You can add King's Field 1 ~ 4 in my case.

Yeah, KF is damned good. Longtime Fromsoft fan here as well. Hell, I own Metal Wolf Chaos.

KF1 (KF2 in Japan) was a fantastic game and I want to replay it now. It's got a certain charm that makes me love it - although I love the Japanese KF1, it can't hold a candle to it.

Finished DS 3 times. Finished DS2 6 times. DeS 1. I'ma go back and play DeS prior to Beast's release time.

We almost have the exact number of playthroughs for each of the Souls game, except for DeS.

The minor improvements in DkS2 quickly add up and ultimately made for a better experience than the previous games, though, not by very much. All of them are near-flawless games.

I assume you're a fan of the movie Buried too? ;)

It was a scary difficult area to explore and make sense ,but once you figure it out its straight forward.

I actually went in the first time without a single source of light and it was so rewarding to find the lighted area overlooking Ash Lake.

I think it was a very rewarding Souls area.

Dem fighten words.

All 3 games are brilliant
Except DS2 is not.

It's still very good and I'm grateful for every single Souls game. :P

Tomb of giants wasn't poorly designed.

It was thrilling to experience. At least the first time around.
Agreed. It was even better before they patched in the early Skull Lantern drop in the catacombs.

I really missed tense experiences like that in DS2. Partly due to the rather weak level-design and partly due to the bonfire warping always being available. It definitely took away something special from the game in my opinion.

How many of you actually finished all three?

Platinum'd Demons souls, completed ng++++ on 2 characters.

Platinum'd dark souls and 1000/1000 on pc, too many playthroughs to count.

Platinum'd dark souls 2 and 1000/1000 on pc, ng+++ on both.

I'm versed in the series lol

I wish I was into the series. The only one I put any real time into was demons souls. I loved it but ended up quitting after 25 hours because I was mostly terrible at it.

I don't think I passed the 5 hour mark in dark souls before I realized the series just isn't for me.

I don't see the problem for From to keep alive both flavors of the Souls franchise (Demon's and Dark) they already did this in the 90's and 00's with King's Field, Shadow Tower, and even Eternal Ring. If that leads to having a new Souls game on the PS4 every year, I certainly don't see the problem for us!

Of course this Project Beast could still be an Souls Gaiden kind of thing and not a full blown Souls game. Maybe they've ditched most of the character customization and multiplayer and gone for a more straightforward style of action game. I certainly hope not, but on the other hand a game of this lesser scope could more easily be ready to ship in 2014.

Multiplayer really needs to remain in this game. It's what makes Dark Souls so replayable.

Plenty of games/series gaf gets hyped for I don't give a damn about or hyped at all. If Souls games don't appeal to you after trying hard to get into them then there's no shame in that. Just have fun with the games you enjoy. Don't fall for hype on titles that you couldn't care less about.

So this would be bloodborne, and of course there will be DaSIII and the possibility of a DeS2!? Can't see this happening. If Project Beast isn't the successor to Demon's then the gameplay and tone are already too similar for all 3 to exist and by the same developer(s).

I think that if the leaker chose the Demon's Souls soundtrack for this trailer, it is a hint that this game is in fact DeS 2

I think people overestimate the importance of the name.

The funny thing about the name is people seem to have concluded it's Bloodborne from something DemonNite said, but considering all of his Beast hints, either it is 'Beast Souls', or something along those lines, or he knew the game's project name would leak. Very odd.

oh ok I tought the original leak was webms and the youtube trailer (with DeS music)
So who added the music or made the youtube video ?

They originated as webm's here on gaf, then gaf did what gaf does and we got them all strung together, then youtube, and probably a triple decker train of hype by now.

I don't see why it should refer to anything else that Project Beast. It is the only "known" name for this game at the moment, a working title probably. I guess they haven't settled on the name (they might not overestimate it as much as we do indeed)

Beasts Souls was made up from people on GAF or other boards, as you know, and yet it's given more credit than Project Beast. That's what I find odd

I enjoy DS2 more than the other three, especially co-op. It took so long to organize PVP in DS.

Anyway, that's like saying I prefer this Rolex over my other two. All of them are awesome.

thanks but my question was what user put the youtbe video together/added the music on it. Don't worry though it doesn't matter.
Also the webms appeared on 4chan first, then GAF

Hate is a strong word. :'(
I was so disappointed :(
The "kick" was gone, horrible animation (character is walking like he's on rails), hit-detection is horrible, the confusing map/world is horrible, rumble was all but messed up, a lot of items didn't make any sense (weren't needed) etc. etc. ;(

Finish DeS played 5 times , DS was twice , have not played DS2 yet but from everything i read and see i not going to like it .
DeS is my favor by far i just like the hub way more along with things like world tendency .

Well you're in luck because Dark Souls 2's world design borrows heavily from the hub style of Demon's Souls. Just with the equivalent of having archstones every 6 minutes.
Did you play Demon's souls ? Why do you find Dark Souls 2 better ? I havn't played the latter one yet but i'm curious to know.
As someone who has played all three I'm also curious, lol.

It plays like a Souls game. What about it will you not like? I've spent 5 hours in the first real area and it's pure Souls.

Unless you're talking about extremely technical aspects like the amount of time it takes to swing a weapon here vs another title then that's a different story. One I'd hate to be a part of.

Personally I think anyone who dislikes Fable 2 is a bad person and should feel bad.
Dear god. The entire fable series has completely failed to deliver on any of Molyneux's original promises-- no, the INTENT of his original promises.

Those games blowing up indicated to me that the composition of the fanbase of the WRPG audience really had very significantly changed.

Have I pissed you off with this post? If yes, *fart*. Now you love me again.

Frustrating how? The game (for most people) get's more focused during the second half.

Says who?

The giant memories are poorly made weird anachronisms of normal areas, albeit with an annoying and pointless timer. What is focused about multiple interpretations of the location where the end boss is not for lore reasons, but because it turns out the end boss is at a bonfire 6 or so back? The game completely falls apart near the end, there's no decisive direction to go.

Fable 2 for me was more than just the sum of it's parts. It had great world building and connected-ness and I enjoyed my time with it. It was endearing, and I don't think any comparison to it's pre-release promises and hype can take away from what there was to enjoy.

Truth is after playing DS i was getting tired of FROM collision detection in the games and seeing it in DS2 worst in some ways really put me off .
They are other reasons but it makes no sense to go into it in this thread .
FROM needs to fix the collision detection it's the number one i thing i want them to work on along with frame rate.

The only difference between DemonNite's webm and the Tron film other than the PS decals and Kaz's face is the voice of the woman. (She goes from American-Australian to a well spoken English accent) She sounds like the WipEout HD woman to me.

PS4 WipEout confirmed.

I'm trying too hard

Good work. It certainly seems the most likely candidate for the 20th anniversary tie-in thing that Gopherd alluded to. 2015 will be 20 years since the first Wipeout made it's debut.

The new people did a fine job. Easily better than Demon's Souls.

Pretty funny. I liked DeS the least even though it was my first souls game. I prefered the DaS style of connected cohesive map design. And DeS was a bit to dark and gloomy for me, I guess. Also I never was a big fan of world tendency. But regardless of which game anyone preferes, we can agree they are all wonderful games with slight variations.
