Quantum Break Gameplay Teaser, delayed to 2015, debut at Gamescom

I'm not sure I would count that as delay, I don't think it was ever supposed to be out earlier than 2015, same with Halo 5. MS just did their best to fool people into thinking these games would be out much earlier.

Maybe I need to see more, but my first impression based on the screenshots is that the game doesn't... look... that good? It looks pretty nice, but the chromatic aberration and fucked up foliage and weird inconsistent AA and blurriness really looks ugly to me, especially in this shot:

I think the chromatic aberration is only really noticeable in that particular screenshot, so maybe it was triggered by the punch or something else. It will furthermore not be so visible during gameplay is my best guess. Maybe they have too big of an offset for it to be picked up so easily in that screenshot.

I'd wager that "X1" here probably meant the dev kit, which is overpowered compared to the actual console itself (same deal for the PS4 dev kit). Either that or it was "playing" (a.k.a. chugging at that fidelity).
That's not what devkits mean. At most they have more memory for profiling and debugging purposes.
(Allegedly on Xbone the devkit is equal to the retail console.)

Is that the ship that hits the bridge from the first reveal?

Looks like it.

..also, he appears to be on the/a boat/ship here...

Too brief to tell anything, but it looks like another story-heavy shooter alright. Alan Wake's controls were terrible and the game was insanely repetitive, but the story was good. Not good enough to make the gameplay tolerable. Hopefully this one will be better. The TV show aspect can be very cool or incredibly cheesy, we'll have to wait and see.

This begs a question though, what are MS going to show at E3? I was expecting this to have a big spot in their E3 plans.

I'm thinking:

Halo Anniversary thing
Sunset Overdrive
Call of Duty
Fable
Third party moneyhat game
Some minor time dedicated to indies
Price drop/OS feature elaboration
Edit: Forza Horizon 2 (my bad, forgot, thanks Rockyrock)

Anything else? Unless they decide to show games that won't be out until 2015/2016, in which case include Halo 5 and Gears of War.

Graphics look great, the time manipulation mechanics should make this an interesting title.

2015 is going to be an insane year for gaming.

Well spotted. It seems like almost all of what we've seen from the game is a single level, then. Which is both exciting and interesting, since we've seen quite a lot, but it does seem to suggest that perhaps the game isn't quite as far along in development as we'd thought.

Sorry, couldn't resist:

I put E3 to be as neutral as possible, since both companies had problems.

That's fine with me as long as the end result is a solid product. Don't want another Battlefield 4 situation where they rushed out an alpha to beat COD to market.

Of course, I know many of those who early adopted the current-gen consoles are somewhat desperate for titles too.

GoW will get like a 15 teaser im sure. Forza Horizon 2. and they have to have some other unannounced stuff up their sleeve or else, well....

Well, that's just theorising now isn't it? Even then, it wouldn't necessary imply either of the two descriptors you mentioned earlier. So there's a bit on a bridge, and a segment just over it. That's not a huge vista or a dense environment really…

But I don't mean to pick at you. I'm just saying, we should maybe assign these sorts of opinions for when we actually see them from the game.

No, I'm not theorizing, I'm saying they are showing glimpses of larger vistas and dense areas.

I can't take screenshots now but go to 1:17 on the video.

That seems the background of where the rest of the video is.

1:21-1:22 shows inside of the hangar, and again there are tons of objects in the scene.

1:25 shows a city in the background.

1:28 shows him above the bridge, with an area underneath that look like other playable areas on the video.

1:29 show a city in the background (and a fairly dense environment with again lots of objects in the scene)

1:30 shows inside of the hangar and again, tons of objects

1:31 shows him above the bridge again, and every thing is really detailed, and you can see what looks the playable area from before collapsing.

1:32-1:33 seems to show the area from the previous point collapsing.

