PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Vita was made for digital only. We're doing it right man.

Just noticed you changed your avatar again. If I'm correct isn't that art style from Yamatogawa? Witchcraft maybe?
:P

Habit from IGN. Darn icon wars... I know people use icons to recognize people, so I'll stop.

You're right about the artist, but not the manga. It comes from Power Play, though the character is identical to the one in Witchcraft and even shares the same name.

Hello folks.

That Flash Sale is mightily tempting. I think I am gonna get Tales of Graces F and Mass Effect Omega since it is the only major DLC that I miss from Mass Effect Trilogy that I bought.

Question: if I have to choose only one and only one, which one is a better purchase: Demon's Souls or Dark Souls 2?

Also, Ni no Kuni is 25 GB, correct? The price is very tempting but the size........

Definitely Demon's Souls as of now. There's so many bugs and glitches in 2 that it's better to play it on a PC at the moment.

Plus it's cheaper.

Edit: Yeah, what Gamerloid said. If you really like to MP then I'd just do DkS2.

Dark Souls 2 should have way more online life than Demon Souls at this point. It's probably best to go with the newer release if that's your thing. If not, I can't say really say since I have no experience in either title. Ni no Kuni is 21.3 GB, but even if you're worried about space, I'd still secure the purchase at that price. You can always make space when you're ready to play it.

Tales of Graces f (been wanting this)
or FFX|X-2 HD Vita? (bought the PS3 LE)

Dark Souls 2 is pretty amazing, but I wouldn't want to play it on PS3. :P
I'd opt for Demon's Souls and start with the beginning of the series, so to speak (if it's on sale, that is), as Dark Souls 2 should only lower in price over the next year (or however long it takes you to get that far, especially if you beat Demon's Souls and then move on to Dark Souls before attempting the sequel).

Ok, so I'm currently taking on InfamousSecond Son. First Infamous game, and so far I'm enjoying it. After I'm done with it (will platinum), I'm going to finish up The Walking Dead Vita (should platinum by default). I'm not sure what I'll do after that. Either I work on the platinum for either Uncharted Golden Abyss or Muramasa Rebirth. I just need to tackle Fury Mode for that, but I have a ways to go for Uncharted seeing that I only cleared the game.

One game I see being a problem is Killzone Mercenaries since it has online trophies. Ugh...

So I just bought Rainbow Moon Vita only.

For those seeing the Vita only version at 6.99 or higher just go to the check out and it will revert to $4+.

Just picked up Sly Cooper Trilogy for Vita on an impulse.. I've never played any of these games before, but they look pretty fun.

im confused. arent all ps plus free games supposed to go up at once now?
i could have sworn i saw terraria vita was supposed to be free this month but its not on the store

edit: woops, apparently the change doesnt kick in til july

Never played any of the PixelJunk Shooter games.

Shooter Ultimate, is so perfect on the Vita, I played for like 4 hours straight.

Good way to break in my 2000 (aside from Borderlands!)

You're in for a treat, one of the most fun game series out there. The Sly, Ratchet and Jak games were the trifecta of incredible platformers during the sixth gen.

I missed them all. Shame Jak vita has a bad port. I have no other way of playing the series though.

Sucks that there's no way to get the Mass Effect games individually for the flash sale. Anyone know if you can at least download them separately? Just about done finally playing through ME2, and ME3 on its own is more expensive than the whole trilogy.

You did say you liked the challenge :P
How is the DLC anyway?

Highly recommend if you enjoy the core game.
It's an interesting side story that takes place before the main game and eventually kind of ties in to it (at least in the ending that I got the first time).

There are no blades for Nekomata DLC, but there's a really cool skill tree that works like forging blades. Sometimes you get passive effects like attack +21 or 10% spirit consumption reduction. Sometimes you get items to equip on your various forms (cat girl, cat, monster cat/avatar [which is kinda like a super/ultra in fighting games; build meter, transform, use invincibility to wreck things while rampaging]). The cat girl form is a bit like playing as wolverine and plays similar to kisuke/momohime with specials being dashing slash attacks (it changes depending on if you're airborne or grounded) and the cat plays like a range projectile user where it has 3 specials on the ground and 3 in the air depending on how long you charge up.

Once you complete the story, which if you speed run can take about an hour (I had 1:05 for the trophy run for that, but I think it took me 3 or so screwing around on chaos mode), you can then run loose over all of Japan and the original game including all the caves of evil and all of Momohime's and Kisuke's bosses.

For the $5 they ask, it's worth it.
For the $2.50 I paid, it was a steal.

I'm assuming the 2nd one is similar, but I'm going to stick with this one for a bit because I don't want to end up forgetting the nuances I've learned about playing as Okoi/Miike and learning a new character... so I'll probably go and do the rest of the bosses/caves with her (and complete fury mode) before moving on to the next one.

Holy shit DoubleEleven !! Could you not get the framerate out of the teens for your PixelJunk Shooter port? The framerate is so low it's affecting input lag !! Then again, it's Native-Res. So all is well. And even though DoubleEleven might not think so, it's a positive that the Vita version keeps the OG Art Style.

