Im yet to watch the footage of the draft but I heard that JFF said yesterday that he would make all the teams that passed on him regret it.
So I think at that point he realised he was not going to go early and there were a lot of teams with high picks that werent going to select him.
I think he is an absolute steal.
I feel like he's a risk just like a lot of teams did and the Browns know all about college QB's not working out in the NFL, so I was glad they didn't take him at 4 (as we can see now, it wasn't an urgent pick and we had room with our second pick) so it was just a matter of hoping he was still there or trading to get him which didn't matter much due to how many picks we have.
He knew it and the only person that didn't know it was Gruden, but he seemed honestly happy to be picked by the Browns who has shown interest in him for a while.
I think he CAN be a steal and it's worth the risk since we had 2 picks. I only wish we still went ahead and got Watkins to create the nastiest receiving team possible to give no excuses for QB's coming to Cleveland. Defense has a few holes now, but it's still really strong while the offense is what needs to be improved the most, but I'm still relatively happy with our first pick even if the analysts weren't.
I want Manziel to blow everyone away to shut up his haters and Browns haters all at once. I hope Hoyer comes back and plays like he did last year but his recovery is slow and we have no clue if that was just a Derek Anderson fluke situation or not, but I liked what we saw of him and think Manziel could learn a lot this year and then blow everyone away the following year.
browns passed on him so they will be the first to pay
That made me laugh way too much. Well played. He's a risk and I'm glad they passed on him with their first pick. I was hoping a miracle happened and Bortles was still available at 4 myself...lol
