A good amount of these don't seem like examples of bad parenting, like the kids in the bath, they're just sitting there anyway, doesn't seem too ridiculous to take a picture.

What is the criteria for judging these mothers so harshly, if not slut-shaming? If the worst thing these supposedly 'worst' moms can do is appear around their young children in little or no clothing sometimes, they're probably pretty awesome mothers.

I'm not saying all these people are saints or anything, but boy oh boy do people like to judge.

It seems to me that, generally, women spend WAY more time with their kids than men do. These women may not even be able to go to the bathroom without their kid walking in on them.

The fact that their kid is around while they are taking a selfie (motivation for taking a selfie notwithstanding and irrelevant) is probably a by-product of the fact that many of them have no alone time.

I do question the wisdom of getting the pictures out on the internet, but who knows, could have been released by a jilted lover or something.

For whatever reason this made me think it would be amazing(or rather totally horrible in an amusing way) if for like the first 8 years of a kid's life all the pictures of them were just in the background of awkward/inappropriate selfies by their mom. Kind of like those photo every day for X years you see on youtube, but instead it's standing in the corner while their mom tries to make her flat ass look good.

The title is obviously exaggerated, but I would question any mother who would think some of these pics with their kids were good ideas to take and put in public. No offense, but you open yourself up to judgement when you put yourself out there. We all do, and it isn't wrong to criticize people.

Yes, article titles on the internet are often bullshit.

What if these women were having intercourse in front of their kids? Would condemning that behavior be condemning poor judgment or slut-shaming? I get that sexy self-pics are certainly several degrees less serious than that, but I think it's the presence of the children that is driving the reaction. If it was *just* sexy self-pics, then sure, some assholes would find that unacceptable, but their motherhood credentials wouldn't be the first thing brought up.

They are putting these pictures out in public without their children's consent and so their behavior in the pictures probably should be subject to additional scrutiny. If they aren't considering possible negative effects on their children, then that is indeed a strike against their mothering skills. I'll agree they absolutely aren't the "worst mothers" in the world.

Some of these are mildly funny, others are a little weird - but the one where the kid is putting his head against the change room wall while his mother tries on swimsuits is just great.
