Batman Arkham Knight delayed to 2015

Disappointing, since I was partly going to buy a PS4 or Bone for this and The Evil Within, and base my decision on which way to go on E3 reveals. And I'll probably still get one for TEW, if it's superior enough over last gen versions.

But yeah, not a problem, since I have a Wii U :p

Man, unless E3 turns things around, 2014 is shaping up to be a terrible year. Far Cry 4 will probably be next.

Yeah, I was feeling pretty bummed about getting a next-gen console instead of upgrading my PC a bit more simply because there's nothing there. I'm not interested in Destiny any longer now that I know more about it, so there's literally only DriveClub and that's a nice-to-have more than anything. I suppose Samurai Warriors 4 is getting an October release too. For everything else, it's on PC so I'll get it there with better graphics for cheaper. Ho hum.

I really hope the Big Three deliver at E3, but I really don't think they're going to be able to announce anything that will save 2014. The Last of Us might win GOTY again -- and I don't even LIKE the game -- simply because there's fuck all else that came out.

The one game slated for the rest of '14 that I wanted

the one

game

Wii U's greatest boon will be the delays of non-Nintendo games. Until Smash Bros. gets delayed to March of 2015

I'm ok with that. I'd rather have a game that was one year more "in the oven" to ensure that everything works well than one that was completely rushed just to meet the deadline.
There is a plethora of hidden gems on other consoles that I haven't played yet, so I can wait.

Oh well. I was hoping that this would hold me over till Smash Bros. came out, assuming that's coming out around the same time. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer of a wait.

Covered earlier. The BM fires the nonleathals at humans, and the BOOMBOOMs at the unmanned tanks.

Which of course would then beg the question why Batman doesn't use non-lethal rounds outside of the Batmobile. Or how fatal collateral damage is avoided when you're shooting off missiles in an urban environment. Unmanned tanks, huh?

I kinda wished they had focused on exclusively giving the Batmobile more cool traversal abilities. Ignoring that all the guns don't really fit into the Batman mythos, I don't think "more shooting" was on anyone's wishlist for this franchise.

щ(ಥДಥщ) This year is Batman's 75th Anniversary and you're gonna fucking delay the game till next year?! NOOOOOOOOOO!

Common guys, we will currently get the Arkam Definitive Collection to make up for this :D....I think?

That really could happen though; WB wants to make this a yearly/bi-yearly franchise, so I think its reasonable that WB Montreal (the guys behind Origins and Arkam City Armored Edition) to make 'Definitive ports of the first two Arkam Games with 1080p, 60FPS and all the DLC content the games originally had; it can tide us over till next fall when the game launches (then next year we might get another 'collection' with the Origins games for PS4/X1).

Man, it really seems that this new generation is filled with 'remasters' and up-ports of PS3/360 games (at least AC Unity, Far Cry 4 and the new Call of Duty are still coming this fall....I think?) :l.

Haven't even played city or origins so I'm ok with this. Take your time rocksteady. I'll have a ps3, ps4, vita, Wii u, and PC backlog to tend to. No rush :)

I'm okay with this. There's still plenty of games I'm interested in coming this year (granted if they make their dates) and I'm confident in Rocksteady to deliver the game when it's ready and up to their standards.

*phew* I was worried for The Evil Within.

I mean, the awesome batman sequel made by the original arkham city developers overshadowed everything that month.

One man's joy is another man's sorrow.

Any chance with this delay WB assigns a team to make a Wii U version aswell? Nintendo got an opportunity with so many big games being delayed to give Wii U life the holiday season.

Actually I am liking this new trend of delaying the games instead of pushing out buggy half baked games. We don't need so many games at all the time, its good to take some break in between :)

Well I'm sure the other games being released in October just breathed a sigh of relief.....if they're not delayed too.

PS4 has no games doesn't seem like much of a joke now, does it? That's right. Bitches.

Hurts so much, on the inside.

Wasn't it just announced two months ago? Why even bother putting 2014 in that trailer if the game clearly wasn't going to be ready?

I was never, ever, ever (getting back together? no, that's not right) going to play The Evil Within. Some people want very specific things.

lol, damn. First time I've seen you in awhile and we get this? No E3 spoilers?
It burns 'cause it's true.

Hmm I haven't read more than the OP and first half of the thread but was any reason given on the delay?

The Eurogamer piece is pretty much a bait and switch "This game we announced 2 months ago to release in Oct is now delayed until some murky time next year.......Here's some stuff about the batmobile"

Like seriously what reason is given for the delay?

I'm curious if it's development issues or some weird fear of poor sales due to only being next gen?

It's such an odd move

Are you not aware that the Batmobile actually has guns in most Batman related fiction?

Which Batman related fiction? I thought the addition of guns to the Batmobile/Batwing was most notably a Tim Burton decision, and something of an annoyance for fans of the comics. He opens fire on a parade and literally tries to gun down the Joker in Batman 1989.

I don't recall guns on any other adaptations -- not in Nolan trilogy, not in 60's TV show, not in the 90's animated series.

The crazy bike it transforms into is like half shotgun though? It's rather unlikely then that the batmobile doesn't have some built in guns which batman simply chooses not to use

Oh. I'll leave it up to a mod to split bump this if they want, but for what it's worth, Kevin Conroy did an interview with some magazine last month where he said Arkham Knight was 40% complete. I assumed Kevin didn't know what he was talking about, because no game that's 40% complete is going to get to 100% by October.

Clearly, I was wrong. Conroy says something, you fucking pay attention.

40% complete? Hasn't Rocksteady been working on this game for like, three years?
