I'm thinking they can trade up to 4-5 for Watkins or trade to 6 to leap over Tampa for Evans.
6 makes sense if Atlanta covets Lewan more than Matthews as many suspect.

The only gamble there is that Minnesota trades down to someone who might covet Lewan more.
They would also have to trust that Tampa Bay would grab Beckham Jr. instead of a tackle themselves.

4-5 would be a must for Watkins and that would still depend on the Jags passing him up for Mack.

Why are you so intent nof ruining the personal life of every QB?

Oh and reported.

Russell freed himself before he had to give up half his big contract! If anything we did him a favor. Now he can live his life as a young superstar athlete and enjoy all the spoils that come with it!

Did someone say HoCar?

When you are all enjoying the draft tomorrow night remember to give thanks to the Philadelphia Eagles:

In late 1934, Art Rooney, owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, gave the right of usage of two players to the New York Giants because Rooney's team had no chance to participate in the post-season. After the owner of the Boston Redskins, George Preston Marshall, protested the transaction, the president of the NFL, Joe F. Carr, disallowed the Giants the ability to employ the players. At a league meeting in December 1934, the NFL introduced a waiver rule to prevent such transactions. Any player released by a team during the season would be able to be claimed by other teams. The selection order to claim the player would be in inverse order to the teams' standings at the time.

Throughout this time, Bert Bell, co-owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, felt his team's lack of competitiveness on the field made it difficult for the Eagles to sell tickets and to be profitable. Compounding the Eagles problems was players signed with teams that offered the most money, or if the money being equal, players chose to sign with the most prestigious teams at the time, who had established a winning tradition. As a result, the NFL was dominated by the Chicago Bears, the Green Bay Packers, the Giants and the Redskins. Bell's inability to sign a desired prospect, Stan Kostka, in 1935, eventually led Bell to believe the only way to for the NFL to have enduring success was for all teams to have an equal opportunity to sign eligible players. At a league meeting on May 18, 1935, Bell proposed a draft be instituted to enhance the competitive parity on the field in order to ensure the financial viability of all franchises. His proposal was adopted unanimously that day, although the first draft would not occur until the next off-season.

The rules for the selection of the players in the first draft were, first, that a list of college seniors would be assembled by each franchise and submitted into a pool. From this pool, each franchise would select, in inverse order to their team's record in the previous year, a player. With this selection, the franchise had the unilateral right to negotiate a contract with that player, or the ability to trade that player to another team for a player, or players. If for any reason, the franchise was unsuccessful in negotiating a contract with the player and was unable to trade the player, the president of the NFL, could attempt to arbitrate a settlement between the player and the franchise. If the president was unable to settle the dispute, then the player would be placed in the reserve list of the franchise and would be unavailable to play for any team in the NFL that year. In the 1935 NFL season, the Eagles finished in last place at 2-9, thus securing themselves the first pick in the draft.

* I’m told while the Cleveland Browns like Manziel they don’t like him enough to use the fourth pick of the draft on him. The name that continues to pop up for the franchise at that selection is receiver Mike Evans. Over the past week there are three scenarios I continue to hear for the Browns at four:
1) Receiver at pick four (likely Evans) then a trade back into the middle of round one if Manziel slides out of the top ten.
2) Receiver at pick four and a quarterback and cornerback with the next two selections. Trading back into the first round to select a quarterback is a consideration. I can confirm Cleveland has contacted teams in the bottom half of round one about making the move if necessary.
3) Blake Bortles the dark horse at pick four.

JFF & Evans! Dream is alive !
I can envision trade down maybe to 6 or so if possible and Evans, trade back up to secure a Qb. Like the idea of pairing Evans with Gordon alittle more than Watkins

So all that talk yesterday about "No JFF at 4" was just a..........

