choose better metaphors next time and people won't wonder if you're still 12.

Sorry for not having a university level english, as it ain't even my first language. If you are gonna insult someone, stop looking down on everyone.

You could as well just told me "fuck you" and i'd be happier that way.

Oh wait, that's against the TOS and you're not man enough to do so. So you choose the "elegant" path. Great.

Nothing to see here. Carry on.

Jesus Christ dude he's not commenting on your English. He's saying that comparing third party keyboards to aids when you don't even have to install them is childish. Come the fuck on, really?

oh great, one of the things i hate about android and i love about ios is creeping over

Custom keyboards are like aids. Once into an ecosystem, they crap all over everything.

aids, really?

I'm sure the loved ones of people who have died from AIDS over the decades would really appreciate your comment.

Stop trying to get self righteous, you needlessly compared a piece of software to an epidemic that kills millions of people every year. Regardless of your age, grow up.

On topic, I'm excited for this, typing on iOS has always been somewhat clunky. Might as well give it a try, but wonder what limitations is has or whether it has aesthetic issues.

Whoah, you used a word with 5 syllables. Don't hurt yourself.

Also, quit being a child. You're overreacting for being called out on something stupid you said.

That's great news! The iOS keyboard is one of the reasons I've stuck with Android, I've always found it difficult to type on. I might get an iPhone now!

Oh my god does this mean that soon I'll be able to download a NUMPAD style keyboard for texting with one hand with glorious predictive text??

Not being able to use SwiftKey was one of the biggest things holding me back from getting an Iphone. Can't wait to see what Iphone 6 is all about after this announcement.

You're reading comprehension is worse than your childish hate for Android.

iPhones are fucking expensive, though. I'm rethinking my decision to buy one in the future because I'm not sure if it's actually worth the price, unlike Macbooks.

I can live with the default iOS kb, but more options on iOS isn't a bad thing. I'd love to try out Swype or Swiftkey, although it looks like the new default kb with predictive texting basically is Swiftkey (at least compare to when I used it on android years ago).

Functionality in Swift Key is decent enough but hoping they don't go with that terribly ugly keyboard they use with Android along with its shitty themes. Hoping Apple sets some ground rules on what the keyboards should look like.

I've never owned an iPhone and probably never will, but FINALLY. For any phone to not support this until now is ridiculous. I've only ever used Swype and SwiftKey (outside of testing new ones that appear), but there are quite a few options at this point. Invisible, one line, swipe, predictive, and even some really strange hybrid swiping ones.

So much this. The era of $700 smart phones needs to come to an end.

isn't it already over with options like the Moto G LTE?

rules? that would stifle ideas like Fleksy, Minuum, etc...

Apple gives people what they want and people bitch about them being slow.

You're right, guys, they should just do nothing. That would be best.

I've never liked things like swype and the built in Japanese keyboard of iOS is better than any downloadable one for Android so not sure if I'll ever use this.
if there's no iOS 8 jailbreak then I definitely won't since I'll still be using iOS 7 ( ≖‿≖)

SHOCKING NEWS! iOS now nearly as functional as Ice Cream Sandwich.

If you keep on "innovating" like this, Apple, you may be on par with Jellybean in a couple of years!

No where in the presentation did they say this was innovative. They're not pretending to have invented anything here. The whole point of this is actually them saying they're open to other people's innovations (like Swype).

Pretty much this.

Apple used to be that sunny afternoon rain. The first drop of water hitting the bridge of your nose made you question, why God had decided to ruin your sunny afternoon with rain. As the a few more drops gently grazed your cheek like a first love, you quickly realized just how wrong you were for thinking you knew what you wanted. Before long you're admiring the majestic rainbow that has formed thanks to the odd combinations of things you never knew you wanted.

That's what Apple used to stand for by not giving in to the wants and clamoring of the unwashed masses.

I type super fast on stock iOS7 and Kit Kat keyboards. I never felt the need for a third party solution. What features have you guys so excited about this?

Just the notion that maybe they're open to other third party things.

Maybe soon they will let us choose default apps.

Oh thank god. The iOS keyboard is unusable, like literally, all you people typing on it have actually fabricated your own shared conscious reality.

I'm so surprised by comments like this. Man, I KILL on the iOS keyboard. I can text without looking and can text insanely fast. Years of practice & good autocorrect I guess.

This.

The only people I know who give a shit about it are on GAF.

I bet by Christmas half of your friends will be telling you about this AMAZING keyboard discovered on App Store that you MUST download. Its key feature will be free teddybear stickers lol

It'll be nice to finally have a keyboard on my iPad that matches the one on my Nexus 4.

Sucks that they still won't let us change our browser, but it's a start at least.

I've always been like this too. But then I went around and tried out different keyboards and found the keyboard I like the best. There's nothing wrong with having alternatives.

lol. I love how upset Android fanboys get over anything Apple.

Wait what!? Lol, upset? Android has had this for years, so to be upset would be to not have it. I don't think any android users are even scoffing at the idea that Apple has finally caught up lol! Good for them.

I just love when Apple fanboys catch up, they hate to be reminded.

Edit: It's about time but I never liked swype. It worked for a while but then SwiftKey came along and touched my soul. However still good on Apple finally allowing it.

I prefer having options. I'm just curious what the improvements are. I do very well on both Kit Kat and iOS7. But I tend to not know what I'm missing unless someone makes a case for it, you know?

I can already do the touchscreen equivalent of touch typing, so Swype is slower for me. I'd be interested if there were some features I haven't thought of our there.
I'm currently trying out Fleksy and I'm typing faster than ever. It took a while to get used to but once you do its fast sailing. It's kind of hard to explain how it works for me but you can check it out of you want.

Both iOS and android keyboards are fine as they are and I get what you're saying but it's nice having new ideas on how you type or just having different looks of a keyboard.

Swiftkey's prediction is just amazing and the fact that that prediction isn't locked to a single device makes multi-device people like me sane. Because I don't have to "train" my keyboard multiple times. I did it once by giving it access to my Twitter, Facebook, text messages, and Gmail once and it follows me from device to device using the Swiftkey Cloud. I'm doing this the second my iPad gets 8.0.
