Obviously, what we're currently focussed on is getting the game perfect and building a community around it first, but if there is a call for weather effects, nothing is currently off the cards at this point.
That does it: Now I'm getting Red Dead Redemption flashbacks. Them stormy nights. Hot damn.Imagine a thunder and lightning storm at night with that lighting....*drool*
Ask Rushy. But why the hell would they not show it? It is too big a feature to just surprise people at the last minute. That alone could be a big draw for many. They also said this last year
So there is weather, but not weather effects? So confusing! If this is just cloud and fog, they should just use some other term like "Cloud conditions"
Ask Rushy.
Hmm?I hope all this social stuff does not hinder progression for those fools (like me) that are only interested in racing.
You should!I think it's time I make a twitter account just to start chasing all these devs for more answers. lol
I mean I'm absolutely not interested in the sharing stuff, Club thing they advertise. I just want to drive sport cars in beautiful environments. I hope unlocking cars and locations does not become a grind when you don't want to force yourself into a Club... Basically, can I play this game as a PGR-like game ignoring all the Club stuff?Hmm?
How do you mean?
Oh I see, what you are saying.I mean I'm absolutely not interested in the sharing stuff, Club thing they advertise. I just want to drive sport cars in beautiful environments. I hope unlocking cars and locations does not become a grind when you don't want to force yourself into a Club...
Let's see some snow."Choose any race type, location, track, time of day, time lapse speed, weather and crowd size."

You could always form a club of six people who don't like the idea of being in a club.I mean I'm absolutely not interested in the sharing stuff, Club thing they advertise. Keep your expectations low people, it's better to be pleasantly surprised than be disappointed.
Weather could also be taken to mean how much standing water is on the road.

Being able to choose Weather = Sunny or Cloudy
It does NOT mean rain or snow. Rain and snow will have to wait for DriveClub 2.

Whether you're all about playing hard...
*flash driver smashing another off track*
or fair... nailing the apex...
*flash driver nowhere near the apex*
or drifting sideways. You can do what you want.
Haha this so muchSo, we will have dozens of 6-man #GAFCLUBS trying to compete with eachother?
This could be really awesome. The smaller member count gives rise to some real inter-club competition instead of a big huge GAF-driveclub that has 85% inactive members.
Snip!
Is the player count still 12?
Is the level of public online racing going to be essentially everyone is off or into someone else on the first corner and you win by best surviving the carnage?
Is there any tyre wear/mechanical damage options?
Its cool manapologies, i read that as they "won't disappoint". was expecting gameplay footage.
then i saw actual gameplay footage from today so all is forgotten/forgiven even before i noticed my mistake![]()

Great set of questions. Most of them need to be clarified by Evo
Yes. That's why they decided to do 6v6. But they seem to be open to changing that post release based on player feedback. There is a high probability that all 6 are not always available. 12 would imply that a lot of people need to sit out in each club vs club race. Something like 8 may be ideal. We'll need to see how it pans out.
This is probably going to happen a lot. They haven't hinted at any penalties for crashing (though there seems to be fame points for not crashing, which contributes to the individuals' and clubs' progress). There isn't any performance damage, so it's not going to be impossible to catch up. Will people be able to define penalties for their custom races? No idea.
I wanna hear/see more of this stuff to get me hyped.
Let's see some snow.
Good job bumping this thread. '-'
How dare you necrobump? It's been 15 hours since the last post!!!Is there another, newer, thread for discussing Driveclub's clubs and the multi-player racing aspect of the game?
I hope all this social stuff does not hinder progression for those fools (like me) that are only interested in racing. I couldn't care less about this "Club" non sense. Give me cars, give me tracks, everything else is superfluous.
You can play it without an internet connection so there's no way the social stuff can hinder your enjoyment.
But if I understood well, without online play - and asynchrounous challenges - there is no "Fame" and "Fame" will be important for something. So I guess you can play offline only, but many of game will be missed.

With the delay, I REALLY hope weather is added.
I hope they have tornadoes, hurricanes and tsunamis in the game.
Snow, rain, hail, ice on the road, lighting, high winds and fog please! And if you can throw in a few flooded sections of the road, I'll take that too thanks.

You can still get 'fame' for doing donuts in car parks, if you have to play offline.

DRIVECLUB is at its best when youre connected, as youll always have fresh and exciting new challenges around every corner. Its up to you how you play, when you play and who you play with. You can play solo if you want: online or offline. Theres a full single-player campaign for you along with the ability to set up your own events, which will all help you earn access to new cars and rewards. Everything is better when youre online though, connected to friends and playing in a club, sharing every moment and competing in engaging challenges.
http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/04/30/driveclub-update-evolution-studios-2/In DRIVECLUB every action you perform, whether thats drifting in style, reaching insane top speeds or drafting an opponent to set up an overtake, you earn FAME.
When you earn enough fame you level up and when you do you unlock new cars to race with! The same goes for you club. When your club reaches specific levels youll earn new cars, which everyone in the club gets immediate access to. Its a simple and focussed approach that allows everyone to help each other to earn more and play more.
