PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

I hate that I don't enjoy Trine 2 at all, because it's so beautiful. I can't get past the loose, floppy platforming and the fact that you can really only use one character for combat (who can die and leave you with only the other two). Too much of an orb collectathon for me too. Pixeljunk seems ok, but pretty tame so far.

Where is Sly and Mutant Mudds on NA PS+? :( Surge Deluxe is up but that seemingly was supposed to be for EU.

Claimed them all anyway. Hope Sony adds the missing games soon.

I beat the first Trine, immediately moved on to Trine 2, and couldn't play it. I don't know why, but it just felt inferior to the first.

For the new page! All PS+ games at once starts in July not June, the blog post said this. Mutant Mudds/Sly/Terraria are coming later this month. I hope you did not buy Mutant Mudds or Sly, as you will not be reimbursed once they become free. Surge is still free for NA PS+ since it just became free last week, so it is still from May.

man, 1001 spikes definitely doesn't look like my type of game.

i don't get the people who can endure that pain.
Probably a game for me. If the game has tight controls the difficulty forces you to engage with them in a manner that puts you into a state of flow more satisfying than a more casual platformer. That's if the controls are good though.

No no, I knew they're coming so I'm just patiently waiting. :)

I forgot the all at once bit is next month. :P

Surge Deluxe is odd though, that could be a screw up?

Ahh you got in before my edit! NA games are free for 4 weeks after they come in because of the old "every week something new system". Surge deluxe was free for PS+ starting last week (or the week before?) so it will stay free until its 4 weeks are up.

E: Just looked it up, Surge was added to NA PS+ on 5/20 so it will stay until 6/24, 4 weeks. This means we will likely have a week or two in July where we have the 6 July free games as well as whatever is released in the later weeks of June. Good time for new people to sign up I suppose.

Huh, I thought I grabbed everything on May 27th. I didn't see Surge! Better late than never! Thanks! :)

Looks like P4D is going to be at e3.
Atlus sent Destructoid a teaser of their e3 badge

Had one quick look at that Atlus teaser for E3, and there's no doubt. I tried to look for some art that would fit into the silhouette perfectly, but this was the closest thing i coulld find.

Still one can see how they are really similar.

EDIT: One closer look at it, and I actually think that this pic of Teddy would fit perfectly in there.

I love how the Canadian version of the SEN store has a banner for Sony Rewards, a service that only works in the US.

Thanks, Sony - got my hopes up that you'd expanded the service. :(

If Fallout is anything to go by you guys are going to get annexed into the United States anyway. You'll get to use it once that happens :P

What's this about? Canadian as well.

It's a loyalty program where you're rewarded points for purchasing Sony products (movies, music, games, electronics, etc.). You then spend those points on products available on the site. They offer a bunch of stuff, but on GAF most people go for the PSN credit. I don't know why the program is currently US-only.

Alright, I'm eyeing down a few games.
Ni No Kuni is a big no because of it's obscene file size. I'd have to delete Dragon's Dogma, Demon Souls, Tomb Raider, and Tales of Xillia. No.

Atelier. I have Totori on Vita but I just have no motivation to play it beyond like 2 hours. Combat is pretty "Jam On X"-y. And the entire thing just kind of comes off as immature. Not to mention I don't like either the subs or the dubs and I you got me stuck with a $20 money sink that I'll probably never play. Is this one any different? The reviews say it's a good jumping in point and a complete overall improvement over the others.

And Tales Of Graces f. I have Xillia, but I am eternally cursed to not play more than 5 minutes at a time. I don't even know if I like it or not. Should I buy Graces f? Does it start off fast or something?

EDIT : I was supposed to put this in the Flash Sale thread... I'll go do that anyway.

Do PS+ claims also give you points? That'd literally be free points so I doubt it.

Hope this comes here soon.

You earn Sony Rewards points off of every dollar spent on a linked PSN account. As the PS+ IGC games have no dollar amount attached to them, I doubt you'd receive any points for that. You do get points for signing up to PS+, though.

Ah, makes sense, thanks. :)

Well I'm already on PS+ so that's $50 of points I ain't getting if they open the service now. :P

Only spent about $8 so far and that's on the Rayman games. Waiting to see what to sink my teeth into next. Sad that FFX/X2 isn't cheaper (at least $20). :(

I'm a sales person/cheapskate. I'm hoping for a mass of deals during E3.

Anyone buy 1001 Spikes? How is it?

I'm loving it right now on Vita. The music and sound is great, the menus and presentation are excellent (think Ninja Gaiden NES cut scenes and feel), the controls are pitch perfect, and it's sufficiently nerve wracking but ingeniously fair. Not as scary as Spelunky, but more traditional than La Mulana. This is 8 bit style done right.

If you like indie and retros, snag it whenever.

Trine 2 is great on Ps4 (played through on WiiU last winter) played a few sections-seems* smoother than WiiU version.

Downloaded but haven't tried War Thunder. looking forward to it!-also grabbed PixelJunk

sad the vita games aren't this week as well-will be waiting for free Terraria next week then :/

I can't really complain but I'm greedy :)

hey bro gotta play that game made on rpg maker on your $250 handheld

If it's a good game, does it fucking matter where/how they made it?

That being said... I only remember two being good: Yume Nikki (and clones) and To the Moon (I guess it was made with it).

Tales of Graces f (been wanting this)
or FFX|X-2 HD Vita? (bought the PS3 LE)
Consider the fact that one is a game you haven't played yet and another is one you already own and can play right now without spending another dime. You can afford to wait for the latter.

That being said FFX on Vita makes some of the grind more enjoyable.

Both and a physical copy of Tales of Graces f.

Don't actually do this.

was wondering if Tales of Graces f would go even lower
that game is overpriced (physical retail)

hmm yea I finished FFX on the PS2... bought the physical LE just for the physical goodies... game is still sealed.

going strictly-digital for the Vita, which is why I haven't got the game yet :/

FFX/X-2 is best on vita! I have the PS3 physical LE sealed, but I got the Vita digital to play and never regretted it. Especially if you don't wanna open your PS3 copy. Though its a toss up if Graces will get cheaper since there are still some random PS1 games that still go for $20 digital (and are hard to find physical).

I thought Rainbow Moon was suppose to be 4.89 on Vita? It's at 6.99 but the PS Blog has it listed twice for both 4.89 and 6.99. :-\

Yeah. I don't want to buy the PS3 one since I'm sure I won't be playing the game there anyway.

At least this gives me some time to think if I really want Rainbow Moon.

What's the gaf consensus on Rainbow Moon?
Vita was made for digital only. We're doing it right man.
Just noticed you changed your avatar again. If I'm correct isn't that art style from Yamatogawa? Witchcraft maybe?
:P

Why do you do this to yourself