Grossi pretty adamantly shot down idea of JFF to CLE in top 10 after a trade down
Once again when it comes to things like this, I don't listen to Grossi.
He's not plugged in like you think, but really none of the beat writers or anyone really knows what's gonna happen
Edit: I've heard what Grossi has to say, and he would have you believe JFF is totally off the Browns Board. With is pretty much his opinion and not true. It might seem like I'm bias against Grossi but I hear what he has to say pretty much everyday on the radio, and I'm well exposed to him.

I just heard an awesome rumor.

If JFF falls to Ravens, they will take him and look to trade Flacco. One interested team linked to a Flacco trade is Houston, with Clowney going to Baltimore for Flaccs.

Oh wait, that was from my wet dream last night.

I think the OBR guy also said that CLE wasn't interested as well. Just seemed like the CLE media were aligned on that, but I'll take your word for it since you are there

First 15 picks of Mayocks final mock draft are up on nfl.com no manziel. Johnny football to Cowboys at 16 imminent

There is no way Manziel falls out of the top 10..Absolutely none...Too many teams in need of a QB, and regardless of talent, needing to just fill seats...Also, no way with no QB taken that the Vikings don't take one at 8...Those top 15 picks are just wrong..guessing click bait..fooling me though..

Still think he'll be #1...It just doesn't make any sense for him not to be..

I enjoyed this from WalterFootball.com regarding the #1 pick:

*** OTHER 2014 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Trade Down - No, not Khalil Mack. That would be ridiculous and wouldn't make any sense. The only way Houston isn't picking Clowney at No. 1 is if it moves down, and the only way that's happening is if it gets a Robert Griffin-type package.

The picture they chose for the front page for that article is killing me.

I am really liking the "Browns aren't actually interested in Manziel, but they love Bridgewater" narrative that is going down. Make it happen Farmer!

A RB and a TE getting drafted before Mack, Robinson, or Matthews? Come on son.

Robinson and Matthews are great players, I dont rate Mack, only seen him a couple of games though.

That's his Big Board, not necessarily a mock draft order.

I definitely don't think Lewan is better than Matthews or Robinson, and I don't think Derek Carr is the 3rd best player in the draft.

Well, Carr has done nothing wrong the last two years. He is a 5th year senior so you know what you are going to get and I think he is very undervalued due to his brother being a flop. He has the best football IQ of all the QBs in the draft in my opinion, just not the flair of Manziel.

Lewan is a leader which I think puts himself ahead of Matthews. I also think Matthews gets overvalued because of this dad.

Curious where Bridgewater will end up, seemed since his Pro Day, no one has really talked about him much.

He's a choker, so I expect low second round or maybe still available in the third round.

Manziel, Carr, Bortles, Murray, Mettenburger, Boyd, McCarron, and even Shaw from the Camecocks are all ahead of him in my book.

I think Manziel goes to the Titans.

I don't have cable. Is the nfl.com stream going to be the same as the TV broadcast, or should I go somewhere to watch the draft?

NFL.com stream, if I remember correctly from past years, don't show ads. They cut back to guys in their LA studio during these times.

Also they stay with the LA studio for longer periods than the crew live in New York so it's slightly different than what airs on NFL Network.

The build up to this draft, as a Rams season ticket holder, has been entertaining. The sports radio talk shows are going to be awesome on Friday.

Oh I agree, he made it so people would talk. All about those clicks

There has been so much talk of it but I just don't see it happening. I'd love a trade down but you got to find someone who would want to trade up.

I know Sammy is the best WR in the draft, but he's a #1 wideout type of guy. Are you REALLY going to keep two #1 wideouts when your secondary is as porous as Detroit's is?

Exactly it makes no sense. This is the deepest receiver draft in ages, we can easily find great talent in the second round or even the third. Moncrief, that 6'5 WR from FSU, etc; Marquise Lee could fall to the second round.

I want to trade down a bit and get another pick. Given Chris Houston's injury I think we could go CB: I'd take Denard from MSU. If we stay at 10 I could see us taking Anthony Barr or that Pitt DT (to replace Fairley and/or Suh next season).
