Time to catch up on work while listening to this all day. I hope to get everything taken care of by tomorrow.

So exciting.

My boss decided that this would be a hellish week for me at work (one court case++), so won't be able to catch much of it live. But still, public holiday here in Norway tomorrow so hope to catch the conferences at least!

That new Charisma.com album is really good! I hope Jeff gets to hear it at some point, I wanna hear some impressions after he clued everyone in to the last album.

The new one is too dubstep-y! But it's still good. I'm not sure if i like it better than the first one. MV was kinda disappointing though.

This has probably been posted in the other E3 threads, but if you're on mobile and can't see GB's upcoming box, this is a handy reference:

Yeah, both of their most recent albums are on iTunes, at least in the UK. Plus most of their better songs are on iTunes.

You think so? I'm not really getting that feeling from it much at all, unless the back half of the album goes nuts (only half-way through it atm). It seems a lot close to something like Major Lazer. Especially Track 8, which is totally sampling Pon de Floor unless I'm going nuts.

The first one, I liked it a lot but I fell into only listening to like half the songs after a while. Mainly "George".

Mr.BEER is probably my favorite off the new album so far, though I haven't heard the whole thing yet. There are definitely some dubsteppy tracks this time around, but those are solid too.

Yup first one is really solid! I listen to it all the time. I dunno, maybe I just haven't listened to it as much, but there are a couple songs on there with a "drop" and I just shrug. They don't need stuff like that. They are good enough with out it.

I generally agree, luckily there's enough songs on the album that don't seem to be built around a drop.

The best part is how insane the song titles are. 100% BOOBY.

W-wh...what!?

(This is fantastic but what a weird change. Yes it's more content but surely someone is going to be *at* the conference?)
It doesn't really matter if they are there as they'll be streaming the same time anyway. There's really no point of any of them being there and if they were they would just be wasted having to sit there.

Hmmm. Somehow I find Ai Ai Syndrome has catchier songs. But maybe it's because I haven't listened to DIStopping enough.

I think Ai Ai Syndrome was a little more consistent tonally, and was basically a perfect 30 minute chunk. DIStopping is really really good but I think it has its ups and downs. It's interesting to see them swing a little further towards both pop (Gonchi has such a rad voice, I'm glad she sings more) and also towards Itsuka's grimy, low-key rap stuff. Some songs sound like they could have come from her solo (Meliyas) stuff.

I'm interested to see what comes from Itsuka's solo stuff this year. I wanted to join her fan club thing but it was mostly for physical items and I'm outside of JP.

edit: It didn't even occur to me that it would be available on US Itunes, I ended up buying the mp3s off of amazon.jp. whoops. Whatever, I'd rather help their JP chart ratings than the US ones since they'll probably never come here anyway.

Maybe in future it might be a good idea to do a prediction podcast without talking about games under embargo so that we can hear their predictions before the games are announced, not after.

but you can't do a prediction podcast when you already know the answer to the predictions.

if they are going to do a prediction podcast they need to do it like a month before

Is there anyway to download the driving mixlrs? I'd like to listen to them while I'm out and about today.

I go to the massive effort of dragging a file into my Dropbox folder and some motherfuckers can't even be bothered to read a couple posts up...GOD

Calling it a predictions podcast is a bit of a misnomer... in the past they've used the term "closed envelope podcast." The point being A) Jeff can talk about the games that were embargoed until the press conference, and also B) you get to immediately compare what they thought the press conferences were gonna be with what they actually were, usually to comedic effect.

Looking thru some Japanese lyrics sites, I found out that most of their songs are composed by Itsuka and other collaborators such as 守尾崇 (Morio Takashi) or Yasuhito Yama. I dunno since when I thought that it's composed by Gonchi.

I have a physical copy of Ai Ai Syndrome and was surprised to read that in the liner notes too. I guess I had assumed Gonchi did the music as well. It's just interesting because it's pretty different from Itsuka's other stuff. Less samples, more pop-ish.

Just wondering if the Drive to E3 show archive was working for anyone else? Its just buffering non stop for me. Its probably just my internet but im not sure.

I've seen some people reporting the same problem. Worked fine for me though. Some Gaffer uploaded a mp3 version, a link should be a few posts up.

Someone mentioned earlier that it has problems with some browsers. I switched to Chrome and it started working fine.
