As usual, will catch trailers of anything interesting later on, after the show. MS's directs haven't been worth setting time aside for in years. Unfortunately similar could be said for many of the recent SOPs (outside of the one where they revealed PHYSINT).
Ironically the TGAs bucked the trend (well, a couple of the Nintendo Directs last year were pretty solid, too), but that's an end-of-year glorified commercial with some awards tucked in there, and they just lucked out with 2024 after two years in a row of crappy events (especially 2023's, which was just awful). At this point the only
guaranteed event worth setting time aside for IMHO that could be coming up anytime soon, is the next Nintendo Direct, because that's probably when they'll finally reveal the Switch 2.
Everything else is too much a crapshoot to really say if it's worth the time or just wait until the whole thing's over and you can go watch whatever trailers look neat. Maybe the next PlayStation Showcase will be worth the time, especially since it seems they're scaling back on the GAAS glut. But the 2023 one left a bad taste in my mouth that hasn't completely gone away.
And then behind that,
maybe the next Xbox Showcase? But that won't be much IMO unless they show some gameplay for Perfect Dark, E-Day, Everwild, Outer Worlds 2 etc. running on a Series X. MS do bullocks with fake/dishonest gameplay showings too much vs. what you actually get. Case-in-point: Forza Motorsport.
Gaf Favorite Aaron Greenberg has stated that there will be an unannounced game at the Direct too.
Unannounced port of Forza Horizon 5 to PS5 and Switch 2.
