Final Fantasy Type-0 HD coming to PS4/Xbox One (no Vita), Agito coming too (iOS/And)

I doubt Sony will listen, at this point I think its pretty clear that Sony released the Vita only to fill a market but it was never intended to a success, they never tried to support it or market it.

Oh, I know v_v Vita am cry... It's just too awesome to toss in the dumpster. Well, at least my favorite publishers will keep localizing stuff for it.

This thread has give me two good things: FF Type 0 is coming - and then there's this GIF I can't tired of:

The changing expressions on that woman's face are simply priceless.

Holy shit this is phenomenal

HOW MANY TIMES I NEED TO SAID IT. THE ONES THAT CLAIMED IT WAS FOR VITA WERE A SQUARE REP IN THE PSN BLOG

If he was in actual contact with them and had deals in place he would actually know if it was the case either way. These things don't happen by accident. If it was some random PR person I could understand why he didn't know but he's not supposedly.

I own all the consoles, but I fell very bad about this story.
I think that this announcement is unrespectful towards vita owners who were the ones that were dedicated to the game, and the ones who wanted to play it. Petitions, messages on twitter, facebook, emails, twitter campaign. This was a bad move by square enix, a company must show some respect for his fans.

Talking for me, They lost my money. I like playing handheld games on handhelds and the same about consoles. This mismanagement and ill-informed announcements are the icing of the cake of the SE debacle. All about this look rushed and unprepared, starting from the fact that t was not announced in a conference.

The title literally made me go like "wait, what!? what!?"

That's a first. I usually don't have audible reactions to stuff like this.

Have you looked at the tweets that started this from Shahid, all of them? I really think not, Shahid took claim with the #jrpgVita monicker and said how he helped being it over. Well he sure did, only not to the Vita.

So...

sony_bullshit_anim4.gif

Well:

Actually, to counter my previous optimism, I can imagine how this might have happened. Shahid (or Lorenzo) have likely been pestering S.E about Type-0 for a while now, and S.E. could have been all "aha, you'll see something during E3" as I could just see them being dense enough not to get the fact that they were asking for it specifically on Vita and not just a translation.

Shahid then sees the US blog post, thinks "wow, we did it!", posts his victory tweet... and then we have this situation.

Square, :lol

FUCK CONSOLE WARS.

I have a feeling based oh what has been said:
"Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is coming to PS4 in North America and Europe"

that Type-0 is coming to Vita & PS4 in Japan, but only PS4 in the west.
Just a guess though.

it's a possibility. maybe it could also get translated later. can't say for sure now but don't hold your breath either way

If you want the context of the gif: it's from the german political satire show "Heute Show" where they send the journalist to the party conference of a small party (FDP) they wanted to see fail at a local election... and then they didn't fail.

Thanks. I guess context doesn't always add much.

If not even a fucking SE PR was sure of it I don't see why the hell Shahid would have more knowledge about it than him.

Square has Vita dev kits and he probably spoke with them often and judging by the Square rep who confirmed a vita release I am guessing he was told the same thing. I think people are purposefully ignoring that square announced a vita version before retracting it.

Again they are PR and clearly made a mistake he didn't even know about if the deal went through or not. He literally just found out now. That is odd regardless of how you look at for someone in charge of securing support.

The ironic thing about this is that Vita fans were the ones doing petitions and trying to do what they can to get the game localised and when it finally comes over, it's not on the Vita.

It's a slap in the face, to be frank.
I wasn't even awake during the whole 'it's a Vita game' time but even after wanting this game for a while, even considering I have a PS4 so I can still play it anyway, I just can't feel happy about this news.
Of course I'll probably get it in PS4, but this is just weird.

Dude, this is Square Enix and this E3, the event where an executive can think is good idea to dress like a Bond villian in press conference.

Square has history of being a chaos management wise...

Yeah, pretty much this. And then you have someone from S-E directly announcing it and it's kind of easy to understand.

Even when Square Enix does something amazing they still find a way to disappoint the same people within the same announcement.

As I said too, this, only Square-Enix lol.

No Vita?

WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! What the fuckity fuck argle bargle glargle.

Edit: I'm happy it's coming at all but would prefer a Vita version.

Yep. This was seriously embarrasing for Sony.

Sigh

These need to be put in the OP.

This is the same company that promised, year after year, that FFXIII was exclusive to the PS3, and tricked legions of fans into paying $600 for a machine back in 2006 only for it to go multi-plat in 2009.

This is the same company that showed off FFXIII Versus back in 2006 and eight years later we don't even have a release date in sight.

This is the same company that took 3 years to do a PS2 port from 2001.

This is the same company that made not one, but TWO sequels no one asked for, to a game no one liked.

This is the same company that remade FFVI 20 years later, on mobile phones with RPGmaker level graphics.

This is the same company that showed up at the PS4 reveal and their presentation was "please be excited."

The only thing I'm surprised at are the Vita fans who didn't see any of this coming.

This announcement just makes me wonder why they can't get their shit together to finish an eight year old fucking game (FF Versus / FFV). Fucking hell.

Look at this. It was the SE REP.

I'm not sure of that. I believe SCEA's blog staff have control over the titles. We've seen incorrect platform listings in the past. I remember a couple of Aksys games that were PS3/Vita only mentioned PS3 in the title before being corrected afterwards. I guess SCEA's person wasn't given a title from SE, read the body (which never mentioned a platform) and assumed it would be on Vita.

I don't think anyone predicted a retraction 5 minutes after the announcement.

Just add Vita before Fans and it will be perfect.

You really believe he had nothing to do with TOHR after all of Namco's bullshit?

I don't know what to think to be honest, I know they said they would never ever ever ever localize it but considering a lot of Japanese games has been getting localized they could think on give it a try.

This would be the amazing final twist this thread needs.

Prediction: There was a Vita version all along but they announced it prematurely. Now they all get to look like good guys in a few months and say they did it for the fans when they announce it formally.

See SE's past like this initially makes me laugh, but then I realise they're all titles I'm interested in, so I get annoyed.

Wuuuuuuuuut

Will buy on PS4 I guess. But how do you put FFX HD on Vita but not this O_o

FFX|X-2 HD on vita is a sure bet as opposed to this game. SE putting it on consoles over VITA is a smart choice. Better chance of western sales and these consoles are severely lacking an rpg from japan. With XV coming out some day, it will be nice to have.
