Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (Naughty Dog) Shown - 2015

If ND is capable on producing these kind of graphics, Santa Monica, GOW4 will destroy everything on consoles.

Best looking game ON EVERY PLATFORM, and this will stay likely for a long time. Where are now the PC master races trolling us; the pitiful console peasants? Look what simple peasants can do to master races: watch Assassin's Creed Unity gameplay and see how simple peasants DECAPITATED master races, and that was with the help of assassins which are The Order 1886 and Uncharted 4 at 1080p/60FPS. Sadly two assassins were missing or not connetced yet (lol AC unity has 4 assassins coop) and the missing assassins are Quantum Dream game and GOW4 which I am sure will look even better than Uncharted 4 (also Guerilla Games open wolrd rpg is a secret 5th assassin working in the shadows lol. Sony was too much indulgent , otherwise if all 4 assassins were connected and playing together at the satge, it will be a massive massacre for all master races lol /s

So is this going to be final art box?

Without Uncharted 4 written on the cover i would recognize Drake. He looks very different somehow.

Aside from all the graphical talk.

Have people talked about the inscription on the cages at the end? Seems to say:

"for we recieve the due rewards of our deeds"

Searching that up, I'm getting a Bible passage (Luke 23:41). Wonder if that bears any significance, or hints towards the game's narrative.

It probably does. IGN did a rewind theater on the trailer. Their original reveal had some bible references as well.

Even if the story and graphics are all that it's cracked up to be (I love UC games), what can they really do to revitalize the formula of TPS cover shooters?

They really did a lot of great things with TLOU because of it's setting, which lets you experiment with TPS mechanics by adding crafting, and non regenerative health. It made sense in the context of that game as a package.

To stay in the vein of the action TPS that UC is what do you guys think naughty dog can do to spice things up? I mean, they likely still need regenerative health and all the other TPS cliches.

What do you guys think can and should be done in this genre so I can be excited. Not saying the developers can't do what I'm asking, but what are honest possibilities naughty dog can come up with to improve or innovate on UCs core gameplay.

Ahh, of course they would. Struggling to find a connection between that and the whole pirates thing though :/

From further research, sounds like it was said by a robber (thief I guess) crucified next to Jesus, just a bit before his death. May have some significance I guess, or it may not.

This "concern" is hilarious.

I'm sure Neil Druckman and Bruce Straley have a pretty firm grip on what the Uncharted franchise is all about, considering their past key rolls on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2. For fuck's sake, Straley was the co-director of Uncharted 2. Do people think these guys only did TLOU?

It's hilarious, because that's exactly what some people said about Uncharted 3 and the sand scene.

Neil wanted to kill Elena in U2, so yeah he wanted to go darker. I really hope they keep it light hearted.

"In game" does not mean "gameplay".

As with all of ND's PS3 games, it looks like this is a cutscene rendered in-engine with higher quality assets. It may or may not be prerendered. But the actual gameplay models have never matched the ones seen in cutscenes.

I'd like to be proven wrong, but there's no reason to believe that this is any different than their standard operating procedure.

Exactly. Still amazing.

Even if the game might look this way when it´s finished.

They are presumably 15 months away from release.

There is just no way this was in engine just now.

Probably the end of Drake as the lead in the series. But no way in hell are they going to drop Uncharted. It's way too successful to just end it.

Yeah, I'm guessing this is Drake 's last game and afterwards the series will get rebooted and probably go to another studio inside Sony. ND wants to do other things and TLOU proved they can sell original games off their name.

That font looks like something you would see on the cover of a middle-aged woman's love fantasy book.

Not that I would know...

This. I'm impressed nonetheless, cannot wait to see the seamless transition of gameplay to cutscene back to gameplay this time around. I'm sure it will look stunning.

Sony EU just uploaded this to their press media site and titled it as "final keyart". Sorry if this has been posted before.
My beloved Drake looks so different... :(

E: Whoops has been posted almost at the beginning. Oh well.

but they didn't.

The discussion if it is prerendered or rendered in engine in realtime is somewhat pointless. It is not a technical marvel to render one person in a limited environment without any gameplay attached.

If the full game with lots of enemies is rendered at the same quality (which I hope) that would be rather impressive.

And that's what I'm talking about.

I think it's not possible yet. Just waaaay to much polygons and some crazy lighting.

At least at 60fps ;)

If I could choose between 30 and the full lighting and 60 at downgraded lighting, it would be an easy choice for me. They should make such stuff an option. Or at least they should show all the FPS whores what they give up for their smooth framerate.

Don't think the poly count will be a problem, this is no AC, Watchdogs or GTA V.

Could just be a vertical slice, maybe for a demo to be shown at a later event this year. Corrinne Yu stated that it's in-engine, and in game visuals.

Uncharted 2 looked pretty much like their first teaser didn't it?
