E3 2014 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 [ it's over :( ]

This whole Treehouse initiative has been nothing short of amazing. Couple that with the surprises Nintendo's unveiled this year, I'm legitimately excited to be a Wii U owner.

I hope this means there won't be thread after thread across forums next year arguing about Nintendo opting out of the old press conference again.

I really don't know whether to get Smash 3DS. I'm definitely getting the Wii U version so I'm not sure what use I'm going to get out of the 3DS game other than when out of the house. I want to, I love the novelty of handheld Smash, how it looks and the bonus modes, but if I've got the cash for two Nintendo games, I'm not sure I want both to be Smash. I mean, I could get Wii U version and Hyrule Warriors and feel like I've got more for my money. I'm hoping there's some sort of offer or initiative for getting both.

Something about the new Smash games aren't sitting well with me, and I can't quite place it. I've been playing a lot of Melee recently so that might be why. The animations just look so... twitchy? I think the jumping and maneuvering was so smooth and fluid in Melee but after Brawl everyone's movements look weird. Am I the only one seeing that? Particularly with the human characters (like ZSS).

Thanks. That'll be 4AM here :) Gonna have to see the megatons when I get home from work.

Look at all those people playing Splatoon right now, I'm envious as fuck.

Edit: Lol at the guy checking the dancing girl out

No they said it was a 3ds exclusive mode. Wii u Will probably get a own exclusive mode.

Its a clever way to get people to buy both because as they mentioned. You can buff up your favorite character etc. and then import him later into the Wii U version.

Pretty much. I think there will be modes that both games share (Home Run and Coins) and unique modes for each game. I already committed to 3DS version due to exclusive stages and modes, along with playing the game earlier than December.

I would love that. I could get really good custom characters ready for the Wii U version.
