Final Fantasy Type-0 HD coming to PS4/Xbox One (no Vita), Agito coming too (iOS/And)

Did the original post by SE actually mention Vita in the text?
Perhaps the headline for the post was written by somebody at Sony (mistakenly) and the actual text didn't refer specifically to Vita?

Nope, the Vita was mentioned at least twice in the blog posting. That was not a type 0 ... eh ... typo.

Apart from the flood of feelings of the thread, I think the most important idea we can extract from this meltdown is the fact that SE doesn't know how to handle the Final Fantasy IP anymore (and their communication with the audience). It's like there is no professionalism in the company, tbqh.

Vita doesn't have an issue moving software in Japan. This game will release in Japan too yes? Would be odd otherwise. Vita version would have done well in that market is all I'm saying. It would have done less than shitty numbers in the west too given it was vita owners who were going crazy with requesting this game through Jrpgvita and what not. Console only FF players were focused almost entirely on FFXV. Vita is a very developer friendly system so I'm sure they could have kept the good will plus make back some money off the porting. But guess we will never know now :)

Either way, I don't support this attitude by either SE or Sony.

I would say it would sell better than on Xbone and PS4 combined at this moment. Maybe by the time it's out the siuation will improve for PS4.

What stings the most is not that it's not coming to the Vita, which is to me the only obvious platform of choice, but that they have announced that it will, got everybody's hopes up, people let the sigh of relief, after years of petitions, etc and then just got, lol jokes.

Ugh what the fuck?

Cool that we're getting the game but Sony and S/E clownshoed this.

On the bright(?) side it'll be 1-2 years by the time Typo-HD arrives. Plenty of time for me to get a PS4.

Why? You don't think is bigger news corporate wise to hype the game in a next gen console?

Also, we are talking about the same PS blog where Ukraine devs admit smuggling dev kits.

HOW MANY TIMES I NEED TO SAID IT. THE ONES THAT CLAIMED IT WAS FOR VITA WERE A SQUARE REP IN THE PSN BLOG

These need to be put in the OP.

LOL, what, no vita? hahahahahahaha

That was going to be the version I purchased. Oh well, I'll check it out on one of the big boy consoles instead. Still got FFX-2 to 100% and a bit more of FFX to finish to 100% it, so my vita isn't starved :)

Even worse scenario is Vita version exists for Japan only.
It actually nullifies the whole point of localization request, so I'm guessing that's not the case, though.

Seems like it should be much easier to cross develop on XboxOne and PS4 than PS4 and Vita.

all "playstation indie love" reports seem to indicate otherwise. A ton of indies have mentioned that they've ported their PS4 games to Vita in less than a week in most cases.

Have you looked at the tweets that started this from Shahid, all of them? I really think not, Shahid took claim with the #jrpgVita monicker and said how he helped being it over. Well he sure did, only not to the Vita.

So...

Did you miss Shahid Kamal's tweets about #jrpgvita megatons and oh my god Type-0 is now coming out for Vita aren't you guys excited?

Actually, to counter my previous optimism, I can imagine how this might have happened. Shahid (or Lorenzo) have likely been pestering S.E about Type-0 for a while now, and S.E. could have been all "aha, you'll see something during E3" as I could just see them being dense enough not to get the fact that they were asking for it specifically on Vita and not just a translation.

Shahid then sees the US blog post, thinks "wow, we did it!", posts his victory tweet... and then we have this situation.

Holy fucking shit. I was just about to buy it on psp for the fan patch too. Now...Holy damn. SE knows how to get my money when they want it.

It was Square the ones that posted about it in the PS blog.

I'm talking about the fact that he tried to take credit for it.

I really doubt it (I said it on tales thread) he's just a stooge. He's only taken advantage of by situations coming and notching this up as a success. Today has been a great evidence.

And to think I defended him when he said Tales R localization was thanks to the #vitajrpg campaing...

Seriously though, can we start a #dontkillvita campaign or something? For both fans of Japanese and western games.

I doubt Sony will listen, at this point I think its pretty clear that Sony released the Vita only to fill a market but it was never intended to a success, they never tried to support it or market it.

Hey Square, go die in a fire you worthless POS company.

Way to wait until the fan made translation is complete and released to finally announce something. Scared that your years of negligence might have just bit you in the ass huh? Fuck you if you think I'm paying for this now after you sat on your thumb for literally YEARS only to port a PSP game to the PS4. That's going to hold up, right? Fucking sub-PS2 assets upscaled onto the PS4? You're a bunch of clowns. I take it as a personal insult that you mouthbreathers are allowed to make decisions with regards to how franchises I used to really love are handled. Your asses got bailed out when you purchased Eidos because their president, like all of you, was a complete and utter mook. I make two better executives than your entire company combined in the toilet every morning before I go to work. I look forward to the day that your company crashes and burns into the fucking sea, only to be picked apart as salvage by western iOS developers, at which time the franchises you've already defiled with incompetence and negligence can be finally whored out to smartphones.

That's assuming you asshats don't beat your eventual western smartphone overlords to the punch, which you probably will because you give fuck all about the legacy of these franchises, to say nothing about just how little regard you hold towards the fans who made them what they where.

As the owner of a PS4 and a Vita please go swallow glass.

Wow, never would I have thought that I could have a good laugh from this thread

I have a feeling based oh what has been said:
"Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is coming to PS4 in North America and Europe"

that Type-0 is coming to Vita & PS4 in Japan, but only PS4 in the west.
Just a guess though.

Realistically, could this be a 2015 game? Assuming its getting the FFX treatment and it's just starting now.

Honestly it depends on how much work they're going to put into it. Playing the PSP version right now they have some ground to cover, but as far as has been reported the localisation and VO has been complete for years. So I imagine the bulk of the work to be asset creation.

You really believe he had nothing to do with TOHR after all of Namco's bullshit?

I own all the consoles, but I fell very bad about this story.
I think that this announcement is unrespectful towards vita owners who were the ones that were dedicated to the game, and the ones who wanted to play it. Petitions, messages on twitter, facebook, emails, twitter campaign. This was a bad move by square enix, a company must show some respect for his fans.
Well, at least in my opinion.

This. And you can blame him when it come from A FUCKING SQUARE REP.

I'm a little disappointed that this is what #JRPGVita turned out to be. A port of a PSP game... that's not even coming to the Vita.

I wonder how much Sony really has to do with this, seeing as the game is also getting an Xbox One release. They might have been the ones bringing the idea to Square Enix, but that's probably as far as their involvement goes.

I wonder how they will handle the Bump of Chicken song. Last time they had a song in a game that released in the West, the words were removed. "Zero" is a really good song.

Hashimoto: Please be disappointed.

Edit: Now when I think of it, "Please Be Disappointed" should be the new tagline for any Square Enix related stuff.
