To my knowledge Monolith is still working on a 3DS RPG.

They're not, at least not the programmer-less Kyoto studio. All they has worked on is art and design for Animal Crossing New Leaf, Pikmin 3, A Link Between Worlds and probably the new Zelda, too. They are a grunt work studio.

Found it. This is what I was thinking of. It was just in the back of my mind they were working on something.

This is not concept art for a video game. This is a piece of art on a website for a studio that is mostly just a bunch of artists handling art assets. Look, I would fucking love another Honne directed game, but that doesn't seem to be a reality, for now at least.

My fingers are crossed for an Intelligent Systems turn-based strategy game. It doesn't need to be called Advance Wars or Fire Emblem to satisfy the itch.

Realistically, a new IP, whatever it is, was probably the best outcome of a mystery dedicated roundtable all along apart from a new Metroid. Majora's Mask will return in time and Mother 3 on the Wii U VC looks more within the realm of distant possibility than it ever did before. Whatever this is, it must be esoteric enough to raise questions and on a bigger scale than Dillon or Steel Diver.
