Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Remakes Announced for 3DS

Seriously, Pokemon gameplay takes priority over canon.
Here's Whitney's gym in Heartgold and Soulsilver. It's shaped like a Clefairy, a Normal type Pokemon to fit the Normal type gym. X and Y have now retconned Clefairy's type to be pure Fairy instead of Normal, so the design no longer makes any sense. That's just one example of many similar changes.
So please, stop saying "this can't happen because it would contradict X game". As long as it's something gameplay related like new Pokemon or moves or typing or forms or abilities or whatever, it takes priority over canon.

No, Pokemon eggs are actually retconned every single time you talk to the daycare man, so that they're discovered for the first time in history each time you get one. That's why the day care man is so surprised, it's the only explanation. Gamefreak doesn't really care about continuity.
There's no reason to believe the old canon was completely retconned until their respective remakes appeared. FRLG made the events that transpired in RBY removed from canon as HGSS did to GSC, nothing in Ruby and Sapphire explicitly alluded to the two sets of games before it being non-canon, unless you believe that the loss of backwards compatibility does this in itself.
There's the updated canon, and there's everything before it, Ruby and Sapphire will almost certainly join everything before as the remakes change some of the events that occurred. I mean, do you think that both RS and Emerald are "canon" by Gamefreak's terms, even though many things are changed even between them?
lol dude the main reason it's my least favorite generation was because of the backwards compatibility being cut, I only over-exaggerated it sometimes for yucks or minor reddit trolling as I certainly don't hate the games. Stop being creppy and lurking my reddit posts, I probably post there once every few weeks anyways.

Pikachu just got the lines of the original legendaries. I highly doubt this theory. More likely something to do with Mega Evolution. Or both - orbs could be their Mega Stones.

They had Steel/Dark and eggs before they were discovered in GSC.
Look at the Clefairy example I posted. Do you think X and Y retconned out Heartgold and Soulsilver?

I was thinking of something similar to this and even went to watch Gaining Groudon to see if the lines on Kyogre's head show up when Archie controls it.
They didn't, only the lines on its flippers showed up.

But X and Y happened after heart gold and soul silver, Clefairy wasn't known to be fairy before then.

The current topic at hand reminds me, can GF remove requiring certain pokemon to hold items and be traded to evolve as well as incense. They are needless and only further complicate things.
So all along Clefairy has been holding out on us pretending to faint from dragon attacks only to be immune to them entirely. Those sneaky little devils.

Fairies weren't discovered in X and Y, IIRC. The people in the game talk about them like they've known about them for a while.
Also, I think they should have taken the hint when the "Normal type" took half damage from a Fighting move.

The same way Metagross was pretending to be neutral to Dark and Ghost attacks, when secretly they always where super effective. Metagross from the Kalos region must be wimps LOL.

Am I the only 1 thinking that we'll also see a new Red/Blue/Gold/Silver remakes for the 3DS?
With the DS online functions ending later this month, there's not gonna be an easy way to get the Pokémons from those games. You also can't use the Pokémon Bank, considering that only works with Black/White/Black 2/White 2 and X/Y.
So I'm expecting Nintendo will be releasing 2 more remakes to give people the chance to truly get all Pokémon on the Pokémon bank.

What? There's absolutely no need to do that. Obtaining a full Pokédex is easy now, and Emerald had a ridiculous variety of Pokémon available. Give Kanto a rest, please.
It'd be easy even without ORAS, yet here we are with remakes of games that still maintain some sort of connectivity and have all of their native Pokemon obtainable in past DS games that are compatible with the newest Nintendo handheld.
Nobody would force you to buy a remake of somebody else's favorite generation, whether it be the now two likely candidates Kanto or Sinnoh.

Iwata confirmed they're remakes in a financial briefing earlier today.
Say what? The wifi connection has nothing to do with transferring gen 3 and gen 4 to gen 5.
The online functions don't affect the difficulty of getting Pokemon from these games at all. It's a pain, but the online functions have nothing to do with that.

Your current options are transfer through your own games, which doesn't take the internet, or trade for stuff inside x and y, because other people have everything in gen 6 by now. I don't get how wifi in gen 4 and 5 games has anything to do with catching stuff in xy.
The 3DS's music font might very well make Lilycove City's theme my favorite in the series. As much as people harp on the trumpets in the soundtrack, it's the poor playback quality of the GBA hardware that damaged the soundtrack for me; the composition of the music is superb for the most part.

there's those twins really early on in X/Y that refer to Fairies as a new discovery.

This is a bad example, since it's explained in X&Y that the Fairy type is a recent discovery. Just like how Steel is described to be a recent discovery in G/S/C/HG/SS.
Oh, looks like Game Freak might actually care about continuity after all...
Those sneaky fairies have just pretended to be normal\whatever types to hide that they are actually extraterrestrials.

Those numbers are insanely high for a company that's having sales difficulty right now. Especially for Tomodachi.
