Pac-Man looks awesome, but the lack of Game & Watch on the characters pages even after he was in that trailer better not mean he is cut.

Sounds like it could be the worst Smash game yet, or at least in contention. Hopefully the team at Nintendo is really listening to feedback. The grand finals of the invitational didn't look to hot either. And Sakurai's comment at today's roundtable inspires 0 confidence:

"When creating a game, we cannot just appeal to traditional fanbases. We need to reach out to new gamers, and cater to many target users."

Also, this is awful news if either point is remotely true:

Brawl was his idea of that too, right? Sounds like his plan to 'appeal to everyone' is to try and make the game play worse for the people that enjoy it most. :(

We'll see though. Even if it's the worst Smash, it will probably be great. And I'm probably just jumping to conclusions. We still know so little about this game.

I think it is silly to use the current games' meta to conclude that this is going to be "the worst Smash game ever". This was only a few hours of playtime lol...

I can't really seem to bring myself to care about Pac-Man himself; (though a Mrs. Pac-Man alt would be pretty cool) but the implications of his reveal are a little worrying.

Over the past few months I've been guessing Palutena, Mii and Pac-Man at E3. Cool to see it all worked out that way. It obviously could've been any number of combination, but those three always struck me as a good combination. One hardcore character (Palutena), one gimmick character (Mii, and by no means do I use "gimmick" negatively), and a third-party character befitting of E3.

When you get hit by any move, there is a moment where you are in place in hitstun animation but still dont go flying. At this point you can input a direction to mover your character a little bit either up, down, left or right (or anything in between). That is smash di (a better name would be positional influence, pi). After that part ends, the direction in which you go flying is affected by the direction you are holding the stick (directional influence)

Ohhhhh, that's what that is. I just thought the whole thing was DI. Damn. :lol

She can't modify because she already has a lot of specials????

Specials moves are just abilities you swap out, there's no customization. Palutena is special because her special moves are completely unique, not just alterations of the original ones.