I could go on, but I guess my point is clear, I'm not making assumptions out of thin air, they are show plenty of glimpses of what I'm talking about.

looks like a van falls down in front of Jack and he rewinds time just enough so that he can sprint past it.

graphically the best looking current gen game yet, I do wonder if it'll stay at this quality though. Alan Wake with super powers though? That sounds great :o

I understand, more time is good to polish the games.

Not going to go through the video when I already have a few times, but can you post screenshots of what you mean? I took a few here from the trailer so you might just be able to use those.

Is that dude's name "Jack Choice" ?

That was my reaction as well, game looks good, a delay will probably benefit it and the protagonist is ...... Jack Choice??? huh... Wouldn't be my first pick (hard not to say choice there) for a main character name.

Look Remedy is great, and im sure the game will be awesome and the story great.
But do not let them fool you, you know what the Xbox is capable of. Dont expect off the chart graphics.
And if the graphics will be insane other Parys of the game will suffer.
Its just being realistic.
Same with Infamous, a game so beautiful but very shallow.
I fear the same for the Order.

Well compare 1st year xbox360/ps3 games to 2nd year games.
Ryse, forza 5, killzone and infamous were launch games (well infamous wasnt but it was pretty close). All these games had great visuals exceeding last gen and they were made with a limited understanding of the consoles on early dev kit hardware with early SDK's (especially with the X1, the PS4 has come out the gate with better tools and therefore devs will be able to get more out of it combined with the power advantage).

Now 2015 games will be done using better SDK's on updated devkits on next gen game engines. That alone will result in better looking games.

As for quantum break it looks incredible, the amount of polygons and effects when time is frozen is breathtaking, the best visuals of next gen so far, and what the gameplay in frozen time and time powers entails has me intrigued.

New IP?
Classic IP?

Not according to this thread where he predicted

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=760013&highlight=

Halo Anniversary 2 will be 1080p, iffy on the 60fps, maybe not.
Quantum Break is Holiday 2014
$399 XB1 this year? "Maybe one without an Optical Disc Drive."
A list w/dates of the rest of the Tier 2 and Tier 3 countries that Xbone will release in this year.

Your information is incorrect on his Halo 2 prediction. He totally called the whole package. Specifically, here is what he said about Halo 2 anniversary:

ntkrnl said:
That is the plan.

Let me reiterate some of the Halo stuff, as there is some confusion and I didn't lay all the cards down.

Two versions of H2A.

Collectors Edition with the Beta access, the Halo series (not the Blomkamp one)

War Collection with the above, as well as ports of Halo 3 & 4 for XB1.

ntkrnl said:
Halo 2 HD
Halo 3 Port
Halo 4 Port
Halo 5

In the span of one year.

Don't forget two live action series too!

I recommend reading all of his posts vs reading the summary posts that people put up (that missed a few things he said): http://www.neogaf.com/forum/search.php?searchid=16658983&pp=50&page=2

I agree he has had some misses that are coming to light now, but I do think he had a lot of legitimate informaiton. It's possible things were on target for some of these things, such as QB 2015 and Tier 2 launch dates (remember, this was early Feb, A LOT has changed at Xbox, especially on the leadership end of things).

And it's also quite possible he was making stuff up...who knows, but he did get a lot of really random things right before anyone else even thought his predictions were logical (some of the SSOD details, Titanfall Xbox are two ones that easily come to mind).

Funny that people thought he was an "official leaker" at one point and now some think he was a fraud...Neogaf!

Forza 5 was a launch title and looks great. Ryse was a launch title and looked phenomenal. I don't see how what they've shown cannot be done.

has some type of stomp attack that triggers a time power . Or maybe stops yours?
Would be cool. The whole thing with time bubbles ala Max Payne 3 multiplayer, just better executed would be dope to fight against.

And their visual design says: We're open to have other kinds of enemies, not just regular shooty shooty bang bang human guards.

What's this filter in these screenshots?
You're probably thinking of chromatic abberation. Not every screenshot has it that excessive so maybe it's only used for impacts to give it more pazang.