There is a distinct lack of any games coming out during E3 week and the week after. Megatons incoming?

Avoid Droid is slated for "Early June", and Atelier Rorona Plus is slated for June 20th - but yeah, it's pretty bare.

Also, there's that Senran Kagura rumour due to the date on the E3Insider page, pointing to a June 10th release - but that hasn't been confirmed by anyone.

Edit; Oh, and MotoGP 14 on June 20th too.

Is the Shinovi Versus press release not enough confirmation for you that it isn't coming on June 10th? It clearly says fall release, and the date given to gamestop is estimated date.

Pixeljunk Shooter on Vita plays very nice and is native res. Very happy with the port. Wish I had paid for it.

Why from time to time do I get the urge to play Ni no Kuni on my Vita. Would you based Sony make it happen? Pleassse?

Ni no kuni is going to take forever to download lol

I bought the disc version 3-4 weeks ago, for $20, now it's $5. My Steamitis is making me really want to buy it even though i shouldn't...

I want to buy conception but even for $30 it's too much. I'll hold off for $20

Oh, they didn't take the ugly PS4 'revamped' graphics? Good.

Hah. I wish I had your enthusiasm. This is SCEA, dude. They'll completely ignore anything that isn't PS4 for hours in their conferences.

After Disgaea 4 this year, if NISA/Atlus aren't announcing Disgaea 1's sequel (D2) then the system is basically dead for real. :/

Persona 5 port or Persona 3 Platinum. Believe.
Seriously though, the system's kinda lacking in high profile releases going into E3, and I'm worried 15 FPS Ports of old PS2 games might be all we get there :/. That said, they could make the Vita portion of the conference just them announcing a bigger memory card and I'd be happy.

I don't remember how it was in previous years but with gamers and industry attention centered on E3 anything released on that week would be totaly lost in media noise.

ME DLC in the flash sale finally tipped me on picking up the trilogy, still haven't played 3 yet. Now just need to find a spare 80 hours to complete it all

Edit: I want Mass Effect Trilogy for 15€ in Europe D:

Your right. It was a lot funnier in my head when no one actually faced any consequences.

Don't worry :)

Looks like P4D is going to be at e3.
Atlus sent Destructoid a teaser of their e3 badge
http://www.destructoid.com/teaser-h...e-insert-can-you-guess-the-game--275859.phtml

No Persona 5? D:

Atlus just need to announce that Mass Destruction will be playable.

The film version please. It's better than the original.

Don't forget Burn my Bread

I'm hoping they include the Reincarnation versions of the tracks. Those are good too

Yes please. Hope they include the two opening from Persona 4 Animation. They were quite cool too.

I think I've already shared my opinion about Graces. Completely awesome battle system but boring story and characters. .It's not the game I'd choose if I wanted to give it a try to the franchise for the first time.

This is an opinion. But I'm playing Ni no Kuni and it's really boring. Story is uninteresting, I don't like the battle system at all (AI is terrible) and the main cast isn't that good either. Graphics are cool, I like Ghibli's designs. But that's not enough to keep me playing.

At least I only spent 6€ on it...

Demon's Souls have quite some people playing. I'm playing through it with online enabled and I'm seeing quite a lot of ghosts and messages. So that's not a problem.

thanks for the thoughts guys!

hmm by the way, I can't seem to use my Amazon promo credit on the PSN Store Card anymore...
the only way I can is to buy the Store Card + PlayStation Plus Subscription bundle

is anyone looking to get PS+ either 3 months or 1 year?
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HHZ43VI/?tag=neogaf0e-20

anyone wanna help me out? :X
I take the $50 Store Credit, you take the 1 Year or 3 months US PS+
there's no special discount.. it's just that Amazon does not allow me to use my promo credit on PSN Store Cards (but allows me to use it on this bundle)

man. it's gonna be tough trying to find all the Rockband DLCs

What is wrong with me?
Why am I trying to do Fury mode for the Nekomata DLC?

"Why?", indeed.

The film version please. It's better than the original.

Just remembered I still need to watch this. I'll try to fix that on the weekend.

Toukiden Kiwami demo is coming on on the 5th too, I'm going to try both of them (well, on the 12th for FW), can't wait ^_^

Same here! But with Toukiden I'm more interested in testing the netcode than the new changes (for some reason, it was always a pita to play with fellow gaffers).

You know what? I really think we can be a little optimistic for the Vita's e3 and Scea in general, is already known that at e3 there will be at least Diva f2, Reel Fishing(lol), Persona 4 Dance, Danganronpa 2 and Natural Doctrine, they are all little and niche games and i'm only interested on the last two, but they are neither late ports nor indies, add that there will be for sure other already announced games(Oreshika? Freedom Wars?) some indies and maybe one or two new Scea's late port and we can almost safely say that Vita will have more a little more show this year, imo it's a sign that the new Scea's boss cares more about Vita :)
