FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga - A sign draped across the side of a Forsyth County high school raised some eyebrows and angered school officials early Wednesday.

The sign contained a lyric to a popular song by the artist 'Drake'. The signs proclaimed "N***A we made it!" Students used the reference as part of their departing 'senior week' celebration. In addition to the sign, photos also show the message was written on windows.

As images of the sign started to surface on social media, school officials reacted with this statement:

"South Forsyth High School Parents: This morning, without our knowledge, students placed a derogatory sign with a verse from a song by Drake on our school as a senior prank. We removed it as soon as it was brought to our attention and deeply apologize for their behavior. This is unacceptable and I promise you that the students will receive the appropriate consequences for their actions."

Really glad they censored that. If I knew what word it was, I might have been seriously scarred.

It's dumb high school kids being dumb high school kids. They didn't mean any offense, they were just being jackasses.

The school just didn't want themselves to be associated with Drake. I get that. I personally would've gone with something from like The Wire.

Forsyth County. 100% unsurprised. This is the whitest place in Georgia. Something like 0.5% of the population is black.

They're usually aren't mutually exclusive.

"Man, shit. I seen a tiny-ass .22 round-nose drop a nigger plenty of days, man. Motherfuckers get up in you like a pinball, rip your ass up. Big joints, though... Big joints, man, just break your bones, you say, "fuck it." I'm gonna go with this right here, man. How much do I owe you?"
-Felicia "Snoop" Pearson from the television series, The Wire

What's the big deal? The blacks call each other "nigga" all the time. Why can't I ignore historical context and say it too?

Me not being able to to say it is reverse racism. This conditional usage bullshit has to end.

well they didnt say it they wrote it, its in the song, they are pretty much expressing what drake said, so shouldn't they be mad at drake?

If I express my disagreement with this post through the use of Madonna lyrics would you debate me or Madonna?
its a well known drake lyric that they quoted saying they made it, there was 0 racism intentions behind the original lyric of the song so there should be 0 racism intentions when someone quotes it.

intentions =! impact

they should know better not to use the word. Like c'mon

You're supposed to put /s so that people can tell that you're being sarcastic.

I am not. If we let these students progress into their academic careers and spread their agenda and racist views, what kind of behaviour are we encouraging and where do we draw the line. The 'n' word is a historically terrible, demeaning word and these students should be reprimanded.
