Ward probably had the same sort of abusive relationship with his brother as he does with Garret. I don't think he likes Garret at all but he has a deep attachment to him anyway.

There is a bit of a parallel there but the difference being that Garrett not only kept Ward out of jail, he gave him the tools to be strong enough to stand on his own. Which is the thing he regrets most about his childhood. That he wasn't able to stand up to his brother. So Ward feels he owes his life to Garrett while his brother was the one who pushed him so far he nearly ruined his life.

As much as he hated his brother I think it would be hard for someone like Ward not to feel some attachment to his own flesh and blood brother. My point is Ward is more than capable of killing those he feels an attachment toward.

Fitz and Simmons are going to wAsh up on a deserted island because of Agent Lanyard's question from interrogation (you wAsh up on a desert island with a box, what's in the box)

This is good. This is very good.

Anyway, I'm sad that we had to wait this long to get the kind of show everybody was asking for. Humor was on point, action wasn't terrible and for the most part the episode felt right (using old school SHIELD gadgetry was a neat touch, even if I think they need to tone it down a notch).

I just hope the writers take notice and don't drag Skye's mystery for another season. This silliness needs to stop ASAP. More open questions are not going to make the viewers more curious, but more tired.

Edit: Am I the only one largely unconcerned by Tripp? He's not the most exciting character not a tremendous actor, but it's not like this show has any of those factors in spades. At least he brings something new to the table.

Tripp is fine, in a cast full of shit acting and hammy writing the only reason he gets picked out is the outsider factor. Not being in the cast from the beginning makes him an easy target.

If Skye turns out to be Inhuman I don't think they can reveal it until a movie is announced. Realistically I don't know what else she could be. She looks human, it be stupid if Simmons somehow missed a genetic difference. Inhumans are 100% human until exposed to the mists. Also kind of weird how the only other human shown so far being born with powers was also chinese.

I just watched it. Ward being Taskmaster makes too much sense at this point, that I might be disapointed if that doesn't happen.

The entire episode focused on the realtionship of Ward and Garret and how he is not a mindlesss killer, but he has no problem doing it when necessary.

Good episode, but it didn't feel like the penultimate episode of the season.
Made me like Garrett less, too, which sucks, because he was great as a little crazy, not-taking-things-too-seriously villain.

Agreed. Plus, it's not like his character is A-tier or could steal an actual spot in the MC films. Ward just needs to complete his heel turn and embrace his mercenary nature.

Wait, Taskmaster is with Marvel? I thought he would be tied up with Fox as part of the Deadpool-deal.

I only know Taskmaster from the Deadpool comics, don't be hating

Yes, Taskmaster is with Marvel. He's primarily an Avengers antagonist and first appeared in The Avengers comics as well.

So skye's parents are monsters that tried to kill her (along with a village's worth of children)?

Sounds like she's a chitauri, or asgardian.

There are other aliens in the Marvel universe, one even featured on this show already! As far as we know the Chitauri hadn't been to Earth prior to The Avengers, so she isn't one of them. I think it's pretty unlikely she's Asgardian as well.

My bet is on Kree (since that is the alien the blood that healed her is from) or Skrull (which would probably be an interesting plot for a second season, and make sense as to why her parents were "monsters").

I like her being Kree, as it would kinda explain why the blood didn't turn hre crazy like it might have with Coulson.
She might also be half-Kree, which is why she doesn't naturally have that sort of regenerative ability.

I can't see Simmons or Raina missing something so obvious when they have access to Skyes blood samples or data in the case of Raina. Her being alient or part alien would be blatantly obvious with a simple blood check. She has to be human or mostly human.

Raina suggested that she thinks she and Skye "share something" inside (can't recall the exact quote), so even if Raina did find something unusual about Skye's blood work she may not actually say anything.

It may well have been. We don't know how far exactly they've been planning this, but everything seems pretty well set up to imply that they had at least been thinking about it during the production of the Avengers.

The whole thing is definitely inspired by the Secret Warriors run that had Hydra infiltrating SHIELD to take it down. That's probably where it all came from and they were dropping breadcrumbs like that back in Avengers.

At the time you think SHIELD is just holding on to that stuff for research purposes, but that clearly wasn't the case.

Also, the guy playing Galaga was probably Hydra.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
Skye is supergirl. The DC crossover is real.

Well, skrull/half-skrull then.
I think they can look 100% human, even down on a molecular level.

Only thing Simmons is hiding is what she's got under that sweater

Hydra taking down SHIELD from the inside by promoting office incompetence through playing Galaga?

How deep does this rabbit hole go?

The Hydra infiltration of SHIELD thing comes from Secret Warriors not Secret Avengers. I already said it earlier. Its a really good series and you should read it as TWS is heavily inspired by it. But I don't think they were going in that direction back then, The series was way too new at the time.

Skye's parents destroyed a Chinese village? Most likely suspect:

Not like there isn't precedent for Marvel crossing over with Capcom...

I kinda hope it's fried and Fitz has to fix it with the random crap in the crate. Just like MacGyver would'a done.

"Simmons...I need your bra clasp"

The cast and writers of AoS are really doing themselves a disservice by not focusing on this thread.

They say monsters, not specifically aliens. It's the description coming from illiterate Chinese peasants facing unreal stuff. Also they just said that the monsters destroyed the village trying to get the baby. Whether the intention of the monsters towards the baby were good or not we don't know. Maybe they are baby-eating monsters, maybe the baby was stolen from them, maybe they want this specific Chinese baby because reasons...

I like the
inhuman
hypothesis.
Mommy (mist-difformed) inhuman goes to visit China, misplace her baby, which is found by villagers. Mommy and her friends raze the village trying to get the baby back, villagers are scared and hide the baby because it's a perfectly fine-looking baby and mommy looks like a monster, Agents of shield ensue.

You could always tweet Chloe Bennett or something so she can read it

don't

I've always wondered why we don't tweet threads to celebrities and see their reaction more often.

I mean, we did it with Zelda Williams and it turned out pretty well and got duckroll a tag and potential mate.

Simmons is in the back wing, just like ward.

Simmons is Hydra.

I haven't Seen the Winter Soldier. Question: What is the rest of Hydra doing? By solely watching the series you would think Garrett is at the head of Hydra and that his worldwide terrorist organisation is comprised of a few dozen members all aboard their newly acquired Bus. But it can't be, right?
