I guess it'd be the most redownloaded demo ever.
 
Stopped at my local best buy and there was a line of well over 100 people wrapping around the store waiting to play. I walked around the line to see if I could get a view of they tv but the line was blocking it. They only had one demo station which seemed kinda lame.

Didn't really feel like waiting that long to play, but I at least got some streetpasses. Can't wait till this game comes out!
 
Welp, there's Chorus Kids/Marshal. I mean, it's possible they included Rhythm Heaven enemies without having a playable rep, just as they do with trophies, but somehow I doubt it. At this point, I'm confident Chrom and Shulk are in, and that, save for cuts, we know the full roster. Overconfident? Maybe. But such is life on the hype train.

Thank God. I was worried about having an awful section on an otherwise great-looking stage.

And yes, the 3DS looks amazing. As someone who has no plans to get the Wii U version, I'm glad you're constantly on top of the 3DS hype, Sah :)

I don't know much about Xenoblade, but I'm given to understand that the Monado is no ordinary sword, so hopefully Shulk will have a totally unique moveset and won't be "just another swordsman."

You're gona get Ganondorf's old crappy moveset and you're gonna like it!

Something about the character animations (particulary with jumping and strafing) look a bit off to me with these games though, especially with human characters like ZSS and Shiek. Maybe it's just the lag in the livestreams or something, but they feel like a far cry from the fluidity in Melee. Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed about mario in that regard, his aerial attack animations are way worse in brawl than melee imo, and it's the same in ssb4. Bowser's new midair jump also looks really weird to me.

So anyone been naughty and seen if they've continued the naughty tradition of tilting the camera up and see that they've textured that. ;)
 
Phone died for a few hours and when I come back people have been disingenuous about Brawl's 'success.' The reason. APEX has those numbers because that's the only real big tournament brawl players have. In AZ and Cali there are 90 - 150 man tournaments for melee and PM like monthly. In Phoenix we have weekly melee tournaments with 50-100 people at a university. This stuff has been goin on for years, brawl with exception to a few regions and yearly tournaments never really had those numbers regularly. So of course they go to Apex. So yeah, a handful a year will be good, but Melee and PM are year round.

Just feel like folks are being very disingenuous with those APEX numbers. I would say the community gave it a fair year-long shake, after 2 years the scene started dwindling dramatically.

I just think we need to find a balance so we can put Melee and PM to rest and play Smash 4 for five or six years, until smash 5 comes out.
 
Just got done playing the game looks great. I played as donkey kong and the guy said I was the only one who played as him all day :/. #TeamDK
 
Had a lot of fun at the Best Buy demo, won 3-1 in two 2 minute matches with Link and Kirby. Posted impressions in the other thread. Unfortunately the Best Buy manager was a dick about recording footage :/

Someone needs to make a thread, with links to all three of Sal's leaks and this enemy. If all the announced characters get a thread, we should also have a thread to discuss what is likely the last three newcomers.

That said, I look forward to Chorus Kids.

Thank you Sakurai, for Chorus Kids, Villager, Rosalina, Greninja, Mega Man, and Pac-Man tho. Great roster of newcomers, just seems so small.

Theory: with only three left, I predict we get their trailers all before launch and all veterans are announced before September 14th. No unlockable characters. (Theres no point at this point, especially if they are doing DLC. They can keep the hype going after the fact.)

The most recent one lists those six as the only "participating characters". This could mean that these are all of the non-secret newcomers, or all of the remaining newcomers. I think expecting more on top of them is setting yourself up for disappointment.
