Batman Arkham Knight delayed to 2015

Have you stopped to consider that, for them, maybe so much has been delayed that there isn't anything coming out?

Well, I considered their position, and I still think it's a flawed mindset from them.

Whether they're interested or not in 2014 games doesn't matter, what matters is there's still games coming on 2014 despite the panic going on.

I just bought Arkham Asylum two days ago to prepare for this and to see if I'd like the series. I guess I have even more time to play through the sequels now.

With this gone, I'm only excited for Smash U, Binding of Isaac: Rebirth and Civ: Beyond Earth. Hopefully E3 brings something for PS4 and XB1 because right now it looks bleak. The yearly CoD and Battlefield do not move the needle for me.

That game was due out in 2013. It got an extra year. Game is already "content complete". By September that game will have gone gold and they'll be working on the DLC.

....In what way?

Because whether they're interested in those games coming out on 2014 (Destiny, Dragon Age, whatever) or not doesn't matter. What matters is that they're still coming. You're interested in them? Cool. You're not? That's fine. But don't pretend they're not gonna release on schedule. Well, some of them at least.... ._.

Besides, games like Destiny aren't gonna delay to 2015 when it's already delayed from it's Spring release.

I feel like holding your breath for a 2014 Smash might be a dangerous game. It might happen, but this is a series from a creator that will, and often does, demand delays. And for a game that's first version is supposed to be landing in just a few months, Sakurai has this unnerving habit of writing about them still deciding on important aspects in the daily updates, as if the games are still in a bit of flux, instead of mostly in stone.

Does this hypothetical person just not like games all that much ?

Maybe they like games, just not the games coming out as much as the ones that have been delayed?

You're asking them to care about games that don't matter to them. That's illogical.

2014 is a horrible year for next gen.

So far the only (non download/indie) PS4 game ive purchased is Ffxiv.

And for the year I have...Driveclub in my intend to buy list, and thats it.

Everything else is cross gen. Maybe that next gen only AC will deliver.

Seriously, Smash is going to end up being January 2015 for Wii U fans. Winter 2014? We already had that--Winter is December to March. Is Smash this year's 3D world?

Ahhhh. Batman is cross-gen.

No. No, it wasn't.

I just feel that the fact they are ignoring games that are coming this year just because it doesn't hold their interest is a flawed mindset from them.

That's my opinion on it.

3DS should at least get it this year. That's the version I want it for. But it would be unfortunate if it slipped to 2015 on the Wii U, even if it isn't technically a delay.

The complaints about no games in 2014 are hilarious.

Agreed. I have a huge backlog and like 20 games on my gamefly queue for stuff coming out later this year. Do these people even like video games? There's a ton of stuff coming out to play.

God dammit, I was looking forward to this game. So when in 2015 is this coming then? I'll be disappointed if it's next Fall.

Smash, Sunset, Horizon 2, there's plenty of amazing looking exclusives coming this yr.
Yeah, why I said "not as bad" but far less impressive.
But why limit themselves like that? I mean, it's one thing saying "there's no games I'm personally interested in since I have a PC" is completely different then coming on here and complaining about there being no games this year when in fact, there is already plenty. I hate delays, but in a way, it's not so bad since I was going to have to sacrifice a few games here and there to buy others. Now, I can buy mostly all the games I'm interested in since they're spread out better.
Well, my logic here is more "the new consoles will have been out for a year, and there's been time to get more polished games out that've been in the oven longer, let's see what we get!" and in that regard it probably falls flatter than just about any major console in the past. It's still going to be a really good year and we may be surprised come E3 since some companies DO prefer to announce their games at the E3 before a fall release, but it kind of feels like a key turning point either will be late or be dulled.

Incidentally, this is a really good example of why it may not be such a great idea to sell off all your last gen stuff in anticipation of next gen, though I guess depending on tastes and backlogs keeping last gen around really may be irrelevant.

Damn that sucks. Was looking forward to this but I haven't even started Origins yet so I guess I have more time to finish it now.

I'm still fine with the release list for this year as long as nothing else slips...

Dragon Age, Shadows of Mordor, Alien, Evil Within, AC:Unity, Destiny & Farcry 4 should keep me busy.

Never buy consoles in their first year on market

Everyone has their own unique set of expectations for next-gen. And it's understandable that there hasn't been enough in the first year for some people.

That said, my PS4 purchase has EASILY been justified already. I've only had it since Christmas 2013, and I've enjoyed the following:

- Resogun. This addictive game isn't available on any other platform, and I've sunk a couple dozen hours into chasing high scores. Looks beautiful and is a blast to play. Not to mention it was free with PS+.

- Infamous: Second Son. Another PS4 exclusive, and another great game. The most beautiful console game I've ever seen. Using the superpowers was a ton of fun, and I look forward to playing it again in my evil play through.

- Outlast was also free with PS+, and is a console exclusive on PS4. It's my favorite horror game of all time.

- Watch Dogs apparently performs very poorly on PS3. Good thing I'm playing a rock-solid and beautiful version on PS4.

- Assassin's Creed 4 was also beautiful and a joy to play on PS4.

Next-gen purchase has ALREADY been justified for me regardless of what comes in the remainder of this year (though I'm stoked for Destiny, AC5, Far Cry 4, etc.)

Everything you mentioned except AC is cross-gen, even open world Farcry 4 is cross-gen,

Publishers are ruining the beginning of this gen because of their greed... :(

That's my opinion on it.

That seems like a good reason to ignore something though.

Holy hell, REALLY? Damn it, man. Now this one really hurts. The others not so much but shit. Why even announce it only to delay it a few weeks later???? God

What you call greed, most people call wanting to stay in business.

You're not going to get the games you want on an install base of 10 million. It won't happen. So either you pare those games down or release them cross-gen and they're not going to pare them down because then those games don't sell.

I'll say it for the tenth time, the ps4 spring 2015 club is looking good ...

Also, 2014 will end up being a really down year for games. (Not a complaint, just an observation) Can anyone else here remember a year with such a lack of big titles? (...and yes, I am not counting the annual COD/asscreed releases)

That seals it, no PS4 for me in 2014. This was by far my most wanted current generation-only game and it's been delayed along The Orders of the world. This sucks!

Oh, who am I kidding, I'll still be playing Mario Kart 8 in October.
