Damn Sony, managing to channel the hype, just under a month before the conference.

So many let downs imminent. Or not. They blew me away last year.

It'd be fun if Sony says something like 'this E3 will be remembered for years to come' or something, in the next few days. GAF will be shitting ourselves with excitement for the next month.

Great for me, 2am is just fine. I probably won't be able to watch Microsoft and EA conferences live so I'll just watch them (and avoid GAF) in the build up to this one. Going to be a fun night.

Let's get hyped! Choo choo.

Speculation about Morpheus and TLG will reach critical levels if they do that :P

I wasn't even aware of this guy. Hasn't really been following this sort of thing. I assume this is the guy who superseded Tretton?

Yeah, not surprised. He's high-up on the SCE food chain, but he's never been a front-and-center public figure much. And he's made zero public appearances as SCEA's new head, so no one knows what to make out of him.

Shawn Layden.
27 years at Sony.
15 years at SCE.
Some years as VP of SCE WWS.
8 years as head of Sony London.
3+ years as President of SCEJ. (currently Kawano)

Last role was COO of Sony Network Entertainment, so one of the guys in charge of PSN, Music/Video Unlimited.

Just looking at his resume, he's someone who's been very much in games development for much of his career.

Fuck yeah, friends are so pumped they're coming from another region(of Italy) to where i live just to watch E3 together, last year we were so crazy that it was unforgettable.

it will be 4 a.m. over here baby!!

I will be there as usual, but you are right, it would be nice if sony went like noon time pt. wtf they were (not) thinking> :)

They can't because of scheduling issues with the other conferences. They have to give time for people to go from the Ubisoft Press Conference to the Sony Press Conference and that's why it's so late.

However they could return to the Tuesday press conference timeslot they had before. Considering Nintendo is not doing anything they could get the Tuesday early morning slot before the doors open at the show floor.

I think....
hope
this is correct.

9PM?!? Damn Sony is scheming on MS. I hope MS wows us at E3, so sony can add more secret weapon slides to wow us right back. This E3 will be amazing!

Darn it. Last year's E3 was great, as the big conferences were all starting between 8pm and midnight here in the UK. Admittedly, last year's was more "important" as it decided what my first next-gen console was going to be, so I don't know if I want to be up until 4am finding out what Sony has in store. It seems like there'd be less of a cathartic moment like the PS4 price-reveal.

We need a bigger train ( or something else)

Lol just saw GAF's reaction to The last Guardian and that was after it was leaked.

Since GT ain't going to be here (due to driveclub), I'm guessing that The Last Guardian will be the final show stopper.

Am I the only one who's for the first time in many years actually hyped for all 3 big conferences? I still have my doubts about Phil Spencer but he seems like a genuine guy set on delivering on his promises, Sony seem like they have a lot of announcements to make, maybe even a secret or two, and I just can't stop thinking about the possibility of Nintendo announcing new hardware (I know it's just a rumor, but).

All we need now is for KONAMI to show up and beat their 2010 showing.

I was hyped for E3 2008, it delivered. Last year had a lot of potential with Microsoft and Sony showing their plans for the news consoles, Nintendo had to have a big conference but they barely showed anything new and were mostly crowded out with articles solely about the PS4 and Xbox One.

This year it's the second take, Microsoft showed quite a bit last year so they'll have to show quite a bit to beat their last conference. Sony didn't show too much but since the PS4 is leading the Generation 8 they have to set the bench mark and Nintendo really have to show why you should keep hold of your 3DS and WiiU baring Pokemon and Smash.

It's a great mixture, with the real winners being us gamers.

I'm pretty sure this is correct!

Fuck, same time as last year (3AM for me). I had work 8.30AM so I only had a couple of hours of sleep and was a fucking wreck at work. It's the same situation this year. Blah! Decisions.

Thanks.

Yeah I remember that. I wasn't a gaffer at the time, but I do recall the trailer leaking some time before the conference. The one that was unveiled officially was touched up in certain places though. The griffin thing and the kid were slightly redesigned for instance. Shame it happened though, that's the kind of megaton you want reserved for the perfect moment to show.

Sony need to work on delivering the final showstoppers. Last year, it was Destiny, I believe, that ended the show, with a 10+ minute demo? They need to show a small reveal, maybe a teaser, of some highly anticipated game and then close the show with that. Lets hope TLG is up on the cards for this year and is shown as the final reveal.

Really looking forward to The Order showing. We've seen what - 10 seconds of gameplay? And that game is out in mere months supposedly. They're bound to have some big showing - I'm thinking Naughty Dog reveal esque.
