PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Will/has there been any talk about an Uncharted trilogy remake for the PS4? I kinda missed out on the entire Uncharted series last gen, since I didn't have a PS3.

I would like it if there was (I also missed out on early PS3 stuff), and Uncharted 1+2 aren't super easy to find these days, wish they were as cheap as Gears of War is now! I'm sure they want to bring Uncharted 1-3 to the PS4 eventually, but I'm not sure if it will be through a re-release or through using PS Now. I kind of hope for the re-release as my school internet is so bad I don't think theres any hope of me using PS Now.

Last week, Kazkodaka mentioned on twitter that "there is something friday next week" and to "surely watch it".

Well, the only thing I know going on this friday would be the PlayStation Summer Great Fireworks Display - which would show stuff like Oreshika2, Toukiden, Frewo, some shitty Toukiden-clone called Monster Hunter Frontier G.

Most of you probably won't play Zettai Zetsumei Shoujo anyways, LOL.

We'll probably see more details in the coming days.

Hm, nice discount on Rainbow Moon, might bite it. However, that list of discounted points right after the game made me uneasy, is the game really that P2W?

Guys, quick question. I just bought a PS3 (my first one ever), and I'm thinking of buying a year of PS+ (US region). Is it worth it if I don't have collected any of the previously offered games? I'm interested in Uncharted 3, which is currently featured, though I haven't played the previous games in the franchise and I plan to, but many of the multiplatform titles I already own on Steam.

I like the way you think :)

PS+ is moving towards a "2 free games every month" model, so the decision to get it or not if you only own one PS platform comes down to two things. Do you think enough of the 24 PS3 games that will be available next year will be games you don't own/want to play? And do you plan on getting any other PS platforms in the future? You can "buy" the free titles on the web store without owning a Vita or PS4, then have a catalog of games ready when you do buy those.

As someone with a PC and steam, I PS+ was still very worth it to me, but I also own a vita. Check out this list of games that have come to PS+ in the past on PS3, and you should get a pretty good idea if PS+ generally repeats games you own already or if there are enough games you don't own to warrant it. BTW, that is a link to the NA list, there are other lists for EU or whatnot.

Yes it's always worth it.

You only need one good game every 2-3 months to break even on the cost of PSN+ and that's before we count discounts it gives you on games (which are huge in NA).

Plus you get to build library for PS4/Vita if you decide to get them in the future.

How much should I price a Wifi/3G OG Vita + 32GB?

The same price you would sell a Wifi only vita for! But seriously, browsing ebay's sold auctions page, it seems OG vitas are going for ~$100 on their own, and a few sold with a 32 GB card were between $130 and $150. Which is kind of sad, seeing as I traded my OG vita into gamestop and got $150 with some promos without any memory card. Not sure why they're so cheap now, but there are pages of used perfect condition OG vitas sold on ebay for around $100.

Thanks, I've checked that list and I saw 12 titles I'm interested in, though sadly they aren't active anymore (except Puppeteer and Uncharted 3, which will go down tomorrow). I hope there are repeats someday.

Having PS4 and Vita games is a great thing, as I'd have a nice amount of games available if I ever decide to purchase either console.

From what I saw, there are 12 games over 4 years that I want, so that's a game every 4 months. That doesn't sound so tempting, though of course I'm not counting titles that I may enjoy but don't know about at the moment.

$150? That's bretty gud. I was thinking about going the gstop route and just using the vita credit for preorders and such but I was told I was only gonna get ~80 for it plus another 16 for the 32GB.

Someone offered me ~110 for both of them but I will try to see my other options.

I've come to the point where having 3 Vitas is stupid. I got to get rid of all these excess nonsense I have in life.

They're so cheap because nobody wants to spend more than $100 if a $50+ Memory Card and price of games add even more.

Like my brother.

I'm trying to convert him but those memory cards are proving to be quite the hurdle.

Current base value for a Vita at GS is $80, as per your quote. If you want to make use of the 50% promo towards a PS4/XB1 and return the system later, that'll be an extra $40. (That actually wouldn't be a bad way to go if you have some other systems to trade in at a profit - consider looking for cheap ones on Craigslist if you don't have any. Or buy a used PS4/XB1 for <$300 somewhere.)

Definitely sell the 32GB card separately online. Expect about ~$50-$55 after fees on eBay.

I've just discovered that if the PS network isn't available, all the games I bought from their store can't be played. This is outrageous. What the hell is going on? These aren't multiplayer games. They don't require internet access, yet I'm locked out of them because the network is down. This is unacceptable.

I'm playing Watch Dogs Right now.

Is your console to the primary one?

Well, this is what I'm wondering if what's causing the problem. The original PS4 I bought lasted about 3 days. I've never been able to switch the replacement to the primary console. I've tried doing it but I think it's going to take a call to their customer service to sort that out

I've picked Persona 4 back up after not touching it for a couple of months. I'm not that far in, but it's starting to click. I just had midterms and I'm excited to see where the story is heading.

Yea, I did it during one of those "40% if used towards a pre-order, 10% from this coupon, 10% from that copupon", and put $5 towards the pre-order of MK8 then cancelled it right after. The gamestop guy I worked with was pretty awesome though. This was weeks ago though. But I second what Lemstar said, the 32 GB card alone on ebay is around $50 looking at sold listings, so seems optimal to sell them separately.

Will downtime today potentially fix download speeds? I was downloading Stick it to the Man and the newest DLC for COD and it took forever on my 24mb download speed. I mean Stick it to the Man must of taken 3+ hours and no matter what I did it would not speed up. This was never an issue before with my PS4 and its been wired while being port forwarded the whole time.

you can do it on the website, but obviously that doesn't work right now.

Who is Kazkodaka?

He is Dangan Ronpa.

Dangan Ronpa Series planning and scenario, novel Dangan Ronpa Zero and anime Dangan Ronpa scenario supervision. Currently working on Zettai Zetsume Shoujo. Authoring Guren 5, currently serialized in COMIC Gene.

Never heard of Guren 5 or COMIC Gene, so I probably got one or the other wrong. Or both.

Edit:
P.S. In case anyone gets the mad idea to play/read the series chronologically, please don't. DO NOT TOUCH DANGAN RONPA ZERO BEFORE PLAYING THE GAME. OR EVEN RESEARCH ABOUT IT. DON'T.

don't i need to be able to connect to PSN to play DoS?

I believe if you've logged in since the 30th (the date they mention in the original post about the downtime) online gaming will still work, only the PSN Store and Account Management will be down for you.

If you haven't logged into the PSN since the 30th though... you're locked out.

So PixelJunk Shooter is free and cross-buy for the Ps4 and Vita tomorrow.

I dont have a ps4, can I "buy" the game on the PS4 from the webstore and then will the Vita copy trigger in my download list?

Welp. Borderlands 2 is freaking awesome on Vita.

Please support a genuine 3rd party effort and buy this game. I've had a blast so far.

That's how it has worked for every cross buy title thus far, and there is nothing leading me to believe it will work differently tomorrow. But this is the first PS4 --> something else cross buy PS+ title so far, so it's always possible it is different. Again, I am quite positive it will work the way you described.

But I heard the reviews were terrible.

Yea, I'm glad they correctly identified that if people instead bought a gaming PC and BL2 on that PC it would run better than the Vita port. Who would buy it on vita when you could just pay hundreds of dollars for a new PC. Not like having BL2 portable is awesome or anything, just go back to iPhone games on the go.
