How does it stack up to Virtue's Last Reward? That's like my favourite interactive-fictiony game ever.

Phoenix Wright is cool and all, but I think I prefer a bit more puzzle solving and exploration versus pointing out tiny inconsistencies in testimony.

Plus I felt the writing was far superior (or at least the English translation was). PW has the clown shoes on firmly, and I like that kind of humor, but VLR's storytelling was on a whole other level.

Well i guess you'll prefer VLR because in Danganronpa there are no puzzles, but there's more exploration and it's more important than in VLR.

999/VLR fans will do everything to deny it but some of the biggest things that i greatly appreciated in VLR and that i thought they were original(one of them was a plot twist that blew my mind, and that's a really hard thing to do) were straightly copied from Danganronpa(that came out on PSP 2 years before VLR), the more i played Danganronpa the more i was disappointed by VLR, i wouldn't be surprised if japanese people felt the same and that was one of the reasons why it bombed hard in Japan imo.

I recently cancelled the pre-order for wolfenstien. The funds were returned to my wallet, will they be returned to my visa card or will they remain in the wallet? anyone know?

I never thought trying to get a Platinum for Kingdom Hearts 1.5 would be this stressful. Trying to get this items for synthesis and doing the gummi missions make me want to chuck my PS3 out the window. After I platinum Final Mix, I don't think I'm going to play KH1 for a long time.

Are you me?

I just went back to it yesterday. Made my Ultima Weapon and can't defeat Sephiroth at Level 100 on Proud Mode.

Sounds awesome. I'm not on a mission to sanctify VLR. If there's a better game, I'm all for it.
Thanks!

Heh. I'm on my way to End of the World to get the last few items to synth Ultima Weapon and then I have to fight Sephiroth. After that, gotta get the last few shields and staffs for Donald and Goofy, finish up the Gummi stuff and the Platinum is done. After that it's Chain of Memories, but I think I'll just play that once or twice and leave it alone. lol

Since there's no OT for it, can someone please tell me what kind of gameplay is used in Monster Monpiece? All I hear from most is 'it's that monster girl game'.

Finished God of War I last week on the Vita my good fellow GAFfers. Got a couple of trophies that didn't unlock so there are so problems. Also I got a glitch in a Boss area that, after finishing the Boss I still had those red barriers, had to start over.

It may not be the best port but I had my fun. I still believe that the soundtrack is simply amazing for this game. Going to start God of War II soon. :)

Well, I'm not really sure which twist and things you're talking about, and I don't care to at this point since I'm staying spoiler-free on Danganronpa, but I have heard the complaint that a lot of twists in VLR were reused from Uchikoshi's earlier works like Ever17.

I doubt that would be the reason since they never bought it in the first place!

Though if you ask me, I think people overrate VLR/999 too much. If I have known GAF's praise to it, I probably would have disliked the series and would have vowed to never touch it again.

I enjoyed DGR, it was certainly different and had a fascinating plot but VLR was, in my opinion, a better game. DGR got way too monotonous for me after the first few chapters...

I don't think there's a better game, they are very different, VLR is serious, has puzzles and intricate story and characters while Danganronpa is funnier, has trials and more "gameplay", it's more linear and easy(VLR puzzles are easy too imo) but it has a post game mode that let you know all the characters.
They are more or less on the same level imo.

I never touched 999. Hated Hotel Dusk, heard lots of things along the lines of "999 is a lot like Hotel Dusk, you liked Hotel Dusk right? Go play 999!". So I stayed the hell away.
I'd never have bought VLR. Gave it a shot randomly only when it came to PS+ and I was deep into fridge management on my shiny new Vita. I expected nothing, knew nothing, and it just blew me away. Real talk.

Just bought Megaman Maverick Hunter X. I loved this remake when I had a psp

Semi Off-Topic: Is anyone getting the Vita version of Blazblue: Chrono Phantasma? Are fighting games a worth checking out on the Vita?

Well, for me, I went into 999 not knowing what to expect. It blew me away, and is one of my favorite DS games ever. Then I played VLR, and I had a similar experience. Again, one of my favorite 3DS games. I went into Danganronpa wit no expectations and no knowledge of what it was like. The twists had me going 'WHAT' many times (as those in the OT can attest). And bam, my second favorite Vita game, right behind P4G.

All that said, comparing VLR to DR is like comparing apples to oranges. Somewhat similar themes (trapped people trying to escape), but beyond that, they're quite different beasts.

I don't know Ever17 but if it contains what i think then i would be disappointed by Danganronpa too XD(but it's not just one thing that returns in VLR)

I doubt that would be the reason since they never bought it in the first place!

I loved VLR and i still think it's a great game, it was just greatly disappointing that it was not entirely original.

Just checked it out, and so many things were reused. At least the Ally/Betray system was original ._.

999 is like Hotel Dusk? In that case, so is VLR. Personally I love Hotel Dusk more than both 999 and VLR.

Why do Yukiko and Chie get to wear a different color school uniform while everyone else in the main party who wears a uniform wears it normally

Heh, I only got it, too, when it came free on JP PS+.

But I'm the kind of guy who, when seeing overhype like GAF does on VLR/999, would have expectations. And every fault I find would be like five times as worse if I hadn't seen those praise.

Naturally, I pretty much avoid internet hype, and pretty much only ask friends for feedback. But eh, when I see them, I will have some expectations. I'm glad that I played VLR before I saw GAF hype.

I think it's nice, but it's not as great as everyone's making it out to be.

"No story has ever been not told before" is what one writer told me before. And it makes sense if you think about it.

School doesn't give a fuck then that they're covering the uniforms? :lol
Well, it IS a small town; perhaps (save for King Moron) the staff is less stringent about what's worn over uniforms, so long as the uniform is worn properly under sweaters and jackets. Heck, none of the characters wear their uniforms fully to the letter.

Monster Monpiece is coming this week.

I am, even with the reported long load times, and I bought every other BB on PS3. There are several good fighting games on vita. Online works a lot better on vita than the PS3 is a huge plus for me.

Wish they'd put another fighting game on PS+. Gimme dat DOA5Plus. It's outdated anyways now that ultimate is out

Really? Between BlazBlue, SFxTekken and the PSP games Tekken 6 and Soulcalibur Broken Destiny I have enough fighting games on vita to last a while! That plus Skullgirls and SF IV on PS3 and I have more fighting games than I can play. I feel like PS+ is always fighting games. Wouldn't mind another one, but I definitely feel like the genre is firmly represented already on plus!

What's up with EU PS+ update? Shouldn't they say something by now? If memory serves those were usually out between 20th and 25th?

I'm kind of regretting not buying UMvC3 the two times it was on sale last year. Here's to hoping it'll show up on PS+ or at least on sale again at some point before it inevitably gets delisted.

I have a question about the Ethernet port on the PS4. Using Ethernet does not seem to change my speeds at all from wireless. I am on a 50/20 connection and the Ethernet test gives me the same speeds as the wireless one (10/1.8). Is this a PSN limitation? Is my PS4's Ethernet port not working properly? Something else?

I tried it with a CAT5 and a CAT5E cable. Same results. Desktop and other devices get faster speeds when using a wire.

Did you go back in to network settings and re-setup the connection for wired? I believe if you don't it will continue to use wireless even with the cable plugged in.

Is the playstation network under maintenance for anyone else? Was this know about?

Lol, I got beaten. Good thing it's not just me. whew. :)

If you opened up ports for your IP address when you were wireless, you might have a different IP address now that you are wired, and would need to open up the same ports for that address. I dunno how much an impact that would make, but maybe worth checking.
