a tiny library so far. The only way I can see two concurrent "Souls" type games is if Project Beast is significantly different in key areas, whether that's thematic (art/tone) or through gameplay.

If that's the case, the team that worked on Dark Souls 2 will probably continue to iterate on it as a multiplatform series. Seeing how well the PC version is doing even with the staggered release is something they have to take advantage of. I think it could be a really good thing to have the more iterative Dark Souls games while having another series experiment in new and different directions.

With all these recent trademarks being filled, I am just wondering how often are games unveiled at E3 before trademarks are filled in. And if that is the case, what's the deal with these recent name grabings. I am just wondering since, nothing with Beast has been filled. Could it mean that we won't see anything in the near future.

The title probably doesn't have "Beast" in it at all. Developers always have these little code names for their games.

I don't think we have anything compelling to suggest it isn't real, and the evidence supporting it is really good. Everything we've seen/heard matches up.

Bloody hell at DemonNite straight up announcing Shadow of the Beast 2 months early.

My favorite insider. No need for crappy spelling, the truth is in plain sight.

Its a shame this E3 seems a lot less leaky then the last one. We knew nearly everything by now last year.

True, the reason people think it will is because Dark Souls was code named Project Dark. So it's not a crazy conclusion to make that it may have beast in the title.

i'm thinking the difference will be primarily the former. & i'm hoping that the game is open-ended, rather than as conclusive as demon's & dark were. iow, i'd like a game set in a particular location in a much larger world, leaving things open for further games set in other locations in that same world (yes, i've been reading china mieville :) )...

Playing Demon's Souls for the 3rd time. Already put 300 hours into it since launch and the encounters are still as tense as ever. One thing I wish Project Beast would bring back that the DaS series didn't are the Pure black and white world tendencies. Just flash it out further with double the outcomes.Really makes coming back a lot more entertaining at least what I feel about DeS.

They can call it pure beauty world and beast world tendency.

Nah, having everything leaked ruins the show for me.

You're derailing the thread more than they are.
It's a bit premature to say that. I've only had you reply to me this far. :) (Edit: (+1 now)
And at least I'm not spreading this over multiple threads.
Anyway it was just a question, so if you're basically saying no then I can't really argue about this with a mod can I? :)

The server median for world tendency was really annoying. If they bring back the Demon's Souls system I'd hope they'd at least make individual progress persistent between sessions.

Yeah that's what should be improved for Project Beast. Always had to log off from PSN to change tendencies for specific items.

I will be really sad if it's an exclusive, I love Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2, but I would be really bothered by the framerate these games usually get on the consoles.

To be honest though, I'm not particularly impressed by these graphics, I know these are very compressed screenshots, but looking at it closely it kinda looks like a slight upgrade from Dark Souls 2, hopefully there will some official info released soon.

I'm hoping for in-game footage.

Lord... I don't expect it to be, but I SO want this at E3. I want to see and know more. PLEASE!

I think its nearly a lock for E3. These games are not very popular in the east, it would make no sense to hold it back for TGS assuming they are ready to show it off this year.

Because hoping for 60 fps is somehow offensive.
Well, it's not, but neither is hoping for better graphics (at 30FPS) or really even hoping for a port. None of that is offensive, but when you have to read it over and over for weeks and months in every thread for every game, it does become tiresome.
