The Smash tourney had about 200k at its peak yesterday (plus more on youtube), but that was prime time with most people off work at night. When do indies ever get a spotlight like this in front of 44,000 people?

Smash had 200k viewers? Amazing!

Yeah I didn't keep up with it constantly but everytime I looked it had around those numbers. Lowest I saw was like 165k, but I think I saw about 190k myself + the Youtube stream.

And yeah, it seems Smash Tournament had incredible amount of contemporary viewers by Twitch's standards XD

Yeaaaah, Nintendo has really managed something special here -- this Treehouse thing is the only E3 coverage I've really paid attention to so far. It's kind of addictive.

And they're doing it so effortlessly which is the crazy part. They just take a chair and a TV and it happens. I have no idea why they kept quiet for so long when they love talking about the games they localize this much, keep them churning this content out all year.

The first was really fun, but it came out before we got overrun with tower defense style games. It's more active than TD games though.
