Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (Naughty Dog) Shown - 2015

Ok ok ok ok, I think we need to all calm down and breathe deeply and let's not forget the most important part of this game: Scale.

Almost every other IP has increased it's scale due to the the increased RAM budget but I worry that this 1080p/60fps target would force this to become more, if not just as linear as ND's last-gen offerings. Hopefully I would be extremely wrong about this because it's the one fear I hope that won't be vindicated.

Hopefully they don't feel the need to make it all gritty and emotional because the Last of Us was. They're different games that need to be treated differently.

it's uncharted. I'm sure most of us are use to/like the linearity.

Well Uncharted isn't a openish game, it's tight and closed, and that's the way Uncharted fans like their uncharted. Leave the scale to Arkham Knight.

I love ND, I love their games, I know their abilities well. But damn, even I catch myself questioning this. That shows how unbelievable that looked to me. This is the reason that while I'm primarily a PC gamer, I have a PS4 sitting downstairs.

Imagine if they went ultra-dark-Drake though. "You guys call Nate a mass murdering psychopath? Well here you go". Hacking people to bits, cutting ears off for wearable accessories, etc.

Hey he's wearing the ring on his finger

Is that new? I'm rusty on Uncharted 3. Did he get married in between games or something?

i thought he and elena wore matching rings? he's always had sir francis drake's ring on his neck though

It looked very pretty, but we really didn't learn anything at all.
All we know is that a very pretty Uncharted game is coming in 2015, and that's kind of disappointing to me.
At least they weren't showing us an unfinished prototype.
:P

So, the teaser they showed at Ps4 launch... is it still relevant?
Or did they change they story and characters since then?

Well it seems to be about pirates and what not still, looks like it could be in Madagascar. I think it's safe to assume that the teaser at the launch is still fairly relevant.

Drake and Elena were married between UC2 and UC3, briefly separated and then got back together at the end of UC3.

Jaw dropping, it surpassed my expectations, it looks like CG.
Too bad they're not ready to show gameplay, probably in December.

Drake looks to be about in his mid to late 40s. Probably 12-15 years after U3.

That's way too long. If my calculations are right, when he met sully in
Cartagena, he was 15, then when you're in France and the scene after the house explodes sully says something in the line that he's getting too old for all the action and says he has some 20 years over Nate meaning he was in his mid 30s when he met Nate, so Nate, at the time of U3 is 15+20=35 putting sully in his mid 50s at U3 present day. In the uncharted website it says it's "a few years" after U3. So I would put Nate in his late 30s/early 40s

hope that makes sense.

Pretty sure peoples' fears of the "serious tone" are way overblown and concern trolling. Just because they made TLOU doesn't mean they'll make every game as dark as that now. The same dudes made UC2. I mean the initial trailer for UC2 seemed about as dark as this one.
